Abstract

Indonesia memiliki banyak jenis minuman yang digemari oleh Masyarakat. Minuman es teh saat ini menjadi salah satu minuman yang digemari oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Masalah yang ditemui pada minuman es teh adalah higienitas dalam proses pembuatannya. Akibat dari kontaminasi ini adalah penyakit diare, berdasarkan laporan Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi DKI Jakarta, diare menjadi penyakit dengan jumlah kasus tertinggi di antara 10 penyakit lainnya pada tahun 2023, dengan total kasus mencapai 188.514. Wilayah Jakarta Timur memiliki kasus diare tertinggi di Provinsi DKI Jakarta, dengan jumlah sebanyak 51.030 kasus. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kontaminasi Escherichia coli pada sampel minuman es teh yang dikumpulkan dari lingkungan Pasar Embrio. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Most Probable Number (MPN) yang diawali dengan uji penduga, uji penguat dan uji pelengkap. Hasil penelitian menunjukan berdasarkan uji penduga dan uji penguat diperoleh nilai MPN kontaminasi bakteri dalam sampel adalah >1.100 MPN/ml. Hasil ini melebihi ambang batas yang ditentukan oleh Kementrian Kesehatan Indonesia untuk kualitas air minum. Uji pelengkap menunjukan 3 sampel koloni bakteri berwarna hijau metalik yang menandakan sampel positif bakteri E. coli. Berdasarkan hasil diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel minuman es teh di lingkungan Pasar Embrio Jakarta Timur positif tercemar bakteri Escherichia coli.

Abstract

Teripang atau dikenal juga dengan sebutan gamat (Stichopus variegatus) merupakan bahan alam kelautan yang banyak dimanfaatkan di berbagai negara Asia, termasuk Indonesia. Teripang berpotensi dikembangkan di bidang obat maupun bidang kosmetik, karena mengandung berbagai macam bioaktif.  Salah satu kandungan teripang adalah saponin yang berpotensi memiliki aktivitas sebagai antiinflamasi dan aktibakteri. Tantangan dari pembuatan produk kosmetik yang terbuat dari bahan aktif bahan alam adalah stabilitas dan penetrasi bahan aktif ke dalam kulit. Teknologi nanopartikel digunakan untuk meningkatkan stabilitas dan bioavabilitas bahan aktif. Ekstrak teripang diperoleh melalui metode maserasi dengan rendemen 5,3%. Kadar saponin pada ekstrak teripang yang ditetapkan secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis menunjukkan kadar sebesar 6,14 mg/g sampel. Nanoemulsi ekstrak teripang diformulasikan menggunakan metode gelasi ionik dengan kitosan sebagai polimer pembentuk. Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan ukuran partikel rata-rata 733,7 nm, polydispersity index (PDI) 0,584, serta zeta potensial +29,14 mV, yang mengindikasikan stabilitas koloid yang baik. Aktivitas antiinflamasi diuji menggunakan metode denaturasi Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) dan diperoleh nilai IC₅₀ sebesar 144,34 bpj, yang menunjukkan kemampuan penghambatan denaturasi protein.

Abstract

Kalimantan Island is an area with forests that can be developed for potential results, especially in plants with medicinal properties for health. The medicinal properties of plants are the role of the secondary metabolites contained in them. One of them is Litsea, a plant that comes from the Lauraceae family with 45 genera and more than 2,000 species. Plants from this genus are widely used by the community as traditional medicine, especially Litsea elliptica. One of the secondary metabolite contents of Litsea elliptica is flavonoids. The aim of this research was to determine the flavonoid content of Litsea elliptica leaf extract. The extraction process was carried out by maceration with 96% ethanol solvent. The results of the maceration extraction are then carried out by evaporation until a thick extract is obtained. The total flavonoid content was determined using the Colorimetric-Aluminum Chloride Method with a UV-Vis spectrophotometric instrument, resulting in a total flavonoid content of Litsea elliptica leaf extract of 391.01 mg ± 0.27 mg. The conclusion of this research is that Litsea elliptica leaf extract has a flavonoid content of 0.39%

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the gel activity of okra fruit extract (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) in mice with hyperglycemic conditions based on histopathological indicator parameters, namely the amount of neovascularization. Mus musculus strain male mice were hyperglycemic with STZ at a dose of 0.06 mg/gBW. Mice were divided into 8 groups (n=6). Group 1 (Non-DM Control), Group 2 (DM Control), Groups 3 to 8 (Test). The dose of glibenclamide was 5 mg/KgBW, the dose of okra fruit extract was 400 mg/KgBW and the dose of CMC Na was 5 mL/KgBW. Therapy was given once a day (oral and topical) for 15 days of therapy which was seen on days 0, 5, 11 and 15. The results of the study showed an increase in the number of neovascularizations on the 15th day of therapy in the test group compared to the control group. Administration of a combination of topical okra fruit extract gel with okra fruit extract orally for 15 days of therapy was able to increase the amount of neovascularization compared to administration without the combination or only orally. Administration of a combination of topical gel and oral okra fruit extract accelerated the wound healing process in hyperglycemic mice compared to non-combination administration. Management of fasting blood glucose levels has an effect on the success of the diabetic wound healing process.

Abstract

Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.) are herbal plants known to contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids and phenolics, which have potential as natural antioxidants and can be utilized in the development of herbal-based pharmaceutical preparations. This study aimed to determine the organoleptic characteristics and the total flavonoid content of 96% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves. The extraction process was carried out using the maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent on 1 kg of fresh Moringa leaves. The leaves were dried into simplicia powder weighing 126.22 g, then macerated for 3 days with stirring every 24 hours. The filtrate was evaporated using a rotary evaporator at 40°C to obtain a thick extract, yielding 7.01% with a native DER value of 14.26. The organoleptic characteristics showed that the extract had the typical odor of Moringa leaves, a bitter taste, and a greenish-brown color. The determination of flavonoid content was conducted using the aluminium chloride colorimetric method with quercetin as the standard, and measurements were performed at a maximum wavelength of 450 nm. The calibration curve showed a linear relationship between quercetin concentration and absorbance with the regression equation y = 0.0163x – 0.0789 and R² = 0.9986. The analysis results showed that the total flavonoid content of the 96% ethanol extract of Moringa leaves was 1203.78 ± 2.98 mg/100 g. With its high flavonoid content, Moringa leaf extract has the potential to be developed as a natural antioxidant in herbal-based pharmaceutical formulations.
