Abstract

                                                     ABSTRACT     The tittle of this skripsi is “Campur Kode yang Digunakan dalam Acara Talk Show Kick Andy di Metro TV”. It is analyzed from the sociolinguistic point of view. The aims of this research are to identify, classify, and analyze the code-mixing used by the host, Andy F. Noya, and his guest stars in the program “Kick Andy” (Talk show program on Metro TV). The research uses qualitative descriptive approach, by using the theory of Hoffman (1991:112) and Kim (2006: 43). The data were collected from utterances containing code-mixing in English by Andy F. Noya and the guest stars, in video / 14 episodes. The total number of code-mixing found are 120 by Andy F. Noya and guest stars in “Kick Andy” talk show program on Metro TV. The results of this research show that two types of code-mixing found are intra sentential code-mixing and intra lexical code-mixing. While the type of involving a change of pronunciation is not found in the data. The results of this research also show that there are 5 of 6 factors that cause people to do code-mixing in “Kick Andy” talk show program on Metro TV, namely bilingualism, speaker and partner speaking, social community, situation, and vocabulary. However, the factor of prestige is not found in the data.Keywords: Code-Mixing, “Kick Andy” talk show program, Sociolinguistics.

Abstract

                                                    ABSTRACT      This research is entitled “Grammatical Ambiguity in The Interview (2014) movie by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg”. Ambiguity is a word, phrase, or statement which contains more than one meaning. The ambiguity that occurs at the sentence level is called grammatical ambiguity, this ambiguity is caused by the ambiguousness of grammatical forms or from the structure of sentence. The aims of this research are to identify and classify the forms of grammatical ambiguity and analyze the cause of the grammatical ambiguity that are found in The Interview movie (2014). The data source of this research is collected from The Interview Movie (2014). This research uses theory from Ullmann (1962). There are 62 dialogues of gramatical ambiguity. Those grammatical ambiguities are classified into 3 types; 1 preffix and suffix, inflectional ending, and equivocal phrasing (amphibology). There are, 42 prefix and suffix consisting of prefix un- totalling 6, prefix mis- totalling 3, prefix in- totalling 3, suffix –ly totalling 10, suffix –er totalling 6, suffix – ed totalling 7, and suffix –s totalling 7. 13 Inflectional ending and 7 equivocal phrasing (amphibology).Keywords: Grammatical Ambiguity, The Interview Movie (2014), Semantic

Abstract

Sigarlaki, S.S M.Hum³     This research entitled "The Associative Meaning in Book of Job". The problems of this research focus on the five types of Associative Meaning, that is connotative meaning,social meaning, affective meaning, reflected meaning and collective meaning and their descriptions in the Book of Job. The aims of the research are to identify, classify the verse into the five types of associative meanings, and to analyze the verses in the Book of Job using Semantics approach. This research uses descriptive method, supported by Leech's theory. In collecting data, the writer focused on reading the words, phrases, or sentences in every verse from chapter 1-42.The writer found 19 words, 8 pharases, and 17 sentences which contains the five types of associative meanings. The result of this research that the writer found that are 14 date of connotative meaning, 5 date of social meaning, 10 date of affective meaning, 5 date of reflective meaning, and 10 date of collocative meaning in the Book of Job.Keywords:Meaning, Associative Meaning, Book of Job, Descriptive Analysis.

Abstract

                                                   ABSTRACT     This research is entitled “The Terms of Food in English and Patani Language: A Contrastive Analysis”. This reseacrh is an attempt to identify, classify, analyze and describe the terms of food which are used in English and panati language. The English data have been collected from thesis and from the internet, whereas the Patani language data have been elicted from some informants. The qualitative descriptive method is used to describe and analyze the kinds of food by using Frisch in Hickerson theory. After describing the kind of food in English and Patani language, the writer makes a contrastive analyze by using Robert Lado theory in finding out the similarities and diffrences of both Language. In this research the writer uses Givon (1994) and Leech’s theory (1971) to analyzing the data, and Lado (1957) theory to contrasting both languages to find out the differences and similarities. The result shows that the kind of terms of food in English and Patani language consists of two groups, they are solid food and oil food. Solid food consists of fruits, vegetable, bread, meat, fish and seafood, and proccesed food. The form of food in Panati are liquid and solid food. English food term consist of word and phrase and the meaning only denotative. Patani society has so many celebrations that used the certain name. Word, phrase, and clause as lingual forms of Panati food. The meaning are denotative and connotative meaning.Keywords: The Terms of Food in English and Patani Language, Contrastive Analysis

Abstract

                                                     ABSTRACT     This research entitled “Makna Konotatif dalam Pidato Donald John Trump”. This research examines about connotative meaning found in Donald John Trump’s speech. This study has two research problems, which are the kinds of lingual forms that have connotative meanings described on Donald Trump’s speech and the functions of connotative meanings stated on Donald Trump’s speech. The aim of this research is to identify and classify the kind of lingual forms and analyze and describe, the functions of connotative meaning on Donald John Trump’s speech. The data were taken from several Donald John Trump’s speech such as Donald Trump Inauguration Speech on 21st January, 2021, Donald Trump’s speeches to United Nation General Assembly, President Donald Trump delivers annual address at State of the Union 2020 and Donald Trump Farewell speech from White House. The researcher uses a semantic theory by Geoffrey Leech (1981). The researcher identified and classified the phrases and sentences and then analyzed and described the connotative meaning. As the result, there are 40 phrases which consist of connotative meaning. The researcher found also there are 14 phrases with informational function, 13 phrases with expressive function, 10 phrases with aesthetic function, 2 phrases with phatic function and 1 phrase with directive function that found in this research.Keywords: Connotative Meaning, Semantic Analysis, Donald John Trump’s Speeches

Abstract

                                                     ABSTRACT     This research is entitled “Deiksis dalam Film Enola Holmes Karya Harry Bradbeer”. There are 5 types of deixis, those are: person deixis (first person, second person, and third person), place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and sosial deixis. Deixis belongs to pragmatics. The word deixis come from the Greek deiktikos, it means, “pointing”. The objectives of this research are to identify and classify the types of deixis and to analyze the function of deixis in the film Enola Holmes by Harry Bradbeer. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data are identified, classified and analyzed descriptively. The data were analyzed based on Levinson theory. The result shows that there are five types of deixis in the film Enola Holmes, those are person (first person: I, me, mine, our, we, us, and my; second person: your, yours and you; third person: he, him, they, and them), place deixis: here, there, this train, this house time deixis: ago, tomorrow, next time, later,and now, discourse deixis: this, and sosial deixis: madam, master, sir, uncle, brother, and mother. Thios rsearch also shows the functions of each deixis. It is expected that this research will help the students and the other readers to learn the pragmatics aspects, especially about deixis.Keywords: Film, Pragmatics, Deixis.

Abstract

Food security is a priority program of President of R I. The government has allocated Rp118 trillion for food security programs in 2025, focusing on various initiatives to enhance food availability and access. Food security close related to the traditional food include Minahasan culinary and its ingredients (spicy). So the study focuses on the Rampa campur in Nomenclature of Minahasan ingredients. In the Minahasan community, the traditional food’s spices (ingredients) are uniquely differentiated based on the use of local languages in certain Minahasan regions. The problem is what are the lingual forms of the Rampa campur in Nomenclature of Minahasan ingredients as food security and its meaning. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method through a linguistics synchronic and gastronomic linguistic approach. The theory of syntax (Givon, 1984) and morphology are applied. The lingual forms of the Rampa campur in Nomenclature of Minahasan ingredients are words and phrases as results of research. Kekuru ‘kemangi’ ( Ocimum citriodonum)., and salimbata ‘serai’ (Cymbopogon Citratus) are words. Kekuru as raw material in woku and tinutuan. Sere is used in pangi, tinoransak, kotei, saut, and ayam woku isi di bulu . Furthermore, phrases consist of Lemong Cui ‘jeruk nipis’, is call lemong ikang (Citrus microcarpa), and Daong lemong ‘daun jeruk’ ( Lat citruss aurantifolia). Lemong cui is a basic ingredients in ikang bakar rica. While, Daun lemong is used in pangi, tinoransak, kotei, saut, dan ayam woku isi di bulu. The patterns are 1). Noun +noun; 2) and Noun + Adjective.
