The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptions of farmers on the existence of BMT and identify factors that can increase the chances of farmers access the agricultural financing of BMT. The results of the analysis has pointed out that farmers assess the perception of the existence of BMT important role in supporting farming activities or other economic activity. In terms of employee services, facilities and infrastructure owned, as well as agricultural finance products from BMT, farmers assess it is already quite good. Farmers give agreed statements to each perception attribute with different percentages. Abstract

In 2018, there were 38.7 million workers in agriculture. The high number in the agricultural sector is not accompanied by an increase in the contribution of the total agricultural sector to the value of the Gross Domestic Product. The condition is exacerbated by the lack of accessibility of rural farmers towards farming capital. Although micro, small and medium enterprises (SME’s) loans grew by 8.0 percent (yoy) in 2016, many studies have revealed the dependence of micro farmers (gurem) on access to capital from informal sources which ultimately makes it difficult for them in terms of repaying capital loans because they are trapped in the practice of money lenders. The existence of Islamic Financial Services Cooperatives (Koperasi Jasa Keuangan Syariah-KJKS) is an interesting subject. KJKS, better known as Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT), is hope for increasing the accessibility of the poor to capital sources because BMT plays a cultural role as a funding intermediary and cultural as a social lending institution (qardhul hasan). This study aims to analyze the development of institutional financing based on Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT) using the Berlian Porter Model approach so that a strategic architecture of agricultural financing development can be formulated based on the competing factors of BMT competitiveness in rural areas. Primary research data was taken in November 2016-January 2017 using the focus group discussion method with expert speakers. The research data is then supplemented by relevant secondary sources in November 2019. The formulation of competitiveness in the Diamond Model is often known to analyze the competitiveness of countries, but several studies reveal that the Berlian Porter approach can be applied to the scale of the country, region, industry, and individual companies, both goods, and services. The ability of an institution to maintain its existence depends on its competitiveness, and in the aggregate will affect the competitiveness of a country.

Abstract

MSMEs in the food sector are the dominant economic support in Indonesia. Surabaya has more than 60 thousand MSMEs. In food production at the MSME level, food additives and packaging is inevitable. Despite the current regulations, people still encounter dangerous food additives or packaging. This is caused by a lack of knowledge and awareness of food producers and consumers. On the other hand, since the implementation of the halal guarantee system, the use of halal labels on food and beverage products has become very important. For MSMEs, the government makes it easy to get a halal label through the self-declare halal program using the SEHATI. This activity aims to provide training on safe food additives and packaging, halal food, and the self-declare halal program using the SEHATI application in Surabaya. Carrying out activities using presentation and two-way interaction. Evaluate activities through pretest and posttest for each topic. The lowest values for food packaging, it is 52.92 and 79.58. The highest value was shown by the halal topic with an average of 69.58 and 97.92. The significance of the increase in value was demonstrated by the Wilcoxon test using SPSS 22 which showed the Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) value for the three topics less than 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that this activity has proven to be able to improve participants' abilities regarding safe food additives and packaging, as well as halal food and the introduction of the self-declare halal program.

Abstract

Tilapia fish meat is a raw material that is widely consumed by the community due to its high nutritional value. However, the amount of meat consumption is not accompanied by the management of tilapia by-products. By-products from the disposal of tilapia processing can cause pollution and disrupt certain ecosystems, so it is necessary to manage the waste by-products of tilapia products. One way to process tilapia offal waste is by utilizing it as a protein hydrolysate product. Protein hydrolysate is a derivative product of protein in the form of bioactive peptides and amino acids that have potential as antioxidants. Products from antioxidants have many benefits such as anti-aging, as food supplements, as drugs to ward off cancer and so on. However, antioxidant products sold commercially are relatively expensive when compared to tilapia offal waste protein hydrolysate products. Therefore, this protein hydrolysate product is a suitable means to be an alternative as a substitute for commercial antioxidants. However, from another perspective, waste that is regarded as inappropriate production residue is really used as a raw material for consumable. Meanwhile, the Indonesia government has legalized law number 33 of 2014 oh Halal Product Assurance, which requires that all products entering, circulating, and traded in Indonesia be halal certified. So, the purpose of this study, (1) investigate the (1) investigate the influence of proteolytic enzymes at different doses on antioxidant activity in tilapia offal waste protein hydrolysate. (2) Review product development to ensure that it meets halal product assurance requirements in Indonesia and becomes a raw material or additional material that can be halal certified
