Abstract

Entrepreneurship is one of the main pillars of national economic development. However, the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia remains relatively low compared to developed countries, partly due to the lack of entrepreneurial mindset among the younger generation. Many students and young people have creative ideas but hesitate to realize them due to fear of failure. A healthy entrepreneurial mindset emphasizes the courage to start, readiness to face risks, and the ability to turn failures into learning processes. This Community Service Program (PKM), conducted at SMA Pelita Bangsa, carries the theme “Entrepreneurial Mindset: Courage to Start and Not Afraid of Failure.” The program aims to instill entrepreneurial mindset from an early age so that students are more courageous in taking initiatives and view failure as a natural part of the journey toward success. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) through observation, seminars, group discussions, case studies, and simple business simulations. The results indicate an increase in students’ understanding of entrepreneurial mindset, the growth of motivation to start small-scale ideas, and a change in perception toward failure. Prior to the program, 70% of students admitted being afraid of failure, while after the program, 80% declared readiness to try small businesses despite limited resources. This PKM is expected to serve as an effective learning model for building entrepreneurial mentality among high school students, while also contributing to the strengthening of the national entrepreneurship ecosystem from an early stage.

Abstract

Human resources (HR) excellence is a top development priority in many countries around the world, including Indonesia, especially in facing various digital economic challenges that demand young generations to be creative, independent, and innovative. SMA Pelita Bangsa, as one of the schools in an urban area, plays a crucial role in the development of the young generation, who in the future will take on an important role in Indonesia's economy. However, in carrying out its role, SMA Pelita Bangsa faces various complex challenges, such as the low interest of students in entrepreneurship, the impact of a lack of understanding of the entrepreneurial world, limited access to training, and a school curriculum that does not adequately support access to the business world. Teachers and school administrators play a key role in shaping the entrepreneurial spirit within students. However, this is hindered by insufficient resources and a lack of well-integrated development programs. The Community Service Program (PKM) organized by students of Universitas Pamulang aims to analyze and strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit among SMA Pelita Bangsa students through the delivery of materials and a discussion themed “Becoming a Young Entrepreneurial Generation: Creative, Independent, Innovative.” With a participatory approach, this PKM activity will examine students’ knowledge and interest in the business world, as well as identify opportunities and challenges that influence their interest in entrepreneurship. This activity is expected to provide insights and sustainable positive impacts, not merely short-term solutions. The method used was a participatory approach through material delivery and interactive discussion for 2 class hours, running from 13:30 to 15:15 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, and involving 75 students divided into 3 classes. Observations showed high interest among several students, as evidenced by some students who already run small businesses. This enthusiasm became more apparent when they were able to present their small business experiences, such as fried chicken (ayam geprek) businesses or simple t-shirt screen-printing designs. This indicates a very large potential for the development of young entrepreneurs. However, the school still faces major challenges, as many students still have limited knowledge and lack interest in the business world. Another major issue is related to students’ independence and innovation, which are still very limited. It was observed that students who have businesses are still highly dependent on others as distributors and initiators of those businesses. The majority of students also feel more comfortable being consumers rather than producers, and only a few are able to express new business ideas and identify simple business opportunities around them. This PKM is expected to be an initial step in fostering students’ independence and innovation, as well as providing a practical learning model that can be applied to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit among the young generation. Furthermore, this activity also has the potential to serve as a reference for other secondary schools in designing similar programs and make a tangible contribution to the efforts of developing creative and competitive human resources in Indonesia.

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PKM) serve as a key step and main focus for university students to foster a positive mindset toward society. Focusing on entrepreneurship has become a very relevant topic today, as many MSMEs are able to sell a variety of products but lack branding and promotional strategies that align with the current global trends. In this regard, we as students play a role in conducting socialization about the development of digital marketing and branding that can compete with established brands. We also realize that many MSME actors feel challenged by larger brands, whose prices are often set higher than their market range. The method we used is participatory action research. The findings show that PKM activities have successfully established an organized structure, but there were challenges encountered during the process, such as limited time for conducting the socialization. With sufficient time, PKM activities can be fully achieved. We hope that through branding socialization in this digital era, Indonesian youth will be more interested in entering the business world. Abstract

Rivalry in the education field, especially at SMA Pelita Bangsa, has heightened alongside rising expectations for quality and evolving preferences of students and their parents. Thus, market analysis is essential as a means to comprehend customers—students and parents—and to evaluate the positioning and strategies of rivals within educational institutions. This insight is anticipated to assist the school and its students in obtaining a lasting competitive edge. This research seeks to analyze students' comprehension of customers and competitors while developing strategies that can enhance SMA Pelita Bangsa's standing. The approach employed is qualitative research utilizing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework, incorporating observations, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), detailed interviews, and SWOT analysis. The findings indicate that while students grasp the significance of market analysis, its execution is still obstructed by a lack of data and inadequate cooperation among the school, students, and parents. SMA Pelita Bangsa excels in teacher quality and facilities but must improve innovation and data usage. Through differentiation methods and enhanced collaboration with stakeholders, the school and students are equipped to tackle competition successfully and cultivate a more robust entrepreneurial mindset. This research provides essential insights for formulating entrepreneurship strategies and competitive edge in educational environments

Abstract

Rapid technological developments have had a major impact on various aspects of life, including the business world. Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012, grew up as a generation familiar with digital technology, giving them great potential to develop an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to provide students with an understanding of the importance of entrepreneurship from an early age, foster creative and independent thinking, and utilize technology as a means to start a business. This activity was carried out at Pelita Bangsa Global Islamic School through direct guidance, interactive discussions, and question and answer sessions to determine the extent of students' understanding of the material presented. The results of the activity showed that students were very enthusiastic and understood that a business does not have to start from something big, but can come from a simple idea or hobby that is developed. They also realized that technology plays an important role in promoting and developing a business. Although there are still challenges such as lack of confidence and minimal experience, this activity succeeded in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in the younger generation and encouraging them to dare to take advantage of opportunities from an early age.
