Abstract

One of the most important skills which is needed to face this 21st centurychallenge is critical thinking since it is very important to solve problems. This research is conducted to find out the critical thinking skill of the Science Department students at Universitas Hasyim Asy’ari (UNHASY) Jombang who took Basic Biology. This research is a survey research and conducted during even semester 2018/2019. The number of the research subject is 57 students. The researchers use essay/subjective test as research instrument to measure the students’ critical thinking. Then, the data was analyzed descritively. Based on the research, the researchers found that the students’ critical thinking is at indicator range 2,92 which means undeveloped. The total percentage of students’ critical thinking skill which is at undeveloped level is 49,12% while the other one which is at well developed level is 50,88%.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the potential of light bricks made from plywood industry waste as a construction material with sound-dampening capabilities. Plywood sawdust waste was chosen as a mixing material due to its abundant availability and its lightweight and porous characteristics, which are expected to enhance the acoustic performance of the bricks. In this study, variations in the composition of plywood powder in bricks were made with the aim of evaluating its effect on physical, mechanical, and acoustic properties. The materials needed for this research are sand, cement, water, and plywood powder. The process of mixing and molding the bricks is done manually. Bricks are dried for 28 days to ensure the mechanical strength and stability of the bricks. Testing was conducted to evaluate physical properties through mass measurement and density testing, mechanical properties through compressive strength testing, and acoustic properties through sound absorption coefficient testing at various frequencies. The research results show that the addition of plywood powder significantly affects the reduction of brick density, making it lighter compared to conventional bricks. Based on the compressive strength test results, it is known that the addition of plywood powder has reduced the compressive strength value of the brick. However, bricks with an additional 10% and 20% volume of plywood powder still meet the minimum compressive strength requirements based on SNI 03-0349-1989. Meanwhile, the results of the sound absorption coefficient test indicate that the increase in the sound absorption coefficient is not significant, presumably due to the structural properties of the bricks that still require porosity optimization. In conclusion, lightt bricks with plywood powder filler have the potential to be environmentally friendly and lightweight construction materials, but they require improvement in optimizing sound absorption for more specific applications in buildings with acoustic insulation needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang motivasi belajar siswa SMA/Sederajat dalam pembelajaran daring serta aspek-aspek yang mempengaruhinya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode survei. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah convenience sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner terbuka dan tertutup dalam bentuk Google Form. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa memiliki rasa kemauan dan kesadaran yang tinggi untuk belajar dan menyelesaikan tugas selama pembelajaran daring, (2) tingkat motivasi belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran daring berada pada kategori tinggi, serta (3) aspek-aspek dominan yang memengaruhi tingkat motivasi belajar siswa adalah semangat belajar dan desain lingkungan belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menganalisis efektivitas e-book tipe flip book dalam melatih motivasi belajar peserta didik pada materi identifikasi jamur Basidiomycota. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research & Development (R&D) yang telah dimodifikasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Hasyim Asy'ari Tebuireng pada Oktober 2024 - Januari 2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode tes yang dilakukan kepada 20 peserta didik kelas X SMA. Tes digunakan untuk mengetahui mengenai skor peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik dengan memberikan lembar soal sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan e-book. Metode ini digunakan untuk mengetahui keefektifan e-book berdasarkan aspek peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-book yang dikembangkan memiliki efektivitas sedang ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,59 (kategori sedang) dan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 90%. Respon peserta didik terhadap e-book menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan sebesar 95,7%, yang menunjukkan bahwa e-book sangat layak dan efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa secara keseluruhan e-book yang dikembangkan cukup efektif dan praktis dalam meningkatkan motivasi pembelajaran peserta didik.

Abstract

The problem in this research is motivated by data about daily assessment questions that still use low-level abilities (LOTS), while 21st century learning requires students to have higher-order thinking skills. This research aims to develop and determine the theoretical and empirical validity of the HOTS questions on the human digestive system for class VIII SMP/MTs. The research conducted is a type of research development, this research produces HOTS questions on the Human Digestive System. The development of this HOTS question refers to the ADDIE model development procedure which consists of five stages, (analyze), (design), (development), (implementation) and (evaluation). This development research produces a product HOTS questions on the material of the human digestive system class VIII, which consists of 8 questions. The results of the average score percentage of theoretical validity by material experts, construction experts, and science teachers are 95.3%, 94.7%, and 98.7%, very valid categories. and empirical validity which contains the validity of the items with 8 questions declared valid, with an average score of 0.597, Reliability resulting in an average score of 0.627 being declared reliable, Distractor producing an average score of 18.7% with poor criteria, and discriminating power produce an average score of 0.35% with sufficient criteria. This shows that the product of HOTS questions that have been developed is feasible to use.

Abstract

Pengembangan literasi sains merupakan fokus utama dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia, terutama terkait rendahnya hasil literasi sains siswa berdasarkan survei PISA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis STEM guna meningkatkan literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) model 4D: Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Pada tahap analisis kebutuhan, dilakukan identifikasi masalah, analisis kompetensi dasar, serta analisis konten yang relevan dengan pembelajaran literasi sains, khususnya materi gelombang bunyi. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa calon guru yang terlibat dalam pengujian LKM. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan bahwa LKM mendapatkan skor rata-rata 4,57, dengan validator 1 memberikan skor 4,70, validator 2 dengan nilai 4,80, dan validator 3 dengan nilai 4,20, yang dinyatakan valid. Setelah divalidasi, LKM dinyatakan layak digunakan dengan sedikit perbaikan. Secara keseluruhan, pengembangan LKM ini dinyatakan valid dan harapannya dapat meningkatkan literasi sains pada mahasiswa calon guru. Studi lanjutan dapat diujikan kepada mahasiswa untuk melihat pengaruh bahan ajar ini terhadap peningkatan literasi sains mereka sebagai calon guru, serta mengeksplorasi pengembangan LKM untuk materi lain di berbagai jenjang pendidikan.

Abstract

The students' knowledge of Physics Science material, especially in the subject of the motion of objects, is still below the expected KKM standard. Motion material is the basis or prerequisite for understanding further science material related to object motion material in class VIII to class IX. So far, there has never been an assessment related to the abilities of students' knowledge dimensions. This research focuses on assessing faktual, konseptual and prosedural knowledge according to the IC issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The purpose of this research is to describe the process of developing factual, conceptual and prosedural knowledge questions and to find out the dimensions of students' knowledge on the material motion of objects. The data obtained in this research is in the form of qualitative and quantitative data. Empirical validity analysis of 14 multiple-choice items and essays yielded the characteristics of the questions consisting of validity of 13 (92.8%) valid items, reliability of items with Cronbach's alpha 0.630 on 8 multiple-choice items and Cronbach's alpha 0.638 on 5 essay items greater than the r table value of 0.6, the level of difficulty is 64,3% items with moderate criteria, the discriminating power is 28,57% very good, 28,57% good questions, and 28,57% sufficient.

Abstract

Augmented Reality-based learning media is an innovation in teaching and learning activities. Augmented Reality has the advantage of combining objects with the real world, creating new quality and experiences for students. The objective of this research was to create Augmented Reality-based learning media on Solar System material and to determine its validity and practicality. This research was a development study using the 4D Thiagarajan model but without conducting the Disseminate stage. The research subjects were media experts, material experts, teachers, and students. Data collection used validation instruments and student responses with a Likert scale of 1-4. The evaluation results from material experts, media experts, and teachers (users) achieved an average validity of 91%, which was categorized as very valid. The results of the small-scale test of the Augmented Reality-based learning media obtained an average of 78%, categorized as fairly practical. The results of the large group trial obtained an average of 88%, categorized as very practical. Therefore, the Augmented Reality learning media on the Solar System material was deemed suitable for use in seventh-grade classrooms.

Abstract

se pollution and household waste accumulation are interrelated environmental challenges that demand sustainable and innovative solutions. This study aimed to develop eco-friendly sound-absorbing materials from household waste through a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach to enhance students’ ecopreneurship skills. The research employed a developmental design involving 16 students from the Science Education Study Program at Universitas Hasyim Asy’ari enrolled in the Environmental Science course. The project-based approach comprised problem identification, project design, product fabrication and testing, reflection, and presentation. Data were collected through observations of project implementation, Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) measurements, and ecopreneurship skill questionnaires. Results showed that the project was effectively implemented (88.40%), and the developed sound absorber composed of recycled paper, wood dust, and textile waste achieved a maximum NRC of 0.83 at mid-to-high frequencies, indicating good acoustic performance. A paired-sample t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement in students’ ecopreneurship skills (t(15) = 6.21, p < 0.001), especially in sustainability orientation and creative innovation. The project-based activities also helped students better understand the physics of sound absorption and its real-world applications. These findings demonstrate that integrating project-based learning with environmental contexts strengthens physics education while fostering sustainable innovation and green entrepreneurial competence.
