Abstract

The ability of students to interpret a physics concept can be known by using a multi-representation test instrument. This research aims to analyze the multi-representation ability of students on elasticity and Hooke's law. This research is a descriptive exploratory study using a multi-representation instrument. The instrument is in the form of an essay with 6 items, the instrument has been validated by 2 physics lecturers at the Universitas Negeri  Surabaya. Research respondents were 23 students of class XI SMA Negeri 3 Blitar as many as 1 class for the 2020/2021 school year Based on the results of the analysis, the research results obtained: a) the research instrument in the form of a valid multi-representation question with the value 0,87 category very valid; b) not all multi-representation abilities were mastered by students. The data showed that the students' lack of multi-representation ability was verbal representation ability with a percentage of 65.21%, while the highest representation ability was mathematical representation and symbols with a percentage of 92.75%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the understanding of the concept of dynamic fluid material in physics subjects, the ability to compile a simple business plan through the project-based learning method, and to find out the learning interests of class XI IPS 1 students with a special interest in Physics at SMA Lab School Unesa 2020/2021 academic year. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. Data collection was carried out by means of test methods, simple business plan assignments, and questionnaires to students. Students are given tests by working on questions and assigning a simple business plan as a simple project. To find out students' interest in learning, a questionnaire was filled out via google form and interviews. The results showed that: (1) The level of conceptual understanding of the dynamic fluid material of the students reached 2.14 indicating the medium category (2) the ability level of students to make simple business plans reached 3 indicating the category began to develop and (3) the level of student interest in learning reached 75,19 indicates good category. So the application of entrepreneurship-based physics learning using the project-based learning method is quite good for IPS students in order to foster understanding of the concept of dynamic fluid material, making simple business plans, and interest in learning physics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa berdasarkan tes formatif berbasis multirepresentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Tes yang digunakan adalah pilihan ganda dengan alasan terbuka serta tingkat keyakinan. Subyek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 141 siswa kelas X MIPA di MAN 2 Lamongan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi miskonsepsi pada materi gerak jatuh bebas dan gerak vertikal ke bawah di setiap representasi. Persentase siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi pada representasi gambar sebesar 10,2%, representasi grafik sebesar 56%, representasi matematik sebesar 29,8% dan representasi verbal sebesar 56,5%. Representasi grafik dan verbal termasuk dalam miskonsepsi kategori tingkat sedang. Sedangkan pada representasi matematik dan gambar termasuk dalam kategori miskonsepsi tingkat rendah. Kata kunci: Multirepresentasi, Pemahaman Konsep, Tes Formatif

Abstract

Assessment is important in the world of education, assessment research is important for developing science and the quality of education, the purpose of this study is to determine the research trend of educational assessment topics on the google scholar database and to find out topics that are rarely used as a reference for future research, the method used is a literature review with a bibliometric approach, 200 literature results from the Publish or Perish (PoP) application are screened to highlight articles that have relevant topics and are not journals. The results of this study are 122 articles that have gone through the screening process, the majority of which were published in Indonesia and 2 articles in Malaysia, the trend of assessment research fluctuates greatly every year and at its peak in 2021. Researchers often publish in high standard journals such as sinta accreditation and scopus indexed, keyword bibliometric relationship maps obtained through VOSviewer with 9 clusters and title bibliometric relationship maps with 4 clusters, the density of both bibliometric maps produces topics and titles that are often used and rarely used.

Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) is part of the national assessment to measure minimum competency in reading literacy and numeracy. AKM questions consist of several cognitive levels. This quantitative descriptive research aims to analyze students' reading literacy and numeracy literacy skills in solving AKM questions in a scientific context in the field of physics regarding temperature and heat. The research was conducted in May 2024 at one of the state high schools in Sidoarjo Regency. The population in this study were 2 classes, namely XI 1 and XI 2, totaling 70 students. Data collection used interviews, questionnaires and AKM test instruments. The instrument used is the AKM test developed with a valid category and a reliability value of 0.701. The results of this research show that the minimum competency of most students is at the basic level at 31.43%, meaning that students have basic concepts, but have difficulty applying these concepts in real situations. The percentage of students in the proficient category is 28.57%, each in the proficient and need special intervention categories is 20%. Achievement of the greatest cognitive level of reading literacy at the level of evaluating and reflecting (evaluate and reflect) because the stimulus phenomena in the questions are often encountered by students. Achievement of the highest cognitive level of numeracy literacy at the application level (applying) because students are able to determine appropriate strategies and formulas in solving the problems presented in the questions. Abstract

This research aims to increase students' scientific literacy at SMPN 2 Buduran by implementing problem-based learning. The method used is two cycles of CAR. As a result, in the context aspect of cycle I, 60% of students got a score of B, which increased in cycle II to 62.9% of students got a score of A. In the content aspect of cycle I, 66% got a score of B, then experienced an increase in cycle II, as many as 57.2% of students got a score of A. In the competency aspect of cycle I, as many as 51.6% of students got a score of C; this increased in cycle II, as many as 60% got a score of B. The increase in scientific literacy can be seen in the increase in student learning outcomes. In cycle I, the average class score on the pre-test was 66.2 with a completion percentage of 11.4%, then increased on the post-test with an average class score of 79.4 and a completion percentage of 68.5%. In cycle II, the average class score on the pre-test increased rapidly to 78, with a completion percentage of 62.8%. Then, in the post-test, it reached an average score of 91.4 and a completion percentage of 100%. Problem-based learning has been proven to increase student's scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to identify high school students' numeracy literacy abilities and physics learning that trains numeracy literacy. The study involved 183 students from three high schools (SMAN A, B, and C) in Nganjuk district, along with 9 teachers. Research instruments included a Numeracy Literacy Test and Physics learning response questionnaire, both validated by experts. Results showed that students' literacy skills were high (81.5%), with interpretation and integration scoring highest (90.33%), followed by information finding (77.33%) and evaluation/reflection (77.13%). In numeracy abilities, understanding scored highest (88.47%), followed by application (72.37%) and reasoning (63.9%). The reliability analysis of the research instrument showed a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.87, indicating very good internal consistency in measuring the literacy-numeracy skills of high school students in Nganjuk Regency. This high reliability value provides a strong level of confidence in the research findings, including the average literacy skills (81.5%) and numeracy (78.25%). The overall average numeracy ability was 74.91%, falling in the sufficient category. Common teaching approaches included explanation with example problems, practice questions, and practicals (55%), along with the 5M approach (observe-question-try-analyze-communicate) used often (44.4%) or always (33.3%). Popular learning models included Direct Instruction (55.5%), Cooperative Learning (44.4%), Inquiry (22.2%), Problem-Based Learning (33.3%), and Project-Based Learning (66.6%). Other models included Discovery learning, Cooperative game learning, and differentiated PjBL. In conclusion, students' numeracy literacy ability reached a sufficient level at 78.5%.

Abstract

This study aims to train critical thinking skills and improve students' critical thinking skills, by conducting project-based learning with a science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematic (STEAM) approach. This research is applied to x-grade students and carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Wonoayu Sidoarjo. This study use a classroom action research design conducted over two cycles. Each cycle uses the pre-experimental design method of one group pretest-posttest. Data collection techniques use observation, and tests, which are then analyzed using non-parametric tests. The results of this study show that students' critical thinking skills increased after learning PJBL STEAM for two cycles. The project is carried out related to alternative energy content with the manufacture of solar automatic garden lights. The first cycle pretest-posttest increases from the low category to the sufficient category, and the second cycle seen an average increase between the pretest and posttest of 12.08%. Critical thinking skills must continue to be consistently trained in order to get maximum results, critical thinking can be trained with the right methods and innovations. Abstract

Developments in science and Indonesia continue to overgrow. One of them is proven by integrating knowledge through local wisdom in each of the studied knowledge. This study aims to explore and identify the potential of the local wisdom of Karapan Sapi Madura as teaching material on Newton's law material. This research uses qualitative descriptive type through Education analysis. Technique collection that data used is study literature, observation, and interviews. The results of this study present a linear study with knowledge of ethnoscience and ethnophysics on Karapan Sapi Madura. Besides that, study This study also found the potential for the local wisdom of the Madura Sapi Karapan to be used as teaching material on Newton's law material. In the future, local wisdom is expected of Karapan Sapi Madura that can be compiled in book form, e-books, or handouts that students and teachers can utilize to support learning physics by giving real examples and learning more meaning. Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of self-assessment in PBL-based learning of mechanical wave material to evaluate students' abilities in carrying out PBL learning activities. This type of research is a mixed-method study with two research methods, namely quantitative and qualitative, and then conclusions are drawn. The data from this study are the results of the pre-test and post-test of critical thinking skills, Self-Assessment assessments. The results of applying self-assessment in PBL-based learning were analyzed to determine the impact on PBL-based learning achievements. Additionally, the pre-test and post-test results of critical thinking skills were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to identify significant differences in average and n-gain. From this study, PBL-based Self-Assessment using an assessment instrument in the form of an assessment sheet showed that it could be used optimally in evaluating students' abilities in carrying out PBL learning activities. With the highest student completion in the cycles of “conducting individual and group investigations” and “analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process,” as many as 91.6% or 33 students.
