Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil identifikasi pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru pada topik Teori Kinetik Gas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode eksplorasi untuk memperoleh hasil identifikasi pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru Fisika pada materi teori kinetik gas. Instrumen tes yang digunakan berbentuk three-tier, kombinasi jawaban dikategorikan menjadi paham konsep, kurang paham konsep, tidak paham konsep, menebak, dan miskonsepsi. Hasil jawaban mahasiswa calon guru Fisika dikategorikan berdasarkan kombinasi jawaban dan dideskripsikan hasil temuannya. Secara umum, banyak mahasiswa calon guru Fisika yang paham konsep teori kinetik gas, namun masih ada yang mengalami miskonsepsi. Miskonsepsi paling banyak dialami mahasiswa calon guru Fisika pada sub topik persamaan keadaan gas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penerapan pembelajaran Inquiry Labs untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Penelitian menggunakan satu kelas eksperimen dan dua kelas replikasi untuk melihat konsistensi hasil penelitian. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode pengamatan dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil keterampilan proses sains peserta didik meningkat secara signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran Inquiry Labs dengan rata-rata skor n-gain pada ketiga kelas, yaitu 0,913; 0,902; 0,906 dalam kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran Inquiry Labs dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Kata kunci : Getaran Harmonis Sederhana, Inquiry Labs, dan Keterampilan proses sains.

Abstract

Kaca tellurite banyak diminati peneliti karena kemampuannya sebagai host laser. Kaca tellurite yang dikembangkan ialah kaca tellurite dengan komposisi Er:TZPBN [55TeO2 ? 35ZnO ? (5+x)PbO ? 2Bi2O3 ? (2-x)Na2O ? Er2O3] dengan x = 0; 0,5; 1; 1,5; 2; 2,5 dan 3 % mol. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pengaruh variasi PbO terhadap serapan optis kaca Er:TZPBN. Kaca Er:TZPBN dengan komposisi tersebut telah difabrikasi dengan metode melt quenching. Setelah kaca di-annealing dan di-polish, dilakukan karakterisasi, di antaranya berupa serapan optis. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan serapan optis meningkat dengan penambahan PbO. Berdasarkan data serapan optis, nilai energi band gap optis kaca TZPBN:Er menurun seiring dengan penambahan konsentrasi PbO. Rentang nilai energi band gap optis pada komposisi ini memungkinkan sampel digunakan sebagai bahan semikonduktor. Most of researcher interest to investigate tellurite glasses because of the capability as host laser. The tellurite glasses that develop is Er:TZPBN [55TeO2 ? 35ZnO ? (5+x)PbO ? 2Bi2O3 ? (2-x)Na2O ? Er2O3] with x = 0; 0,5; 1; 1,5; 2; 2,5 and 3% mol. This paper describe the effect of PbO variation on optical absorption of Er:TZPBN. The Er:TZPBN glass had been fabricated by using melt quenching technique. After annealing and polishing proccess, we characterized the optical absorption of glass. The result of the characterization showed that the optical absorption increased with increasing PbO. Based on optical absorption data, the optical band gap energy decreased with decreasing PbO concentration. The value of optical band gap energy for this composition showed that this samples can use as the semiconductor material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the integration of scientific literacy in the Case-Based Learning (CBL) model of students critical thinking skills. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with quantitative descriptive analysis techniques, and the research design used is non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this study were students of class XI Even Semester Academic Year 2019/2020 at SMAN 1 Gondang Nganjuk. The data used is a written test obtained from the results of pre-test and post-test, then analyzed using inferential statistics One-way ANOVA. The analysis shows that learning with the integration of scientific literacy in the CBL model influences students critical thinking skills. Learning with the integration of scientific literacy in the CBL model increases the critical-thinking skills of students with high categories, wherein the ?experimental class 1?, ?experimental class 2?, and the ?control class? get an N-gain score of 0.73, 0.72, and 0.35 respectively. Based on the N-gain score shows that the increase in critical thinking skills in the experimental class is higher than the control class. It can conclude that the integration of scientific literacy in the CBL model influences students critical thinking skills. Therefore, the integration of science literacy in the CBL model can further applied to other physics materials to improve critical-thinking skills. Abstract

This research aims to describe the problem-solving skills of students after learning with problem-based learning (PBL) model integrated by a means-ends analysis (MEA) strategy on global warming material content. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, which categorized into the true-experimental design, with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects in the investigations are students of class XI MNS in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year of State Senior High School 2 Sidoarjo which includes two experimental classes (XI MNS 1 and XI MNS 2) and one control class (XI MNS 7), whereas the learning model used is PBL model with MEA strategy applied to the "experimental classes" and the learning that commonly involves in school used for the control class. Data collection methods used are test methods and process assessment methods. The results of the pre-test and post-test analyzed by normality test, homogeneity test, paired t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and N-gain analysis. Based on data analysis, the results show that n-gain was in the high category and the improvement in students problem-solving skills in the experimental class is higher than the control class. It implied that the integration of PBL and MEA could implement to another physics material to improve the students problem-solving skills.Keywords: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Means-Ends Analysis (MEA), problem-solving skills

Abstract

The aim of this research was to produce a web based instrument test to assess higher order thinking skills that are feasible and to describe the profile of students higher order thinking skills. This research using Research and Development (R&D) model from Borg and Gall with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation ). Data collection techniques in this study are the validation method that done by three lecturers from the physic department of State University of Surabaya and test method that done by 29 students of class X MIPA-2 SMA At-Ta’miriyyah using Quizizz. The data that has been collected were analyzed using quantitative decriptive analysis method. The percentage of average theoritical validity in the realms of construction, language, and media is is 97.03% or in the very feasible category. The result of product trials on 29 students analyzed the level of distinguishing power, reliability, and item validity. From the analysis obtained empirical validity as many as 10 questions declared empirically feasible. The appropriate test instrument is then used to describe the profile of students higher order thinking skills abilities. A viable test instrument is then used to describe the student's high-level thinking ability profile. 44.83% of students in very high categories, 13.79% with good categories, 0% with sufficient categories, and 41.38% with less categories. The ability to think high level in the competency of analyzing (C4) is lower at 67.49% compared to the evaluating competency (C5) of 80.46%.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of the nature of science (NOS) and attitudes towards teaching the NOS. The research used the View on Science Education (VOSE) instrument that was  developed by Chen (valid and reliable) which online distributed to students of Physics Education Program from Surabaya State University and IKIP PGRI Pontianak, as well as students of Science Program from IAIN Ponorogo. The survey research method was conducted to determine the profile of students’ views on the NOS and science education. Respondents who filled out the research questionnaire were 102 students. Based on the survey results, the VOSE profile was obtained that the Science-Physics students had difficulty conceptualizing the general picture of VOSE because in some aspects of NOS it appeared that students experienced confusion.Science-Physics students have a positive attitude towards teaching NOS in terms of tentativeness, aspect of the nature of observation, as well as aspect of theory and law.However, Science-Physics students have negative attitudes towards teaching NOS in the aspect of the scientific method. Thus, the implication of this research requires that Science-Physics students learn and further research about the concept of NOS in order to have a correct understanding.  DOI: 10.29408/kpj.v4i2.2873

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat kaca tellurite yang sesuai untuk aplikasi laser infra merah dan menganalisis sifat optis kaca tellurite berupa serapan. Kaca tellurite yang dikembangkan ialah kaca tellurite dengan komposisi Er:TZPBN [55TeO2-35ZnO-(5+x)PbO-2Bi2O3-(2-x)Na2O-Er2O3] dengan x = 0; 0,5; 1; 1,5; dan 2 % mol. Kaca Er:TZPBN dengan komposisi tersebut telah difabrikasi dengan metode melt quenching. Setelah kaca diannealing dan dipolish, dilakukan pengukuran serapan optis kaca tellurite pada suhu ruang menggunakan Shimadzu UV-Vis Spectrophotometer pada rentang panjang gelombang 200-1100 nm. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa serapan optis meningkat dengan penambahan PbO. Serapan optis terbesar pada sampel 5 dengan konsentrasi 2% mol PbO. Dari data serapan optis, nilai energi band gap optis kaca Er:TZPBN juga telah ditentukan. Optical band gap energi menurun seiring dengan penambahan konsentrasi PbO. Kata kunci: serapan optis, kaca Er:TZPBN, energi band gap optis.

Abstract

Critical-thinking skill is one of the 21st-century abilities that students must have. This study aimed to analyze the critical thinking abilities to improve physics learning that was reviewed: overall, learning model, education level, subject matter, and the media used. This research method used meta-analysis. The meta-analysis research stage was to determine the research topic, decide data selection criteria, search for data, visualize VOSviewer, classify data information, calculate the effect size, and then analyze the data and conclude. The data collection technique used secondary data from previous research of 18 scientific publication articles. The data analysis technique used the effect size. This meta-analysis concluded that critical-thinking skills significantly influence physics learning, with an average effect size of 1.33 and an influence of 90%. Critical thinking skills in learning physics can significantly affect vocational education with the cooperative-learning time-token type model, using the subject of static fluid, and assisted by real learning media using a puzzle.

Abstract

Needs assessment aims to understand the requirements of learning in the COVID-19 pandemic era, the use of online learning platforms, the constraints and solutions offered, the "Merdeka Belajar" curriculum in this course, the challenges and needs in the future. It is an exploratory study for students need on the new learning condition because of the COVID-19 pandemic era. The data gathered from the questionnaire of some lectures and undergraduate programme of physics education students through an online survey also included observation and analysis from various sources. The results show the following facts. It needs online learning with a user-friendly device for students. There are multiple online education platforms based on learning activities, but some students have constraints on internet network stability. Another problem is the need for internet data packages that are not small in the online learning process, especially when using virtual face-to-face platforms. On the other hand, there was a reduction in the semester credit system's weight for the physics learning evaluation course in the "Merdeka Belajar" curriculum. The content of Bloom's taxonomy is quite dense and takes time to understand each level of thinking. So, the future challenge is to develop a learning media that students can use in studying Bloom's taxonomy topic and solve the problem of internet data packages and internet network stability. One alternative solution to learning problems is using learning media in electronic books that students can use offline.
