Abstract

The growth of education in the globalisation era demands a paradigm change in the learning process, especially in terms of assessment that emphasises the importance of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), which are no longer only focused on memorising and understanding basic concepts. This study aims to evaluate HOTS tests on renewable energy materials using the Rasch model as the main analysis technique. This research uses an evaluative design with a quantitative approach that aims to analyse the psychometric quality of HOTS test instruments objectively and systematically. The research subjects consisted of 71 learners selected through a purposive sampling technique from two classes in senior high school. The research instrument used was 10 multiple-choice questions with five answer options and analysed using Ministep software. The analysis results through the Wright map show that the distribution of students' abilities is close to a normal distribution. In contrast, the distribution of item difficulties has an uneven pattern, so that it does not cover the entire range of students' HOTS abilities. In addition, most of the items had adequate psychometric quality, but two items did not fit and needed special attention. Nevertheless, further analysis using the Item Characteristic Curve (ICC) revealed that item S3 indicated misfit, bringing the total to three items that did not fit the Rasch Model predictions. In addition, item S5 is included as a bias item. Overall, the instrument shows that the hierarchy of item difficulty is consistent and reliable, but it has limitations in sensitivity in distinguishing ability levels between learners. In addition, ICC analysis provides more sensitive detection of response pattern discrepancies, indicating the need for multiple analyses for comprehensive validation. Additional items are needed to comprehensively cover the spectrum of student abilities and improve the precision of identifying individual ability differences.

Abstract

In the world of education, formative assessment is critical because it is to know the growth of students when doing a lesson and get an idea regarding the way the teacher develops learning methods that occur. The purpose of the study was to determine the application of formative assessment to measure students' self-regulation. This study's data collection methods used questionnaires and test questions with data analysis techniques using qualitative descriptive. Respondents in this study amounted to 35 students of class XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 14 Surabaya. The results showed that self-regulation or the ability to regulate oneself in students could be known and measured using the application of formative assessment. The self-assessment results on students are more striking when measured using a questionnaire. They can use seven categories of self-regulation to assess and observe their expertise, skills, competencies, and performance presented in the form of a questionnaire. Self-regulation ability that can measure is undoubtedly beneficial for the future orientation of students in motivating and controlling their learning process. In addition, with the application of formative assessment, teachers get feedback on the learning process that is being developed to monitor the progress and growth of students during the learning process.

Abstract

Siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi tidak dapat menerima pengetahuan baru, jika siswa pernah mengalami miskonsepsi maka dapat dinyatakan siswa tersebut akan mengalami kesalahan secara berulang sampai siswa tersebut menyadari bahwa konsep yang mereka yakini benar adalah salah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk dapat mendeskripsikan validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen tes diagnostik berbasis three tier untuk materi fluida dinamis, dan mendeskripsikan profil miskonsepsi siswa yang telah diukur menggunakan hasil instrumen tes diagnostik berbasis three tier untuk materi fluida dinamis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilaksanakan pada sejumlah peserta didik. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil rekapitulasi penilaian ketiga validator terhadap instrumen three tier diagnostic test yang telah divalidasikan oleh ketiga validator dinyatakan sangat valid dan layak digunakan. Persentase miskonsepsi terbesar ada pada sub konsep Hukum Bernoulli sebesar 43%, hal tersebut dikarenakan siswa beranggapan jika tekanan pada bagian dengan luas yang sempit lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan bagian dengan luas yang lebih lebar, serta kecepatan aliran fluida di bagian sempit lebih rendah daripada di bagian lebar.

Abstract

Keterampilan literasi sains merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21 karena mendorong peserta didik untuk bersikap reflektif dan terlibat dalam penyelesaian masalah berbasis sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan dan mendeskripsikan kelayakan instrumen penilaian literasi sains yang terintegrasi dengan kearifan lokal permainan tradisional kapal otok-otok. Proses pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Instrumen divalidasi oleh ahli dan diuji pada 37 peserta didik kelas XI di SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. Hasil validasi menunjukkan kategori sangat valid untuk isi, konstruksi, dan bahasa, dengan persentase di atas 87%. Sebanyak 80% butir soal dinyatakan valid secara empiris dan reliabilitas instrumen berada pada kategori tinggi (0,7885). Profil literasi sains peserta didik didominasi oleh kategori rendah dan sangat rendah. Instrumen ini dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam konteks pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal.
