Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices and the productive age population on labor absorption in Indonesia during the demographic bonus era. The demographic bonus is a period where the productive age population is larger than the non-productive population, offering opportunities to increase economic growth through higher employment absorption. Using secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and various panel data regression analysis methods, this study finds that GRDP and the productive age population significantly influence labor absorption in Indonesia. These results highlight the importance of policies that support job creation to fully capitalize on the potential of the demographic bonus. Abstract

The labour force participation rate is a crucial indicator of a region's economic dynamics, since an imbalance between labour force growth and job creation can result in elevated unemployment and hinder regional development. The government attempts to increase labor force participation by improving the quality of human resources and setting the minimum wage. This study uses BPS data and panel data regression analysis to determine the effect of the Human Development Index (HDI) and MSE (District/City Minimum Wage) on the labor force participation rate in Central Java. The findings of this study show that MSEs have no significant impact on labor force participation in Central Java Province, but HDI has a significant impact.

The problem of household poverty in Indonesia is not enough to be analyzed at the macro level; it should also be analyzed in microeconomic settings. Research Objectives: This study uses secondary data sourced from the results of the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) surveys in 2007 and 2014 to determine the trends in household characteristics (social, economic, and demographic) and their influence on the level of welfare of poor households, the share of household spending inequality, and poverty alleviation strategies through a household-based policy approach in Indonesia.Research Methods: Meanwhile, the research method used is Multinomial Logistic Regression.Empirical Results: The results of the study found that the education level of the head of the household, place of residence, and household size contributed to the value of the opportunity of the household welfare position in each category. Meanwhile, Javanese have the highest level of inequality in terms of ethnic expenditure distribution and the lowest in terms of welfare.Implications: This study implies that the condition of the head of the family dramatically influences welfare at the household level.JEL Classification: C49, O11, Q01, R58

Abstract

Abstract

The introduction of Indonesian culture is carried out through an understanding of ethnicity, art, language, and customs. This cultural sharing is considered effective as a means to promote the nation's culture and increase understanding between nations as a bridge to improve cross-cultural understanding and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. By introducing Indonesia's cultural diversity to the Thai people, it is hoped that it can increase understanding of the importance of culture as a form of national identity and maintain social harmony. By using the observation approach, sharing season, and presentation to identify the impact of the introduction of Indonesian culture on the perception of Thai society, with the main focus on cultural understanding, we can establish international cooperation. This study shows that this cultural introduction initiative can enrich Indonesia's cultural insights in the Thailand community, especially in Thai Global Business Administration Technological College (TGBC), as well as make them aware of the importance of culture as a national asset that must be preserved and appreciated. This can open up opportunities for cooperation in academic and non-academic fields, which will later create a closer and mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate whether government budget allocations in the education, health, and social protection sectors have an influence on the Human Development Index and economic growth for 38 districts/cities in East Java Province. Using data from 2020, the panel data regression method was used to assess the interrelationship of various variables. The research results indicate that the health and education sectors have positive and significant impacts on the Human Development Index (HDI), which in turns has an impact on economic growth. In contrast, social protection expenditure is not significant to HDI or economic growth. This study confirms the importance of investment in the sectors of health and education in improve people's quality of life and economic productivity. This is proven by strengthening the human capital, which is the pillar of sustainable economic growth. However, for social protection spending, more targeted management is also needed to have a more optimal impact on human and economic development. The research gives insights for policy makers to design government strategies for inclusive and competitive empowerment.
