Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merumuskan strategi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi kewirausahaan sosial  untuk  membantu pengelola pendidikan nonformal (PNF) di perdesaan dalam rangka meningkatkan keberlanjutan layanan PNF. Pendidikan nonformal, yang mencakup Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) dan Lembaga Kursus dan Pelatihan (LKP), sangat diperlukan untuk memberikan kesempatan untuk belajar sepanjang hayat, terutama bagi mereka yang kurang beruntung dalam mendapatkan akses ke pendidikan formal. Diharapkan bahwa keterampilan kewirausahaan sosial yang dimiliki pengelola PNF akan membantu mencapai Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) dan meningkatkan keberlanjutan layanan PNF. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang didukung data kualitatif. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan melalui survei terhadap 276 pengelola PNF di daerah perdesaan; 163 dari mereka adalah sampel yang dipilih secara purposive. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, dan analaisis data menggunakan software SMARTPLS 3.0 untuk menganalisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi peningkatan kompetensi kewirausahaan sosial pengelola PNF dilihat berdasarkan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kompetensi kewirausahaan sosial berdasarkan model logic. Hasil analisis PLS menunjukan  bahwa faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kompetensi kewirausahaan sosial pengelola PNF adalah karakteristik individu yang terdiri dari usia, pendidikan formal, jenis pelatihan, durasi mengikuti pelatihan, pengalaman mengelola PNF dan motivasi mengelola PNF.  Oleh karena itu, karakteristik individu pengelola PNF perlu ditingkatkan agar kompetensi kewirausahaan sosial pengelola PNF dapat meningkatkan.

Abstract

In Indonesia, where cultural sensitivities and varying levels of awareness about sexual health exist, the need for tailored, culturally appropriate education is paramount. The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) plays a pivotal role in community health initiatives, including sexual reproductive health education, by leveraging its wide network of volunteers. These volunteers are often on the frontline, engaging directly with the community, including adolescents, who are at a critical stage of developing attitudes and behaviors regarding their health. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a sexual reproductive health training program for Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) volunteers in Langkat and Jombang districts, employing a mixed-methods approach based on the Kirkpatrick four-level evaluation model. The study utilizes an evaluative methodology with the Kirkpatrick model, involving data collection techniques through surveys, tests, interviews, and observations. It applies purposive sampling to 65 training participants, focusing on individuals who meet specific and relevant criteria. Data analysis is tailored to each level of Kirkpatrick's evaluation: Reaction, Learning, Behavior, and Results. Findings indicate a high level of participant satisfaction with the training material and its delivery, as well as an increase in knowledge and skills regarding adolescent sexual reproductive health. Despite significant improvements, the study identifies areas requiring enhancement. Evaluation success criteria were set using a Likert scale, allowing for objective and standardized measurement. The training program successfully enhanced the awareness and skills of PMI volunteers in addressing adolescent sexual reproductive health issues. This study provides essential insights for future improvements and development of training programs, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach that involves technical, interpersonal, cultural aspects, and self-reflection in adolescent reproductive health education.

Abstract

The lack of formal job access and limited employment sectors in rural areas have increased unemployment and poverty rates. Expanding rural entrepreneurship is a potential solution to create job opportunities and increase rural communities' income. Therefore, a comprehensive strategy needs to be developed to strengthen social capital and support the sustainability of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). This research examines efforts to build entrepreneurship in the village environment through innovations implemented in BUMDes. It explores innovative strategies used by BUMDes to enhance the village's economic potential, focusing on developing local businesses, empowering the community, and improving access to resources. The research methods used include surveys, interviews, and quantitative data analysis. The results show that BUMDes and their partners have a good relationship, and BUMDes managers regularly communicate with their partners. However, BUMDes managers must also establish good communication with community members and local leaders. If BUMDes managers can build strong relationships with village residents, they will find it easier to obtain support, information, and helpful advice for managing BUMDes. BUMDes managers are categorized as having a high level of support for those in the community who have difficulty accessing business capital loans. Furthermore, the results of the path analysis reveal that there is no statistically significant relationship between the variables of experience (X1), motivation (X1), ICT media role (X3), and social capital capacity (Y1). This means that in the context of this study, these three independent variables do not significantly impact social capital capacity (Y1). These findings can guide the government, community, and relevant stakeholders in supporting efforts to build rural entrepreneurship through BUMDes innovations.

Abstract

Background -. Educational disparities, dropout rates, and limited PKBM (Community Learning Center) management capacity remain key challenges. This study takes Bekasi Regency—an urban–semi-urban area with strong entrepreneurial commitment—as its research locus. Research Urgency - Strengthening the managerial and entrepreneurial capacity of PKBM leaders is crucial to sustaining Indonesia’s non-formal education ecosystem. Despite the government’s focus on lifelong learning and community empowerment, many PKBMs struggle to operate independently due to weak institutional management, limited innovation, and low digital adaptation. Addressing this issue is urgent to ensure that community-based education remains relevant, financially viable, and aligned with the goals of inclusive human development in the digital era. Research Objective - This study aims to analyze the effect of entrepreneurial competencies on the empowerment of PKBM managers in Bekasi Regency, and to identify generational patterns in management practices. The research further seeks to propose a competency-based empowerment model that integrates entrepreneurial skills, innovation, and digital networking to enhance the sustainability of community learning centers. Research Methods - This study uses a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial competencies and PKBM managers’ empowerment in Bekasi Regency. Quantitative data from 50 purposively sampled managers were analyzed using CFA and PLS-SEM, while qualitative interviews provided contextual insights, validated through triangulation Research Findings - Entrepreneurial competencies show a strong positive association with PKBM managers’ empowerment (path coefficient = 0.971, p < 0.001), accounting for 94.2% of the variance explained by the model. The analysis also indicates a generational divide: senior managers (>7 years’ experience) tend to rely on trial-and-error approaches (78%), whereas junior managers (<3 years) display higher levels of innovation (92%) but face limitations in professional networking Research Conclusion  - This study demonstrates that entrepreneurial competencies significantly strengthen the empowerment of PKBM (Community Learning Center) managers, while revealing a generational management gap - senior managers rely more on traditional approaches whereas junior managers exhibit greater innovation but face networking constraints. The findings underscore the importance of implementing financial training, cross-generational mentoring, and digital network strengthening programs to transform PKBMs into self-sufficient institutions that support national educational development, with further research needed to adapt this model across different regions by accounting for local contextual factors and technological integration Research Novelty/ Contribution - This study proposes a competency-based empowerment model for PKBM managers that demonstrates empirical validity within the research context, while acknowledging limitations related to sample size, geographic scope, and reliance on self-reported data. Its practical contribution lies in offering a context-specific intervention framework tailored for urban–semi-urban areas in developing countries. By bridging theory with field implementation, the study provides both theoretical insights and applied relevance for strengthening non-formal education in Indonesia, particularly in addressing management challenges faced by community learning centers.

Abstract

The Home Learning Program (BDR) or Distance Learning (PJJ) is very appropriate to implement during the Covid-19 pandemic as an effort so that the learning process can continue. This study aims to view differences in students' science learning outcomes in the energy source material between those using the Online and Offline Distance Learning systems. This type of research is quasi-experimental, with sample selection using sample probability with a simple random sampling method. The data collection instrument in this study used a test and was analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test. The result of data analysis showed that there significant differences between the science learning outcomes of elementary school students in the energy source materials using the match and offline systems. The results showed that the average score obtained by the group of elementary school students who taught using the Online Distance Learning system, which was 78.41, was higher than the average score obtained by the group of students taught by the Offline Distance Learning system, which was 72.66. Based on the average value of the two treatments, it can be interpreted that the learning outcomes of elementary school students using the Online Distance Learning system are better compared to the learning outcomes of elementary students using the Offline Distance Learning system for science learning outcomes. This research can be developed by educators at the elementary school level to maximize distance learning from home learning to increase elementary school students' knowledge during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The use of technology in education tailors’ content and teaching methods to meet individual learning needs; however, significant challenges remain in its practical application. This study analyzes the implementation of adaptive technology in adult education and applies andragogical concepts in personalized, interactive, and problem-based learning. The research employed a quantitative survey with 249 respondents from various educational institutions and used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the relationship between adaptive technology and andragogical learning strategies. The results indicate that adaptive technology has a positive and significant impact on andragogical learning strategies. Indicators such as technology accessibility, personalized learning, interactivity, and system integration support problem-based learning, self-directed learning, continuous feedback and evaluation, and contextual learning. The high outer loadings values demonstrate the significant contribution of each indicator to their constructs, and an R Square value of 0.369 indicates that 36.9% of the variability in andragogical learning strategies can be explained by adaptive technology. Adaptive technology can improve the quality of adult education by providing a more personalized, independent and interactive learning experience. So adequate infrastructure and educator training are needed to realize the full potential of adaptive technology.

Abstract

In Indonesia, numerous initiatives have been implemented to address the issue of stunting; however, these efforts have yet to yield optimal results. This study aims to critically evaluate the effectiveness of an extension program that utilizes a dialogical approach in modifying maternal behaviors related to the provision of adequate nutrition for their children. In the context of non-formal education, extension serves as a crucial learning process for adults, particularly in enhancing their overall quality of life. The research was conducted using a quantitative methodology, employing survey techniques to gather data, which were subsequently analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical methods. This study is among the first to empirically compare dialogical and traditional extension approaches within the context of rural Indonesia, providing robust quantitative evidence that interactive, collaborative learning environments significantly outperform conventional one-way communica-tion models in promoting sustainable behavioral changes among mothers. The findings reveal that the extension program, when executed with a dialogical approach, exerts a significant positive influence on altering mothers' nutritional practices for their children. This outcome stands in stark contrast to traditional, linear extension models, which typically rely on one-way communication from the instructor to the participants. In contrast, the dialogical approach fosters an interactive environment where mothers are encouraged not only to ask questions and share personal experiences but also to engage in a more collaborative learning process that ultimately enhances their behavioral change towards better nutrition.

Abstract

Pariwisata berbasis masyarakat merupakan suatu pendekatan dalam pengembangan pariwisata yang melibatkan dan memberdayakan masyarakat setempat secara aktif dalam seluruh proses pariwisata, mulai dari perencanaan hingga pengelolaan destinasi pariwisata. Pendekatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat sadar wisata melalui pendekatan inovatif yang menggabungkan keterlibatan dan partisipasi masyarakat untuk mencapai tujuan pemberdayaan pada ruang lingkup sosial, ekonomi dan budaya. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode partisipatif melibatkan masyarakat setempat yang tergabung kelompok sadar wisata dalam pengembangan Wisata Edukasi Berkelanjutan untuk mempromosikan keunikan dan potensi wisata di Desa Sukaharja. Pelatihan ini diadakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan potensi dan sumber daya lokal. Tujuan utama kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini pertama, mengembangkan model pariwisata berbasis masyarakat yang berkelanjutan di Desa Sukaharja melalui pendekatan Green Tourism Action Plan. Kedua, meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat lokal dalam mengelola wisata edukasi berkelanjutan, dengan fokus pada aspek sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya. Ketiga, memperkuat kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan dan budaya lokal sebagai aset pariwisata. Keempat, mendorong kolaborasi multi-stakeholder (pemerintah, masyarakat, dan pengusaha) dalam menciptakan ekosistem pariwisata yang berkelanjutan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Participatory Approach (pendekatan partisipatif), yang menempatkan masyarakat sebagai subjek, bukan objek, dalam proses pengembangan pariwisata. Pendekatan ini didukung oleh prinsip-prinsip Green Tourism Action Plan, yaitu: keberlanjutan lingkungan, ekonomi hijau, edukasi ramah lingkungan kepada masyarakat lokal dan wisatawan. Green tourism action plan merupakan konsep pariwisata yang menekankan pada prinsip keberlanjutan dalam pemanfaatan sumber daya alam dan budaya lokal. Tujuan utama dari green tourism adalah untuk mengurangi dampak negatif pariwisata terhadap lingkungan dan memastikan bahwa aktivitas wisata dapat berlangsung dalam jangka panjang tanpa merusak ekosistem yang ada. -- Community-based tourism is an approach to tourism development that actively involves and empowers local communities throughout the entire tourism process, from planning to the management of tourism destinations. This approach aims to enhance the capacity of tourism-aware communities through innovative strategies that integrate community involvement and participation to achieve empowerment goals within the social, economic, and cultural spheres. This initiative employs a participatory method, engaging local residents who are members of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in the development of Sustainable Educational Tourism to promote the unique characteristics and tourism potential of Sukaharja Village. The training program is designed to improve community members’ skills in utilizing local potential and resources effectively. The primary objectives of this community engagement initiative are fourfold: First, to develop a sustainable, community-based tourism (CBT) model in Sukaharja Village through the implementation of the Green Tourism Action Plan. Second, to enhance the capacity of local communities in managing sustainable educational tourism, with a focused integration of social, economic, and cultural dimensions. Third, to strengthen community awareness regarding the critical importance of preserving environmental integrity and local cultural heritage as core assets for tourism development. Fourth, to foster multi-stakeholder collaboration—among government institutions, local communities, and private tourism entrepreneurs—in establishing a resilient and sustainable tourism ecosystem. This initiative adopts a Participatory Approach, positioning local communities not as passive beneficiaries but as active agents and co-creators in the planning, implementation, and governance of tourism activities. This approach is grounded in the core principles of the Green Tourism Action Plan, namely: environmental sustainability, green economic development, and environmentally conscious education directed toward both local residents and tourists. The Green Tourism Action Plan is a strategic framework that emphasizes sustainability in the utilization of natural and cultural resources. Its fundamental objective is to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of tourism while ensuring that tourism activities can be maintained over the long term without degrading local ecosystems.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan Curriculum Vitae (CV) merupakan bagian dari strategi penguatan keterampilan kerja peserta didik Paket C di SKB Negeri 22 Jakarta Timur. Pelatihan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan peserta dalam menyusun dokumen lamaran kerja, serta belum tersedianya program pembelajaran kontekstual yang mendukung kesiapan kerja secara langsung. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam menyusun CV secara mandiri dan profesional. Metode pelatihan menggunakan pendekatan andragogi melalui ceramah interaktif, diskusi, studi kasus, praktik langsung, dan coaching individual. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam dua sesi dengan total 13 peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari pre-test sebesar 84,61% menjadi 93,08% pada post-test. Seluruh peserta berhasil menyusun CV yang sesuai dengan struktur dan isi yang tepat. Selain itu, pelatihan mendorong refleksi diri peserta terhadap pengalaman hidup mereka sebagai potensi yang dapat dikembangkan. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam menumbuhkan keterampilan praktis, kepercayaan diri, serta kesadaran karier peserta didik kesetaraan. Dengan demikian, pelatihan pembuatan CV dapat menjadi model penguatan program pendidikan nonformal yang kontekstual, aplikatif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja.

Abstract

Program Pelatihan Kerajinan Tangan Meronce di SKB 11 Manggarai dirancang untuk memperkuat keterampilan vokasional dan menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan di kalangan warga belajar Paket C. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan, pelatihan ini mengadopsi pendekatan learning by doing dan metode partisipatif untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang kontekstual dan aplikatif. Kegiatan difokuskan pada pengenalan teknik dasar meronce serta praktik langsung pembuatan produk seperti gelang dan gantungan kunci. Evaluasi menggunakan model CIPP menunjukkan keberhasilan pelatihan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan teknis, kepercayaan diri, dan kreativitas peserta. Dampak positif dirasakan tidak hanya oleh peserta, tetapi juga oleh lembaga mitra, yang memperoleh penguatan kapasitas layanan pendidikan berbasis keterampilan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan sederhana seperti meronce memiliki potensi ekonomi yang dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut melalui pelatihan lanjutan dan kolaborasi lintas sektor. Artikel ini merekomendasikan penguatan strategi keberlanjutan dalam bentuk pelatihan desain produk, pemasaran digital, serta pengembangan merek sebagai bagian dari pemberdayaan ekonomi komunitas.
