Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Student Centered Learning (SCL)-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum at MA Nurul Hidayah Lecari and to examine teachers’ and students’ perceptions of its implementation. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that PAI learning has begun to adopt SCL principles through group discussions, presentations, collaborative projects, and independent exploration. However, the learning process remains largely teacher-centered, indicating that SCL implementation has not yet been fully optimized. Supporting factors include a conducive pesantren environment and the flexibility of the Merdeka Curriculum, while the main obstacles consist of limited facilities, diverse student learning readiness, and assessment practices still focused on cognitive achievement. The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of SCL implementation in PAI learning within a pesantren-based madrasah context under the Merdeka Curriculum. This study implies the importance of strengthening teacher competencies and developing a more participatory learning environment to support the transformation of student-centered PAI learning. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) berbasis Student Centered Learning (SCL) dalam kerangka Kurikulum Merdeka di MA Nurul Hidayah Lecari serta mengkaji persepsi guru dan peserta didik terhadap implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran PAI telah mulai menerapkan prinsip-prinsip SCL melalui diskusi kelompok, presentasi, proyek kolaboratif, dan eksplorasi mandiri. Namun, proses pembelajaran masih didominasi pendekatan yang berpusat pada guru sehingga penerapan SCL belum optimal. Faktor pendukung implementasi meliputi lingkungan pesantren yang kondusif dan fleksibilitas Kurikulum Merdeka, sedangkan hambatan utama berupa keterbatasan fasilitas, kesiapan belajar peserta didik yang beragam, dan budaya evaluasi yang masih berorientasi kognitif. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada analisis implementasi SCL dalam pembelajaran PAI pada madrasah berbasis pesantren dalam konteks Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya penguatan kompetensi guru dan pengembangan lingkungan belajar yang lebih partisipatif guna mendukung transformasi pembelajaran PAI yang berpusat pada peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between school infrastructure quality and student discipline from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education at SMK Darut Taqwa Purwosari. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 46 eleventh-grade students selected from a population of 309 students using simple random sampling. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The research instruments met validity and reliability standards, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.902 for the infrastructure variable and 0.919 for the student discipline variable. The results indicate that: (1) school infrastructure quality is categorized as moderate at 71.7%; (2) student discipline is also classified as moderate at 69.6%; and (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between school infrastructure and student discipline, as evidenced by t-count = 3.982 > t-table = 2.015 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The regression equation obtained is Y = 31.533 + 0.667X, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.265, indicating that school infrastructure contributes 26.5% to student discipline, while the remaining 73.5% is influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings suggest that adequate and well-managed school facilities support the internalization of Islamic values, such as responsibility, obedience, and trustworthiness, which in turn foster disciplined student behavior. Therefore, optimizing school infrastructure management is an important strategic effort in strengthening religious character development in vocational schools. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kualitas sarana dan prasarana sekolah dengan kedisiplinan siswa dalam perspektif Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMK Darut Taqwa Purwosari. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 46 siswa kelas XI dari populasi 309 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket skala Likert, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,902 untuk variabel sarana prasarana dan 0,919 untuk variabel kedisiplinan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kualitas sarana dan prasarana sekolah berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 71,7%; (2) tingkat kedisiplinan siswa juga berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 69,6%; dan (3) terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara sarana prasarana sekolah dengan kedisiplinan siswa, dibuktikan melalui nilai t_hitung sebesar 3,982 > t_tabel 2,015 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Persamaan regresi yang diperoleh adalah Y = 31,533 + 0,667X dengan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,265, yang menunjukkan bahwa sarana prasarana memberikan kontribusi sebesar 26,5% terhadap kedisiplinan siswa, sedangkan 73,5% dipengaruhi faktor lain di luar penelitian. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sekolah yang memadai berkontribusi dalam mendukung internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam, seperti tanggung jawab, kepatuhan, dan amanah, sehingga dapat membentuk perilaku disiplin siswa. Oleh karena itu, optimalisasi pengelolaan sarana dan prasarana perlu menjadi perhatian strategis dalam penguatan karakter religius di sekolah kejuruan.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of multicultural education, active campus participation, and challenges in implementing moderation and tolerance in higher education. In an increasingly diverse society, universities play a pivotal role in promoting religious moderation and tolerance among students. However, despite these efforts, various challenges hinder their successful implementation. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews with faculty and students, along with observational data, to analyze the integration of multicultural education and its impact on students' attitudes towards tolerance. The research identifies three key findings: (1) multicultural education fosters religious moderation through both theoretical learning and practical experiences; (2) active participation in campus activities such as interfaith dialogues and cultural workshops enhances students' understanding and appreciation of diversity; (3) external factors like social media and initial student resistance pose significant challenges to the development of moderation. The study contributes to the body of knowledge on multicultural education in higher education and recommends that universities adopt more inclusive policies and encourage broader student involvement in multicultural activities. Future research should expand on these findings by examining the impact of media and external societal influences.
