Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness in project-based learning of waste cooking oil recycling to improving students’ high order thinking skills. The research design used was the The Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this research was all of students in grade XI MIA one of Senior High School in Bandarlampung. The sample of the research was the students of class XI MIA 4 and XI MIA 6. The data analysis technique used was non parametric statistic test using Mann Whitney U to postestt value. The results of this study it can be seen from postest value. Postest value in the experiment class that is greater than the postest value in the control class as well as the <g> on the medium categorized in the experimental class and in the low control class indicate that project-based learning of waste cooking oil recycling can improve students' high order thinking skills. Keywords: high order thinking skills, waste cooking oil, project-based learning

Abstract

Nowadays the development of thinking skills has become the main focus in educational research. Standard of graduate competency mandate that graduates of schools to universities in Indonesia must have thinking skills.  Related to this, the goal of this quasi-experimental study was to describe the effectivity of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) student worksheets to improve students' critical thinking skills (CTS) in the topic of mixtures separation. This study was carried out in the SMPN 1 Pugung by using the Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design. The effectivity of PjBL student worksheets measured based on the n-gain and the effect size values. Statistically, the n-gain value of the experimental class was higher than the control class. The effect size value was in medium categorized.  These results indicated that the PjBL student worksheets were effective to improve students' CTS in the topic of mixtures separation. Keywords: student worksheets, project-based learning, critical thinking skills, mixtures separation

Abstract

Sejak bergulirnya revolusi industri (RI) 4.0 tidak hanya sektor industri saja yang terdampak, sektor pasar tenaga kerja dan pendidikan juga turut terdampak. Penyiapan SDM yang berkualitas dan memiliki keterampilan-keterampilan abad XXI agar dapat menghadapi tantangan RI 4.0 perlu dilakukan sejak di bangku SD, salah satunya melalui pembelajaran IPA. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan tujuan melatih guru-guru SD di Kota Metro Provinsi Lampung dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran IPA yang melatihkan keterampilan-keterampilan abad XXI. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, workshop, kegiatan mandiri, dan presentasi. Dari kegiatan ini diperoleh nilai rerata n-gain sebesar 0,780 dengan kategori tinggi dan 85% guru peserta kegiatan dinyatakan terampil dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran IPA yang melatihkan keterampilan-keterampilan abad XXI. Kata kunci: revolusi industri 4.0, keterampilan abad XXI, perangkat pembelajaran IPA SD AbstractSince the onset of the industrial revolution (IR) 4.0, not only the industrial sector has been affected, but also the labor market and education sectors have been affected. Preparation of the qualified human resources and the 21st-century skills to be able to deal with the challenges of IR 4.0 needs to be done in elementary school, one of which is through natural science learning. This activity is carried out to train elementary school teachers in the Metro City Lampung Province for making natural science learning instruments that practice 21st-century skills. This activity is carried out by lecturing, workshops, independent activities, and presentations. From this activity, an average n-gain value of 0.780 was obtained with a high category and 85% of the teachers participating in the activity were declared skilled in compiling science learning tools that train the 21st-century skills. Key words: industrial revolution 4.0, the 21st-century skills, natural science for elementary school learning instruments

Abstract

Nowadays, studies related to the integration between religion and science were attracting the interest of many researchers from religious universities in order to confirm the paradigm of the general public about the dichotomy between religion and science. This study used the ADDIE instructional design to develop an inorganic chemistry textbook that was integrated with science and religion, describing the textbook's characteristics as well as responses from lecturers and students about the developed textbook. This textbook's features are based on chemical representations (macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic) and are integrated with Qur’an verses and research findings. Validators have given an excellent assessment of the aspects of construction, readability, content suitability, and presentation of the material from the developed textbook with percentages of 100%, 92.5%, 96.88%, and 88.57%, respectively. Lecturers have responded favorably to aspects of content suitability and presentation, as well as attractiveness and usefulness. The graphic aspect, as well as the attractiveness, have elicited very positive responses from students. Based on this, the developed textbooks could be approved for use.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan gawai dalam pembelajaran kimia belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Konsep kimia yang bersifat abstrak dan sulit dikonstruksi oleh siswa dapat diatasi dengan memanfaatkan gawai. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru kimia terkait perangkat lunak kimia berbasis gawai sebagai media dalam proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan PKM diikuti oleh guru-guru kimia dari 7 kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Lampung. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan di FKIP Universitas Lampung dengan mengadopsi model pelatihan. Hasil evaluasi CIPP menunjukkan bahwa rerata n-gain yang diperoleh berkategori tinggi (0,934) dan semua guru peserta kegiatan dinyatakan terampil dalam menggunakan perangkat lunak kimia berbasis gawai sebagai media pembelajaran

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu olahan pangan, tempe biasanya dibuat dari peragian kedelai dengan jamur Rhizopus sp. Sering kali terjadi kenaikan bahan baku tempe tersebut karena ketersediaannya yang terbatas di pasaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat tempe dengan biji karet sebagai bahan baku alternatif, menentukan waktu inkubasi optimumnya, dan mengetahui sifat organoleptiknya berdasarkan respon panelis. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi waktu 24 jam, 36 jam, 48 jam, 60 jam, dan 72 jam dan pengujian sifat organoleptiknya menggunakan 10 orang panelis. Hasil penelitan ini mendapatkan waktu inkubasi optimum tempe biji karet selama inkubasi 48 jam. Hasil uji organoleptik menunjukkan bahwa tempe biji karet memiliki rasa yang khas seperti tempe kedelai dengan kriteria sangat tinggi serta memiliki aroma yang khas seperti tempe kacang kedelai, warna yang putih, dan tekstur yang lunak dengan kriteria tinggi.

Abstract

Kurikulum 2013 diberlakukan dalam rangka mempersiapkan generasi yang berkualitas untuk menghadapi tantangan di era revolusi industri 4.0. Pada jenjang pendidikan dasar, kurikulum 2013 menuntut agar peserta didik memiliki keterampilan abad 21, baik berpikir dan bertindak, melalui pendekatan ilmiah sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan anak yang relevan dengan tugas yang diberikan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan untuk guru-guru SD di Kota Metro Provinsi Lampung dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan profesionalisme guru melalui pelatihan penyusunan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan-keterampilan abad 21. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan penyampaian materi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan lokakarya. Di akhir kegiatan peserta diberi tugas mandiri untuk dipresentasikan sesuai dengan waktu yang disepakati. Berdasarkan hasil evalusasi CIPP diperoleh informasi bahwa rerata n-gain berkategori tinggi dan 85% guru peserta kegiatan dinyatakan terampil dalam menyusun rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan-keterampilan abad 21. Kata kunci: profesionalisme guru SD, perangkat pembelajaran IPA, keterampilan abad 21 Abstract The 2013 curriculum was implemented to prepare the quality generation to deal with the challenges in industrial revolution 4.0. At the elementary level, the 2013 curriculum demands that students possess 21st-century skills, both thinking, and acting, through scientific approaches by the stages of child development relevant to the given task. This activity was carried out for elementary school teachers in Metro City Lampung Province with aims to developed teachers’ professionalism through training for making natural science lesson plans to improve 21st-century skills. This activity began with the delivery of material and then continued with the workshop. At the end of the activity, the participants were given an independent task to be presented by the agreed time. Based on the results of the CIPP evaluation, information was obtained that the average n-gain in a high category and 85% of the teachers participating in the activity were declared skilled in compiling natural science lesson plans to improve 21st-century skills. Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials to improve problem-solving skills. This research was conducted at YP Unila Bandar Lampung High School by using the Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The results showed that the average n-gain in the experimental and control classes were 0.68 (medium category) and 0.45 (medium category), respectively. Based on statistical test results there are differences in the average n-gain, so it can be said that discovery learning on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution material is effective in improving problem-solving skills

Abstract

Abstract. Conventional plastics made from petroleum polymers were the largest contributor to solid waste on earth. Environmentally friendly bioplastic fabricated by compositing starch and natural fibers were proposed to be a solution to this problem. The purpose of this research was to synthesize bioplastic from water hyacinth fiber composite with cassava starch and test its mechanical properties. Bioplastic fabrication was using melt intercalation method using water hyacinth fibers (WHF) with and without alkali treatment mixed with cassava starch (CS) and glycerol as plasticizer. The resulting bioplastic were characterized with FT-IR and tested for mechanical properties. The mechanical test results showed that water hyacinth fiber alkaline treated/cassava starch (WHF-AT/CS) bioplastic has tensile strength, % elongation, and water absorption values of 1.226 MPa, 3.33%, and 10.26%, respectively. While the bioplastic water hyacinth fiber untreated/cassava starch (WHF-UT/CS) has a tensile strength test value, % elongation, and water absorption of 0.306 MPa, 1.67%, and 11.39, respectively.  Therefore it can be said that WHF-AT/CS bioplastic has better mechanical properties when compared to WHF-UT/CS bioplastic.Keywords:Biocomposite, Bioplastic, Cassava Starch, Water Hyacinth Fiber

Abstract

Today, the problem of conventional plastics whose raw materials are derived from petroleum derivatives is still the center of attention because they are difficult to degrade. To overcome these problems, various efforts have been made, one of which is by utilizing bioplastics from natural fibers and starch. The purpose of this research is to fabricate mangrove bark fiber composites with tapioca starch into bioplastics and test their water absorption. Bioplastics were made by melt intercalation method with the addition of glycerol as plasticizer. The resulting bioplastics were characterized by FT-IR and tested for water absorption. The water absorption of bioplastics from fibers without NaOH-soaked was the highest at 5.54%. Bioplastics from and with NaOH immersion had the highest water absorption of 3.59%. Thus it can be said that bioplastics from NaOH-soaked fibers are better than bioplastics from fibers without NaOH-soaked.
