Abstract

Perkembangan bisnis motor yang pesat, akan mendesak peningkatan industri pernak-pernik kendaraan bermesin sebagai sekutu bisnisnya. Dengan demikian, inovasi diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan serat normal/alam sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan papan hias industri motor untuk menggantikan serat buatan/sintesis, misalnya ijuk yang sangat melimpah. Tujuan di balik penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh varietas panjang serat dengan resin poliester. Strategi yang digunakan adalah uji pengaruh dengan variasi panjang serat 20 mm, 40 mm, 60 mm dengan bagian volume 50% serat dan 50% poliester. Hasil kekuatan impact komposit bertambah dengan memperluas panjang serat, berdasarkan hasil ANOVA, diketahui bahwa dengan panjang serat 60 mm memiliki rata-rata paling besar senilai 0,03493 joule/mm2.

Abstract

Kelapa merupakan salah satu pohon yang tumbuh dengan baik hampir di seluruh wilayah Indonesia terutama di Sumatera Selatan dimana produksi buah kelapa setiap harinya cukup tinggi. Orang biasanya menggunakan linggis untuk membersihkan batok kelapa dengan tangan. Hal ini cukup berbahaya, apalagi jika dilakukan dalam jumlah banyak. Dalam tugas akhir ini,menyajikan metodologi dan implementasi numeric dari program CAD-CAE tenaga Kelelahan dan stress analysis, desain konstruksi mesin pengupas kelapa dengan sistem lima kelapa sederhana yang mudah digunakan, aman dan efektif. Tujuan utama dari pengujian ini adalah untuk menganalisis konstruksi mesin yang dibuat dengan Autodesk Inventor, sehingga mesin yang dirancang dapat bekerja dengan aman.

Abstract

This research goal is to determine the effect of temperature and screw angle to extrusion speed with High Density Polyethylene as Material on Single Screw Extrusion Machine. On this research use 2 factor, first Temperature with 160°C, 170°C, and 180°C. and the second one is Screw Angle with 0°, 15°, 25°. The roller and puller are setted up to 16 Rpm, data from the research analyze with ANOVA method. And results from the data researcher got the fastest on Screw Angle 25° with 170°C Temperature. And the slowest on Screw Angle 0° with 160°C Temperature. The conclusion that researcher got is Temperature doesn’t effect on extrusion speed because it doesn’t significant, Whereas the Screw Angle have an effect on extrusion speed.   Keywords : Extrusion Machine, Temperature, Screw Angle, ANOVA, Speed.

Abstract

New extruder with recydled HDPE material (oil bottle), ABS, Polypropylene. High quality filaments are characterized by high durability and constant diameter. In this study, we used material variables dan helix angles. Accumulation of plastic waste is a major problem  in many countries, including Indonesia. On the other hand, there is also a rapidly growing technology, namely 3D printing. With the development of plastic based 3D Printing, it has become very important to make 3D printing innovations more environmentally friendly. This can be achieved by using 3D printing filaments made from recycled plastic. This research is envolving. Combining 0o , 15o, and 25o extrusion screwing with HDPE, ABS, and polypropylene materials, the average diameter is  close to 1.75mm to 1.76mm. Because = 0.519553 > 0.05 (2;4) = 6,9443. However after receiving the optimization parameters, the final result shows a defect in filament quality. Make the surface rough and easy to bend. Therefore, it is not possible to create object on a 3D printer using filaments made of polypropylene and recycled ABS and HDPE plastic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the quenching process that uses used oil as a cooling medium with temperature variations of 750oC, 850oC, and 900oC with a holding time of 30 and 40 minutes to the hardness of the eye of the brongsong crowbar which is often subjected to dullness. The main material used by the people of Sukadana village in making this brongsong crowbar is pipa carbon steel ASTM A106 grade B. This pipe belongs to medium carbon steel because it has a carbon element of 0.30%. After the heat treatment process of the brongsong crowbar specimen, hardness testing was carried out using a rockwell hardness test tool. The results of the hardness test were analyzed using ANOVA calculations. From the results of this study, it was found that the brongsong crowbar specimen experienced an increase in hardness, with the highest hardness value of 52.6 HRC obtained from the quenching process using used oil as a cooling medium and with a holding time of 40 minutes at a temperature of 850oC, while the lowest hardness value is obtained from the results of the quenching process using used oil cooling media with a holding time of 30 minutes at a temperature of 750oC of 38.8 HRC. So that it can be known that the highest hardness value is obtained from the results of the quenching process using used oil cooling media with a holding time of 40 minutes at a temperature of 850oC.

Abstract

Technological developments move very quickly. Machines are one of the technologies that were created, from existing machines being innovated according to the needs of the times, one of which is 3D Printing. This machine has a special sophistication, which is capable of printing in the form of a prototype whose form is with a drawing on the design in a CAD/CAM application. using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene material. The reason for this test is because the cost of mold production is cheaper than using a molding machine that is commonly used in general, the level of precision is higher than making molding using conventional machines. The method of analysis used the experimental method to determine the effect of treatment on other factors under controlled conditions. Where the resulting mold is tested for surface roughness. From the test results, the data used will be obtained in the form of statistical data analysis, which is carried out using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The analysis that has been applied, concluded that the layer height: low, standard, high has an effect on the roughness of the printed molding, and it can be proven by Fcount 13.026 > Ftable 2.56. with a significant 0.014 < 0.05. The lowest roughness results are printed using a layer height: 0.16 mm/s (high quality).

Abstract

Various innovations have been developed by researchers to obtain and develop new natural fibers because of its advantages. Some of the advantages of natural fibers such as excellent physical properties, abundant natural materials, do not damage the environment and lower production costs. This study aims to produce alternative natural fibers by utilizing fiber from oil palm fruit which is commonly found in South Sumatra. The research was carried out by preparing resin and catalyst with a ratio of 100 ml: 1 ml which was then poured into the mold as much as 25% and continued by arranging palm fruit fiber randomly. After 8 hours, the resulting composite material is soaked for 2 hours with NaOH alkaline liquid with variations of 0%, 5% and 7%. The mechanical properties of the palm fruit fiber composite increased after being treated with alkali, where the highest values ​​were tensile strength 22.46 N/mm2, impact strength 0.15 J/mm2 and bending strength 87.50 N/mm2 obtained at variations of alkaline NaOH of 7 %.

Abstract

Variations of roller weights of 7 grams, 9 grams and 10 grams applied variation of the CVT spring from the standard, pressure strength 10 – 15%, as well as pressure strength 20% has an impact on fuel consumption. Because more gasoline or fuel is consumed in the combustion chamber on larger engine turns, this phenomenon occurs. Effect of fuel consumption on the use of roller weight variation using CVT spring variation on engine rotation variation. So as a whole the test data from the table as well as from the graphs can be taken that the best fuel consumption or efficiency, then the best choice is a roller of 10 grams using a standard spring at RPM 3000 yielding 11.33 ml/min and in RPM 6000 yields 23.50 ml / min rather than using a pressure spring strength of 10 – 15% and 20% even when the engine turns high at 9000 RPM that is 46.10 ml / minute rarely done using such RPM because of motorcycles used for day – day

Abstract

The research employs a thermodynamic simulation method using an Engineering Equation Solver (EES), relying on theoretical calculations. This method is integrated into a geothermal power plant, precisely focusing on geothermal source temperatures of approximately 95ºC. The investigation centers on the heat transfer process within a high-temperature heat transfer fluid from geothermal sources, conveying stored heat to the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) evaporator. Three specific working fluids, R134a, R11, and R22, examine working fluid selection for ORC at 95ºC. The results highlight the R11 organic fluid as an optimal compromise, excelling in two crucial criteria. Firstly, R11 exhibits the highest net mechanical power, = 34.81 kW compared to alternative fluids. Secondly, it boasts the best energetic efficiency of the cycle, registering  = 16.01%, outperforming both R134a ( = 13.17%) and R22 ( = 12.64%). In summary, this study conducts a focused analysis of the energy aspects of an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) for electricity production using geothermal sources and organic fluids. Operating at a geothermal source temperature of 95ºC with a water flow rate of 80 lt/s and environmental conditions at 20ºC, the parametric study emphasizes the superiority of the R11 organic fluid. R11 emerges as the optimal choice, demonstrating the highest net mechanical power and superior energetic efficiency compared to alternative fluids, thereby contributing valuable insights to advancing sustainable and efficient energy technologies.

Abstract

Aluminum smelting is a large-scale business or UMKM to produce household appliances or as a machining aid. However, the aluminum smelting industry still uses many conventional furnaces that cannot be carried anywhere. Seeing this condition so that the aluminum smelting industry does not have difficulty in storing the melting furnace. This study was conducted to change the knowledge of heat and find the efficiency of portable melting furnaces using used oil. By varying 2 variables, namely the pressure setting of the wind speed from the blower of 7.61m / s, 7.76m / s, 7.92m / s and the oil tap discharge of 0.002 l / s, 0.012 l / s, 0.013 l / s as fuel for the portable melting furnace. And from 9 tests with different variations have obtained efficient results. Using a blower wind speed of 7.92 m/s and an oil discharge of 0.013 l/s for the melting time, which only takes 13 minutes, using 0.3 liters of oil as fuel and producing heat in the melting furnace of 7,022.0647 w/m℃ in one melting. Overall, increasing the blower speed and large oil discharge can increase the efficiency of the melting process by reducing the melting time and oil consumption, although the effect on temperature does not show a consistent pattern.
