Abstract

Material baja seringkali digunakan dalam dunia otomatif yang menuntut material tersebut harus memiliki kekuatan yang tangguh, handal dan ekomonis. Salah satu material yang digunakan yaitu S45C, dimana material tersebut diberikan perlakuan permukaan dengan cara Pack Carburizing    dengan    temperatur  870°C   dan   variasi    media    pendingin    cepat    (quenching) berupa   oli   bekas,   oli   baru,   dan   minyak   goreng   bekas. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian menggunakan alat kekerasan Rockweel   Hardness   Tester dan dilakukan analisa   data hasi    uji    menggunakan    analysis    of    varians    (ANOVA). Hasil yang didapat nilai kekerasan untuk material S45C dengan pendingin oli bekas, oli baru dan mnyak goring bekas yaitu 101,9 HRC; 98,4 HRC dan 102,8 HRC.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that manufactures sugar. The situation of firm X cannot be described as ideal due to the need for extensive study, particularly on the cane cutter's blade. A common indication of cane cutters is a rapid rate of wear. In this study, researchers employed a qualitative technique based on the taguchi method. The taguchi approach is a modern engineering technique that strives to improve the quality of products and processes while reducing costs and maximizing resources. The taguchi experimental strategy is more effective because it permits research incorporating a large number of variables and numbers. Since a larger hardness response is preferable, the largest confirmation value is the ideal parameter value for the knife manufacturing process on the cane cutter. When measuring the hardness of the blade material on a cane cutter, temperature is a highly important component. According to the findings of the hardness test, the hardest material at a temperature of 750oC and a cooling medium of NaCl solution with a hardness value of 12.4 HRC is, and the hardest material at a temperature of 800oC and a cooling medium of NaOH solution with a hardness value of 59.7 HRC is.

Abstract

By using water on the gilding, the blacksmith's Egrek was hardened.  The Egrek must have tough hardness. The low hardness causes the Egrek to wear out frequently, so consumers criticize the hardness and toughness of blacksmith products.  Due to the wrong heat treatment, the Egrek cause is easily destroyed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of quenching treatment with various cooling media such as water, used oil, and cooking oil on increasing the hardness of blacksmith products. This research method is an experimental quenching using water, used oil, and cooking oil at 800°C, 850°C, and 900°C, with a holding time of 30 minutes. Rockwell hardness test, statistical data processing using ANOVA and supported by the use of expert design software. Having an average carbon content of 0.379%, Egrek's raw material is made of medium carbon steel. Based on the results of the quenching process with water, used oil, and cooking oil affect hardness. The quenching process of the cooking oil cooling medium that occurs at 800°C with a hardness value of 50.1 HRC produces a minimum hardness value, while the maximum average hardness lies in the water cooling medium with a temperature of 900°C of 60.4 HRC. The results of the percentage contribution of each are used oil by 96.37%, cooking oil by 96.61%, while water cooling media contributed by 88.41%. So that the cooling media for used oil and cooking oil can also be used as an alternative choice of cooling media.

Abstract

The community service program, in collaboration with Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Amalul Khair in Palembang, aims to address the urgent need for an efficient water pump system, replacing the existing labor-intensive, unhygienic manual pulley system. The school, with approximately 388 students and 27 staff, faces difficulties meeting daily water demand of 1,500–3,000 liters, resulting in long queues and hygiene issues that disrupt religious and learning activities. The program's objectives include designing an energy-efficient pump with a capacity of at least 0.8 liters/second, providing a 1,500–3,000 liter storage tank and automatic sensors, and offering training on pump operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Additionally, sustainability will be ensured through manuals, internal technical teams, and partnerships. The method involves outreach, training workshops, installation, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Expected outcomes are a reliable, hygienic, energy-efficient water pump system, improved ablution facilities, operational manuals, a trained technical team, and enhanced capacity to manage water facilities, reducing costs. Ultimately, the program will improve religious practices, health standards, and overall comfort in the learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji ketahanan jagung setelah panen dan dapat menghemat waktu pengeringan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen dan dilakukan pengujian pengeringan yang dihasilkan oleh alat pengering di dalam ruang pengeringan apakah dapat mempersingkat waktu dan menghasilkan pengeringan yang sempurna terhadap jagung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja alat pengering sangat dipengaruhi oleh ukuran bukaan katup. Penggunaan katup ½ inci menghasilkan penurunan berat jagung paling signifikan, yaitu sebesar 2,57 kg dalam 3 jam atau rata-rata 0,85 kg per jam. Katup ¾ inci menghasilkan penurunan berat sebesar 0,79 kg, sedangkan katup 1 inci hanya menghasilkan penurunan 0,15 kg. Sebagai perbandingan, pengeringan dengan sinar matahari selama 3 jam hanya mampu menurunkan berat jagung rata-rata sebesar 0,26 kg atau 0,086 kg per jam. Alat pengering jagung berbasis mini boiler terbukti jauh lebih efisien dibandingkan pengeringan konvensional dengan sinar matahari, dengan kemampuan mempercepat proses pengeringan hingga hampir 10 kali lipat. Penggunaan katup berukuran kecil (½ inci) memberikan hasil pengeringan paling optimal. Alat ini direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan dan diterapkan sebagai solusi pengeringan jagung yang tidak bergantung pada cuaca, terutama bagi petani di daerah pedesaan.
