Abstract

Adolescence is a critical developmental period where individuals begin to build more complex social relationships outside the family. Parenting styles are believed to play a crucial role in shaping adolescents' ability to form attachments with peers, which in turn affects their emotional and social well-being. This research aims to determine the relationship between parenting styles and peer attachment among adolescents at High School X. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design and survey method. The research subjects were high school students at High School X who were selected according to the research criteria, with instruments in the form of a parenting style scale and a peer attachment scale. Data analysis was conducted using a Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and Pearson and Spearman correlation tests. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between parenting styles and peer attachment (; ), although the strength of the relationship was relatively low. These findings indicate that parenting styles play a role in shaping adolescents' attachment to their peers, but they are not the only factor that influences the quality of adolescents' social relationships

Abstract

Abstract Mixed-type schizoaffective disorder is a severe mental disorder characterized by the persistent presence of psychotic symptoms accompanied by fluctuations in mood, including depressive and manic episodes, which result in significant impairment in psychosocial functioning. This study aims to provide an in-depth description of the psychological dynamics of a patient with mixed-type schizoaffective disorder using a Freudian psychoanalytic approach. The study employed a descriptive qualitative design with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and were subsequently analyzed descriptively and integratively within a psychoanalytic theoretical framework. The findings indicate that the participant’s condition is rooted in long-standing psychological conflicts originating in childhood, marked by a rigidly dominant superego, weakened ego functioning, and emotional repression resulting from oppressive family relationships and repeated experiences of social rejection. These conditions contribute to the emergence of psychotic and affective symptoms as manifestations of the ego’s failure to manage internal drives and external reality. This study concludes that a psychodynamic understanding is essential to complement medical interventions in order to achieve more comprehensive and sustainable treatment for patients with mixed-type schizoaffective disorder.

Abstract

Flow experience in mountain climbing can be understood as an individual’s state of complete absorption when facing challenges that match their abilities. This study aims to explore the meaning of flow experience in mountain climbers from a phenomenological perspective and examine its implications for educational leadership. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed, using in-depth interviews and member checking to ensure the validity of the data. The interview results were analyzed through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings revealed five key themes of flow experience among mountain climbers: (1) engaging in meaningful experiences by enjoying nature and fostering personal and social connections, (2) achieving a state of immersion characterized by focus, safety, and self-control, (3) relying on preparation, skills, and decision-making to face climbing challenges and risks, (4) using mountain climbing as a process for self-development, reflection, and value formation, and (5) experiencing positive emotional, physical, and psychological effects. These insights suggest that the principles of flow, such as focus, intrinsic motivation, and adaptive decision-making, can be applied to educational leadership to enhance teacher engagement, decision-making under pressure, and personal development.
