Abstract

Early Warning Score (EWS) is an early warning system starting from early detection, making decisions before the patient experiences an emergency condition. The parameters in the EWS method are level of consciousness, respiration or exhalation, oxygen saturation, supplemental oxygen, temperature, pulse rate, and systolic blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between knowledge level and nurse compliance of nurses in carrying out early warning score at BIMC Hospital Kuta. The EWS assessment is supported by nurses’ education level and work experience. This study used a cross-sectional approach correlation design with a total sampling technique of 58 nurses. In this study, it was found that the good knowledge level of nurses at BIMC Hospital Kuta was 86.2%, while the compliance level of nurses in carrying out the early warning score was found that the nurses obeyed in carrying out an early warning score of 86.2%. Data processing used the chi square statistical test. The results of the statistical test p value 0.000, which showed that there was a significant correlation between knowledge level and nurse compliance in carrying out the early warning score and r value = -0.619.

Abstract

Nurse preparedness is a factor that needs to be considered in order to suppress work safety in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Early nursing intervention plays an important role in the prevention, preparedness, and response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other emerging infectious diseases. A nurse preparedness questionnaire about emerging infectious diseases needs to be compiled as an instrument that can measure preparedness related to unpredictable emerging infectious diseases. The aim of this study was to analyze the validity and reliability of the nurse preparedness questionnaire in dealing with emerging infectious diseases in Bali. This research method is a cross-sectional study involving all nurses in the emergency department at Klungkung Hospital as many as 30 people. Conducting a literature review and adopting the WHO COVID-19 preparedness questionnaire developed the instrument. The questionnaire consists of 4 dimensions with a total of 28 statement items covering the dimensions of knowledge on preparedness for emerging infectious diseases, dimensions of facility preparedness and response readiness in triage, dimensions of the effective response of nurses, and dimensions of preparedness and readiness of nurses for personal protective equipment. The stratified scale in this questionnaire uses a modified Likert scale with 4 answer choices of answers choices (4) strongly agree (3) agree (2) disagree and (1) strongly disagree. In instrumental testing, all 28 items of the instrument were confirmed through content validity (Pearson Product Moment). Using internal consistency reliability, the study found reasonable inter-item reliability for all items (Cronbach’s α: > 0.90)

Abstract

Hospitalization is a process of planning or emergency reasons that require children to be hospitalized for therapy. Being hospitalized is a big problem and creates fear and anxiety for the children. One of the efforts to overcome anxiety is by doing bibliotherapy. Doing bibliotherapy will provide many benefits, namely reducing stress or pressure faced, in terms of emotion bibliotherapy can help restore the condition of individuals who have trauma, eliminate boredom experienced by someone, and also reduce tension in oneself. Reading is a distraction that can lower stressor hormones, activate natural endorphins, and divert attention from fear, anxiety and tension, improve the body's chemical system, lower blood pressure and slow down breathing, heart rate, pulse, and brain wave activity. The purpose of this study was to identify anxiety experienced by children undergoing hospitalization before and after performing bibliotherapy and to analyze the effect of bibliotherapy on reducing anxiety in children underwent hospitalization.The research design used was pre experimental one-group pretest-posttest. This research was conducted at Bhayangkara Denpasar Hospital in December 2020. The number of respondents in this study was 37 respondents who were determined using non-probability sampling, namely purposive sampling. Respondents performed bibliotherapy every day for 45 minutes. The analysis used the Wilcoxon test to determine the effect of bibliotherapy on reducing anxiety of children undergoing hospitalization.The results of the bivariate analysis used the Wilcoxon test and the p value was 0,000 because the p value <α (0.05), then H0 was rejected. This means that there was an effect of bibliotherapy on decreasing anxiety of children undergoing hospitalization at Bhayangkara Hospital in 2021.

Abstract

Background: The older one is, the more likely a person experiences physical, physiological, mental, spiritual, economic and social problems. Depression is among the mental health issues that older people experience the most frequently. Depression in the elderly is usually caused by the loss of loved ones, physical functions, and inability to adapt. There are various types of therapy for depression, for example drug and physical therapy, one of which is exercise. Objective: To determine the level of depression before and after elderly exercise and the effect of elderly exercise on depression. Method: This research used a pre-experimental research method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The reachable population in this study were 31 elderly at Posyandu Banjar Bina Kelurahan Usada. In accordance with the sample size formula, the researcher took 24 elderly as samples using purposive sampling based on the predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The required data was collected using the GDS (Geriatric Depression Scale) questionnaire issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Results: Based on their the level of depression, the mean score before the exercise for the elderly was a figure of 5.71 (moderate depression) whereas after the elderly exercise, the level of depression mean score decreased 2.88 (normal). The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test also showed that the significance value (p-value) was 0.000 < 0.05; therefore, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Conclusion: There was an effect of implementing elderly exercise on reducing the level of depression in the elderly at Posyandu Lansia Banjar Bina Kelurahan Usada.

Abstract

The Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Program carries out steps to empower community capacity so that they are able to reduce the level of risk and impact of disasters that arise in disaster management and emergency response. Communities living in disaster-prone areas can play a direct role as helpers. One of the first steps is to provide training to communities in disaster-prone areas. Communities living in disaster-prone areas must increase their capacity, including those in Banjar Krisnantara, Tibubeneng Village. The area of Banjar Krisnantara, Tibubeneng Village is one of the areas in Badung Regency with densely populated settlements and is geographically a vulnerable area to floods and tsunamis. Therefore, community-based disaster preparedness training is urgently needed through a participatory approach in Banjar Krisnantara, Tibubeneng Village as part of an effort to empower people who are vulnerable to safety and health issues due to disasters. This activity involves 2 lecturer members who have eligibility qualifications and 3 students whose activities are recognized with credits in accordance with the Independent Learning principles. This activity was carried out from 11-27 June 2023 which was divided into 3 stages, namely the orientation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The results of effective activities in increasing community preparedness in Banjar Krisnantara, Tibubeneng Village with all specific objectives achieved include the existence of a safe gathering point, increasing the level of community preparedness and the emergence of the forerunner to the formation of a Sibat team by all heads of families in Banjar Krisnantara who participated in the training.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Nyeri kepala merupakan masalah yang sering dirasakan oleh penderita hipertensi, disebabkan karena kerusakan vaskuler akibat dari hipertensi pada seluruh pembuluh perifer. Penggunaan VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) dalam terapi back massage  dapat  mengaktivasi respon relaksasi. Respon relaksasi yang ditimbulkan menyebabkan terapi back massage  dengan menggunakan VCO dapat menurunkan nyeri kepala pada penderita hipertensi.Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh pemberian back massage menggunakan virgin coconut oil terhadap intensitas nyeri kepala pada lansia hipertensi. Metode: Desain penelitian pra eksperimental dengan rancangan one-group pre-post test design. Sampel penelitian adalah pasien hipertensi sebanyak 32 orang dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan Visual Analogue Scale, analisis menggunakan uji paired t test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nyeri kepala pre-test 6,09 dan post test 2,94. Hasil uji paired t test didapatkan nilai p-value = 0,001< 0,05 menunjukkan ada pengaruh pemberian back massage menggunakan virgin coconut oil terhadap intensitas nyeri kepala pada lansia hipertensi. Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa back massage menggunakan virgin coconut oil berpengaruh signifikan terhadap intensitas nyeri penderita hipertensi.

Abstract

Sejak adanya pandemic Covid-19, terjadi pergeseran paradigma dalam dunia pendidikan termasuk pendidikan keperawatan yang awalnya luring menjadi online ataupun blended learning yang memerlukan waktu panjang untuk beradaptasi. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam situasi blended learning adalah metode simulation multimedia interactive teaching. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari metode simulation multimedia interactive teaching pada pembelajaran CPR dengan melihat skill dan efikasi diri mahasiswa dalam melakukan high quality CPR. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di STIKES Bina Usada Bali dengan melibatkan 70 orang mahasiswa semester VI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan pendekatan Pre-post test without control group dengan membandingkan skill dan efikasi diri mahasiswa semester VI Keperawatan dalam memberikan high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) sebelum dan setelah mengikuti metode simulation multimedia interactive learning. Skill mahasiswa dievaluasi berdasarkan 3 indikator yang di rekomendasikan oleh AHA (2015) dan efikasi diri mahasiswa akan dinilai menggunakan kuisioner efikasi Basic Resuscitation Skills Self-Efficacy Scale (BRS-SES). Hasil uji T-Test Berpasangan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan nilai mean pada variabel skill CPR dan self efikasi sebelum dan setelah responden mengikuti metode simulation multimedia interactive learning dengan nilai p-value (0.001), p <  (0.05). Oleh karena itu, metode simulation multimedia interactive teaching menjadi pilihan yang dapat diaplikasikan pada pembelajaran mahasiswa keperawatan dalam situasi blended learning.   Since the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a paradigm shift in the world of education, including nursing education from offline to online or blended learning which requires a long time to adapt. One of the learning methods that can be used in blended learning situations is the interactive multimedia teaching simulation method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the interactive multimedia teaching simulation method in CPR learning by looking at students' skills and self-efficacy in performing high quality CPR. This research was conducted at STIKES Bina Usada Bali involving 70 semester VI students. This study used the pre-experimental method with the Pre-post test without control group approach by comparing the skills and self-efficacy of semester VI Nursing students in providing high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before and after following the simulation multimedia interactive learning method. Student skills are evaluated based on the 3 indicators recommended by the AHA (2015) and student self-efficacy will be assessed using the Basic Resuscitation Skills Self-Efficacy Scale (BRS-SES) efficacy questionnaire. The results using Paired T-Test showed that the mean value of the variable CPR skill and self-efficacy increased before and after the respondents followed the interactive multimedia learning simulation method with a p-value (0.001), p < α (0.05). Therefore, the interactive multimedia teaching simulation method is an option that can be applied to nursing student learning in blended learning situations

Abstract

Latar belakang dan tujuan: Anamnesa merupakan salah satu proses pengkajian untuk mengetahui keluhan yang dialami oleh anak dengan melihat data subyektif dan obyektif dari pasien. Kebutuhan rasa nyaman diperlukan untuk membuat anak menjadi kooperatif selama prosedur anamnesa berlangsung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mengetahui tingkat kooperatif anak selama proses anamnesa tanpa menggunakan alat kesehatan yang bermotif (stiker) dan menggunakan alat kesehatan yang bermotif (stiker) di IGD RSAD Tk. II Udayana Denpasar. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan post test only non equivalent control group design. Sampel dari penelitian ini yaitu pasien yang berobat di Instalasi Gawat Darurat RS Tk. II Udayana Denpasar yang berjumlah 20 orang dimana 10 orang masuk dalam kelompok intervensi dan 10 orang masuk dalam kelompok kontrol yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik non probability sampling yaitu purposive sampling. Hasil: Dari hasil penelitian penggunaan alat kesehatan bermotif (stiker) kepada anak usia pra sekolah yang sedang dilakukan anamnesa di IGD RSAD Tk. II Udayana Denpasar diperoleh data anak yang awalnya tidak kooperatif saat belum diberikan intervensi menjadi lebih kooperatif setelah diberikan intervensi penggunaan alat kesehatan bermotif. Sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol anak tetap tidak kooperatif. Simpulan: Anak yang awalnya tidak kooperatif saat belum diberikan intervensi menjadi lebih kooperatif setelah diberikan intervensi penggunaan alat kesehatan bermotif.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nurses who work at the Public Safety Center (PSC) 119 need to have knowledge and disaster management readiness.. Knowledge is the main factor and is the key to preparedness. Preparedness is one part of the disaster management process and in the concept of disaster that is developing now, the importance of preparedness is one of the important elements of prevention activities that are pro-active in disaster risk reduction, prior to the occurrence of a disaster. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between the level of disaster knowledge and disaster management readiness nurses in Gianyar PSC 119. This study uses a correlation research design, with a total sample of 39 people. Sampling technique by non probability sampling, namely total sampling. The instrument for collecting data is using a knowledge questionnaire about disasters and disaster management readiness. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho test. The level of knowledge about disasters in nurses was mostly categorized as sufficient, namely as many as 20 respondents (51.3%). The readiness of disaster management in nurses was mostly categorized as moderate, namely as many as 20 respondents (51.3%). The results of the Spearman Rho test obtained a value of p = 0.001 and a value of r = 0.528, so it can be concluded that there was a relationship between the level of disaster knowledge and disaster management readiness nurses in Gianyar PSC 119, with a medium correlation strength. It is recommended to nurses to increase disaster management knowledge and readiness.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolisme tubuh menahun yang dapat diderita seumur hidup dan dapat menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi, salah satunya ulkus diabetikum. Perilaku pencegahan kondisi tersebut menjadi sangat penting agar komplikasi dapat dihindari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah hubungan pengetahuan perawatan kaki terhadap perilaku pencegahan ulkus diabetikum pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Puskesmas II Denpasar Timur. Metode: penelitin ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 143 orang dengan sampel berjumlah 58 orang. Analisis bivariate dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Rank Spearman dengan tingfkat signifikansi sebesar 5% (α=0,05). Hasil: ada hubungan pengetahuan perawatan kaki terhadap perilaku pencegahan ulkus (p value 0,036 dan nilai koefisien korelasi 0,687). Diskusi: pengembangan upaya peningkatan kesejahteraan hidup pasien dengan diabetes mellitus khususnya dalam pencegahan ulkus diabetikum dan perawatan kaki diabetes dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan sebab pengetahuan merupakan dasar terbentuknya perilaku.
