Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of agility and coordination training on optimizing the physical condition of volleyball players. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a two group pretest-posttest pre experiment approach. The sample in the study was the entire population, namely 12 Cendrawasih volleyball club players. The average pretest value of group A is 13.67, group B has an average value of 14.33. While the average posttest value of group A is 14.33, group B has an average value of 21.83. Furthermore, based on the results of the IBM SPSS 22 test, the normality test of the pretest and posttest results of group A obtained each Sig value. 0, 415 > 0.05 and Sig. 0,415 > 0,05. The pretest and posttest results of group B obtained a significance value of 0.493 > 0.05 and 0.425 > 0.05, respectively. This means that the research data is normally distributed paired sample test. Pair 1 obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Pair 2 obtained a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.002 < 0.05 Homogeneity test of group A posttest data and group B posttest data 0.605 > 0.05 This means that there is an effect of agility training on physical condition. Independent sample T-Test test obtained Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.843 > 0.05, meaning that there is no difference in the effect of the influence of the physical condition of volleyball players between group A (agility) and group B (coordination).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of shuttle run training in improving footwork agility of badminton athletes PB Mandiri Husada Palopo. Reliability of footwork is very important in this game, but often athletes experience problems coordinating foot movements that affect performance. Shuttle run training was chosen because it mimics the movements in badminton games with fast and repetitive movements. This research method uses a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 15 athletes PB Mandiri Husada Palopo aged 13-16 years. Data was collected through initial and final tests to compare changes in footwork agility after training. Results showed significant improvements in agility categories, with more athletes achieving "Good" and "Very Good," and fewer "Deficient." Achievement time was also reduced from pretest (13.9 seconds) to posttest (11.74 seconds). Statistical analysis showed a P value or Sig. (2-tailed) is smaller than α (0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This confirms that shuttle run training effectively improves footwork agility in badminton athletes.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement of underhand passing skills by implementing the partnered approach method in mini volleyball. The study employs a one-group pretest and posttest design, conducted solely on a single group without a control or comparative group. The sample consists of 30 students participating in extracurricular volleyball activities. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling. The results of this research indicate that the partnered training method proves to be effective in enhancing the learning outcomes of Mini Volleyball's underhand passing technique among students of SMA Negeri 5 Palopo. This is evident through the increase in the average scores of students following a series of training and interventions. The significant improvement is observed in the comparison of the average scores between the pretest and post-test phases. In the pretest phase, the average score of students was 67, whereas in the post-test phase, the average score increased to 80. Furthermore, based on the findings and t-test analysis, the obtained P-value or Sig. (2-tailed) is smaller than α (0.000 < 0.05). This indicates the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1) and the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0).

Abstract

The low speed of the scythe kick is a serious problem for students in the Tapak Suci MTsN Kota Palopo extracurricular program. Initial observations show that the majority of students are in the “very poor” category for scythe kick speed. This study aims to determine the effect and compare the effectiveness of resistance band training and zig-zag running on improving kicking speed. The method used is a quantitative experiment with a pretest-posttest two-group design. The sample consisted of 20 students who were purposively divided into two groups, each receiving different training treatments. The results of the study were significant in both groups. The resistance band group experienced an average increase from 13.50 to 21.90, while the zig-zag run group increased from 12.90 to 19.70. The paired sample t-test showed a significant effect of both exercises (sig. 0.000), but the independent sample t-test (sig. 0.83) showed no significant difference in effect between the two methods. The conclusion of this study is that both resistance band and zig-zag run exercises are equally effective in increasing the speed of the roundhouse kick, although resistance band exercises provide a higher average increase. A combination of both methods is highly recommended in training programs for optimal results.

Abstract

The background of this study is the importance of dribbling techniques in futsal, but the basic dribbling skills of futsal extracurricular students at SMAN 3 Palopo are still not optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of agility training and speed training on improving dribbling skills, as well as comparing the effectiveness of the two training methods. The method used was a quantitative experiment with a two group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 students divided into two groups: group A was given agility training (zig-zag run) and group B was given speed training (shuttle run), each for 16 sessions. The research instrument used a dribbling test. The data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test. The results showed that both agility and speed training had a significant effect on improving dribbling (p < 0.05). However, the independent sample t-test proved that agility training was significantly more effective than speed training. The conclusion of this study is that although both exercises are effective, agility training has a greater impact on improving students' futsal dribbling skills. These findings recommend that coaches prioritize agility training in dribbling technique development programs.
