Abstract

The use of technology or digital media during the Covid-19 pandemic as learning media for early childhood is essential. The lack of variation in digital media or technology used by teachers during online learning is the background for this research. The researcher sees the need for the development of interesting animated videos that can improve the development of children's language and art during pandemic. Edpuzzle is an animated video application that children and teachers can use to improve children's language and artistic development. Edpuzzle-based animated video was developed based on the results of needs analysis with animated videos created through PPT and modified using the voiceover feature. The theme chosen in this study is transportation with the sub-theme of buses, trains, and planes. The research subjects are 4 children aged 4-5 years. The data collection techniques used were observation checklists, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation which were analyzed quantitatively, descriptively and qualitatively. The results of all validation assessments are at average value of 4.1 with a very suitable category to be used. This media can also improve the language and art development ; that is, children acquire new vocabularies or language and express their art through free drawing, coloring and collaging

Abstract

Lately, we have encountered a lot of character decline, such as a lack of understanding of courtesy to parents. This is of great concern to early childhood educators because character values should be instilled from an early age so that good character is realized in accordance with the values adopted by the Indonesian nation. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with 14 children in Kindergarten B at the Bina Insan Sejahtera School, Banjarmasin as subjects. Researchers collected data using the method of observation, interviews with the teacher concerned and documentation. The results of this study are, with the method of telling the story of Prophet Musa AS, it can develop AUD characters. This can be seen that children have good character in terms of character and good morals.

Abstract

Numeracy are two skills that develop from an early age and become important factors that determine academic success later in life. Children demonstrate basic critical, creative, and collaborative thinking skills. Children can recognize and see relationships between patterns, symbols and data, and can use them to solve problems in everyday life. Numeracy skills in early childhood are also related to basic problem-solving abilities and the application of mathematics in everyday life. Not just number counting skills, but also includes algebraic thinking, geometry, measurement, data analysis and chance. The knowledge, skills, behaviors, and tendencies a person needs to be able to use math in a variety of situations. The knowledge, skills, behaviors, and tendencies a person needs to be able to use math in a variety of situations. Numeration refers to the basics of mathematical reasoning acquired at an early age. This study examines numeracy intelligence through pairing activities. The subjects of this study were group A children in PAUD Terpadu Plus Al-karimah as many as 16 children.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of recognizing letter recognition among children. Then this study aims to explores the effectiveness of the traditional palm boat game in enhancing letter recognition skill. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over two cycles each comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection the study involved early childhood students at Dharma Wanita Ngompro 2 Kindergarten. The findings revealed significant improvements in the children's ability to recognize letters. During the first cycle, participants demonstrated progress, though some required additional guidance. By the second cycle, nearly all children achieved proficient letter recognition, alongside marked increases in motivation and learning engagement. The study highlights the traditional palm boat game as an innovative, enjoyable, and effective pedagogical tool for early literacy development. Its integration into educational strategies both in classrooms and at home can foster foundational skills while preserving cultural play-based learning. Educators and parents are encouraged to adopt this method to support children’s cognitive and linguistic growth dynamically and meaningfully.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of children who are in the early stages of elementary school and the efforts made by teachers to overcome them. Factors that cause difficulties for children who are in the transition period of ECE SD are internal and external factors, including the lack of synchronization of the SD and ECE curriculum. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. In this study, the instrument used was an interview guide. And the analysis used descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that children's learning difficulties were found in the aspects of reading, writing and arithmetic, social, emotional, psychological, and physical-motor. This will have an impact on children so that children will have difficulty learning at the elementary school level. Based on the findings, the efforts made by teachers are 1) collaborating and communicating with parents, 2) helping to direct children both in academics and socializing, 3) using differentiated learning by dividing into three groups according to their respective levels, 4) habituation, 5) activating the class with ice breaking, 6) providing free activities, 7) providing advice,  and 8) establishing cooperation with other teachers. The teacher hopes that after these efforts are made, children can become more independent and can adjust to elementary school.
