Abstract

This article examines how early mathematical concepts that fit the early childhood cognitive development. The introduction of early mathematical concepts becomes important for early childhood to provide various stimuli and foster childrens love of mathematics. The introduction of mathematics is not just about numeracy and formulas, but more important is the cultivation of the concept of mathematics. If early childhood has known let alone understand the concept of mathematics well, will certainly have a positive impact on subsequent developments. There are three points in this article related to early mathematical concepts that need to be introduced for early childhood: (1) matching and discriminating, comparing and contrasting, (2) classifying, sorting and grouping, (3) ordering, sequence and seriesation.

Abstract

Abstract

Radicalism easily impacts young people who are silence, unemployed, having less social interaction and religion education problem. online media is the most effective dissemination media for radicalism and terrorism. On the other side, industry revolution 4.0 causes the increment of unemployed young people. In education, industry revolution causes the change of learning system from conventional to digital; e-learning. Online learning source has several advantages; however, there are also several negative effects. The more learning online source used, the filter of the negative effects should be increased, otherwise, the increment of unemployed and the high-intensity use of online media will affect the dissemination of radicalism significantly. Education institution could not filter the sources accessed by pupil by oneself. In this case, parents play important role to keep children’s spiritual, moral, emotional and social education good. Unfortunately, a lot of parents no longer realize their role as educator, especially a mother who decides to be a carrier woman. All this time, education is imposed to teacher and education institution, while parents only play a complement role. Parents should be the main educators of their children in order to prevent quick dissemination of radicalism. This article attempts to analyze guidance from the Hadith of prophet Muhammad PBUH for parents so that all aspects of their children’s education based on affection and they are anti-radicalism from the early childhood. Based on that foundation, the children would not be influenced by extremisme and terrorisme on behalf of religion.

Abstract

Children use digital devices at an early age when the COVID-19 pandemic is increasing. Media mediation and digital discipline are needed so that increased access is accompanied by anticipation of negative content and strengthening the impression of positive content. This qualitative descriptive study aims to reveal the form of digital discipline and media mediation that parents apply to the use of digital devices by early childhood when implementing the work and study from home policy. The results showed that there were 3 types of disciplinary patterns applied by the participants in this study, namely: reducing the intensity and duration of access to digital devices, mitigating content, and combining the two. The discipline pattern is carried out with several strategies, namely: shifting activities, duration or situation restrictions, inhibition of access, and habituation. Meanwhile, the most frequently used media mediation by participants is the type of restrictive mediation. In addition, there are also those that combine various types of mediation, namely restrictive-co-viewing, technical-active, as well as restrictive-active.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemics have caused a lot of stressors for parents. Apart from doing daily activities, parents also have to take care of their children and accompany them to study. The number of stressors can lead to toxic behavior in parenting. This study aims to measure the level of toxicity in parenting behavior and coping strategies adopted by parents. This study uses quantitative descriptive methods to measure toxic levels in parenting behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 568 parents from Banjarmasin and Yogyakarta participated in this study. The survey results show that several factors can trigger parenting stress during the COVID-19 pandemic, namely worsening economic conditions, delinquent children, excessive anxiety, accumulated daily hassles, growing family demands, and disputes with spouses. However, some of these stressors do not lead to toxic parenting. The results showed that 97.79% of respondents from Banjarmasin and 95.29% from Yogyakarta showed a low toxic level. The remaining 2.21% of respondents in Banjarmasin and 4.71% of respondents in Yogyakarta indicated a moderate toxic level. Coping strategies are crucial for neutralizing stress. There are several strategies applied, namely trying to consider a problem is God's test, and there is a positive side to every problem; trying to address the source of stress and solving it; Withdrawing and finding individual time; looking for social support from the family and others; crying and releasing it by doing favorite things and capitulate and get back the problem. This Research is expected to be a reference for parents in choosing coping strategies to manage the stress they feel in parenting during the pandemic.
