Statistical analysis using chi square test, multivariate logistic regression was used to identify the determinants of the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Results: Determinants of exclusive breastfeeding are enabling factors use of health services (p value = 0.000; Exp.B = 2, 207); reinforcing factors : husband's support (p value = 0.001, Exp (B) = 7,800); and  the role of health workers (p value = 0.002, Exp (B) = 11.833). Conclusion: There is a relationship between  enabling factors and reinforcing factors with exclusive breastfeeding in rural communities. It is necessary to immediately implement and enforce a joint policy between the government, health workers, empowering family support by increasing awareness and creating a supportive environment for the success of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition where a child experiences growth disorders, so that the child's height does not correspond to his age, as a result of chronic nutritional problems, namely lack of nutritional intake for a long time (Ministry of Health, 2020). The results of the 2018 Regional Health Research (Riskesdas 2018) show that toddlers in Indonesia aged 0-23 months still experience shortness of breath or very shortness of breath. This shows that there is a bright spot in the implementation of intervention programs in accelerating the reduction of stunting rates which cannot be separated from the cooperation of every existing element. The difference in the average knowledge of pre- and post-education cadres providing education to improve care for low birth weight babies was obtained by a mean pre-education value of 2.60 and a mean post-education value of 1.40. The standard deviation value for pre-training is 0.308 and post-training is 0.40. The Wilcoxon z value is -4.102. The statistical test results of the Wilcoxon signed rank test obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between before and after training in cadres' knowledge about early detection of stunting in toddlers. The community service program to assist families at risk of stunting is a new breakthrough in determining effective and integrated, community-based strategies to reduce the risk of stunting.

Abstract

Pre-operative anxiety is normal, but can have a negative impact on the patient's health. Therefore, it is necessary to educate patients who will undergo surgery to reduce their anxiety levels. Providing education through videos has proven effective in reducing anxiety, this is because video media allows the delivery of more interesting and interactive information. The purpose of this community service activity is to determine the effect of video education on the anxiety of pre-surgical patients at Lavalette hospital Malang City. This community service program consists of two stages, namely socialization to families of surgical patients and training in the application of nursing interventions, anxiety reduction education in preoperative patients. The effectiveness of the program is evaluated by pre-test and post-test methods. The result of this community service activity is that video education has proven effective in reducing anxiety of pre-operative patients. It can be concluded that video education is an effective way to reduce anxiety in pre-operative patients and needs to be widely applied in hospitals.

Abstract

Pain can provide a peripheral vasoconstriction response which causes blood pressure and pulse to rise. Providing relaxation to post-operative patients can reduce post-operative pain. Relaxation education often proves effective in reducing pain levels in post-operative patients. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, and visualization can help reduce the physical and emotional tension that is often associated with pain. Apart from reducing physical pain, relaxation education can also improve the patient's psychological well-being. Patients can feel calmer, better able to deal with stress, and better able to control reactions to pain. By reducing pain levels, patients may require smaller amounts of pain medication or may not need medication at all. This can reduce the risk of side effects from painkillers and speed up the patient's recovery. By reducing pain and stress levels, relaxation education can help speed up the recovery process for post-operative patients. After this community service activity, patients feel more comfortable and are better able to move, which can help reduce the risk of post-operative complications.

Abstract

Impaired gas exchange due to decreased lung function can inhibit the process of eliminating inhaled anesthetic substances through pulmonary exhalation. Smoking causes changes in the structure, function of the respiratory tract and lung parenchymal tissue, resulting in a decrease in lung physiology. This study aims to determine the relationship between postoperative respiratory recovery time and general anesthesia between smoking and non-smoking patients. The research design used is a comparative study with a cross sectional approach using purposive sampling techniques. Respondents totaled 30 people and were divided into 2 groups. Research analysis used the Mann-Whitney test with a=0.05. The average breathing recovery time for smokers is 2 minutes and 1 minute for non-smokers. Statistical test results showed that there was no difference in respiratory recovery time between smoking and non-smoking patients with p-value=0.550. Recommendations for future researchers to continue this research with more homogeneous respondents

Abstract

Toddlers are the age group most often and prone to suffering from malnutrition or malnutrition. One of the causes of high malnutrition is the lack of public awareness in health care, especially mothers for their toddlers and monotonous counseling methods. One way to improve toddler health care can be done by providing education to mothers with various models, one of which is using the Health Belief Model approach. Education with the Health Belief Model approach provides a strong relevance between health education and behavior change. To find out the Effect of Education Using the Health Belief Model Approach on Mother's Behavior in Preventing Malnutrition in Toddlers Aged 1-3 Years at Posyandu Mawar, Kalipare Village, Malang Regency. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest and posttest design approach. The population of this study were mothers who had toddlers aged 1-3 years with malnutrition and at risk of 75 respondents who were then taken using a purposive sampling technique which obtained 42 respondents. The results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon signed rank test obtained the value of Sig. (2-tailed) p-value = 0.00 (p <0.05) which means that there is an effect of education using the Health Belief Model approach on maternal behavior in preventing malnutrition in toddlers aged 1-3 years at Posyandu Mawar, Kalipare Village, Malang Regency . It is hoped that this research can be used to improve maternal behavior in preventing malnutrition in toddlers aged 1-3 years.
