Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is called a potential that endangers the mother and child, therefore anemia requires serious attention from parties involved in health services. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of age and consumption of iron-containing foods with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Talise Palu Health Center in 2017. The type of research is descriptive comparative using a cross sectional approach. The population of all pregnant women in the Talise Health Center area. The sample in this study amounted to 55 respondents with the sampling technique using consecutive sampling technique. The data collection is done through direct interviews and direct Hb measurements. Data analysis using univariate frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with Fisher's Exact Test. The results of the study of 55 respondents there were 96.4% of pregnant women who had anemia, with the age of pregnant women not at risk of 85.5% and pregnant women who rarely consumed foods containing iron there were 78.2%. The results of statistical tests using Fisher's Exact Test showed that there was a relationship between consumption of iron-containing foods (p = 0.04) with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at Talise Palu Health Center in 2017 and no age relationship (p = 0.728) with anemia in pregnant women . Conclusion that age has no relationship with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. Consumption of iron-containing foods is associated with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. Suggestions for midwives who work at the KIA-KB Poli to continue to provide services according to operational standards during pregnancy examinations so that anemia in pregnant women can be treated and even prevented during pregnancy.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is the most appropriate food for babies aged 0-6 months for brain development and infant intelligence as well as to improve the baby's immune system or immunity from disease attacks. The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by many factors, one of which is the very limited number of ASI counselors. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of breastfeeding counseling with mother's attitude in exclusive breastfeeding in Tawaeli Health Center work area. This research includes descriptive correlation type with cross sectional approach. The design of this study was used to analyze the correlative relationship between breastfeeding counseling and the mother's attitude in exclusive breastfeeding. The location of this research is the work area of Puskesmas Taweli in Palu City and implemented on July to August 2015. The sample of this research is all mothers who have babies aged 0-6 months in work area of Puskesmas Taweli in Palu City. Sampling was done by using consecutive sampling, with total sample of 73 people. The results showed no significant relationship between breastfeeding counseling and mother's attitude in exclusive breastfeeding in Tawaeli Health Center Working Area. This can be proved by statistical analysis with X2value <X2table (0,292 <92,808) at 95% CI and ρ-value = 0,589> α (0,05). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that there is no relationship of breastfeeding counseling with mother attitude about exclusive breast feeding in Tawaeli Public Health Working Area.

Abstract

Talasemia adalah penyakit kronik yang membutuhkan transfusi darah berulang, karena adanya gangguan sintesishemoglobin akibat mutasi dari satu atau lebih gen globin. Transfusi secara terus menerus dapat menyebabkanterjadinya penimbunan besi dalam tubuh khususnya jantung, hati, dan organ endokrin, serta dapat menyebabkanpertumbuhan yang terhambat dan gizi kurang atau gizi buruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasiantara kadar feritin serum dan status gizi pasien talasemia-β mayor di RSUP Dr. Moh. Hoesin Palembang.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel penelitian iniadalah pasien talasemia-β mayor yang menjalani rawat inap di Departemen Ilmu Kesehatan Anak RSUP Dr.Mohammad Hoesin pada bulan Oktober hingga November 2016 yang memenuhi kriteria keikutsertaan. Dari 43pasien, sebagian besar (60.5%) pasien memiliki badan kurus sesuai dengan indeks berat badan menurut usia(BB/U) dan berperawakan pendek sesuai indeks tinggi badan menurut usia (TB/U), namun hanya 14.0% pasienmemiliki gizi kurang menurut indeks BB/TB. Didapatkan nilai rata-rata kadar feritin serum 2837.69 μg/L, denganrentang 278.7-13867 μg/L. Hasil uji korelasi antara kadar feritin serum dan status gizi menunjukkan nilai p=0.326dan nilai r=0.153. Terdapat korelasi yang tidak bermakna antara kadar feritin serum dan status gizi pasientalasemia-β mayor.

Abstract

Introduction : Psychotropic agents may precipitate Acute Angle Closure (AAC) either by inducing pupil block via adrenergic or anticholinergic mechanisms, or via an idiosyncratic non-pupillary block mechanism. This is a serious condition that can diminished aquous humor (AH) outflow and increased intraocular pressure Case Illustration : A 60-year-old female complained of a sudden onset of a severe painful red eye on the right eye (RE)2 weeks ago and there was an IOP elevation. Anti-glaucoma medications were given with no succcess. The patient regularly consumed psychotropic drugs Trihexyphenidyl, Risperidone, and Chlopromazine since 2005 and Escitalopram since 2 years ago Discussion : Several classes of centrally acting drugs, including antidepressants such as selective serotonin receptor inhibitors (SSRIs) and antipsychotics have been implicated in precipitate AAC in individuals with pre-existing narrow angels. Rapid lowering of the IOP including medical treatment and relieved relative pupillary block with laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) is an important initial step in treating AAC. Because the media is not clear due to corneal edema, trabeculectomy + 5 Fluorouracil can be considered for IOP control to prevent further damage. Conclusion : Trabeculectomy + 5 FU procedures may be a valuable and effective option in cases where LPI is too risky due to unclear visualization because of corneal edema. Trabeculectomy has been shown to effectively reduce IOP. Closed monitoring is necessary to assess ocular side effects due to the use of psychotropic agents

Abstract

The low levels of literacy and numeracy in Indonesian villages present significant challenges to social and economic development. Village libraries, which should serve as literacy hubs, often lack sufficient book collections to support community education. This community service activity aims to enhance literacy in Jatimulya village, Kuningan, West Java through the provision of reading materials and the organization of the village library. The methods used include setting up a reading garden, distributing books, and conducting literacy activities. The activity was attended by 18 elementary school students who showed high enthusiasm during storytelling sessions and reading exercises. The results indicate that appropriate book provision and literacy programs can increase students' reading interest and literacy skills. With better library facilities and ongoing support, village libraries have great potential to become effective literacy centers that support educational empowerment in rural areas. This activity successfully achieved its goals and had a positive impact on the community, particularly in fostering a literacy culture among children.

Abstract

This research was a quasi experimental research which took place in SMP Negeri 8 Langsa with the total number of population was 117 students and 56 of them were the sample from experimental class and controlled class. This research used pretest and posttest to collect the data. It also used some statistical formulas to analyze the data. It was found that there is a difference in the students’ achievement in reading comprehension between students taught Self Monitoring Approach Reading to Thinking (SMART) strategy and those without using Self Monitoring Approach Reading to Thinking (SMART) strategy. The result of the experimental group is 80.96 and the control group is 65.54 Self Monitoring Approach Reading to Thinking (SMART) strategy has many advantages in teaching reading comprehension. It makes the students more interesting and enjoying the lesson because it is supported by situation. Learning using Self Monitoring Approach Reading to Thinking (SMART) strategy that is accompanied as the background can stimulate, refresh, and support learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher's interest in the use of ICT-based media by Islamic Religious Education teachers in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education learning in grade 4. Although the Islamic Religious Education teachers are part of the digital immigrant generation, which is generally considered less proficient in the use of technology, it turns out that they are able to overcome this challenge well. This study uses a qualitative research method using a descriptive approach, where the data collected by researchers is in the form of words or images obtained directly, does not emphasize numbers and really occurs naturally (natural setting), the data and facts found are then analyzed and presented so that they are easily understood by others. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the use of ICT media in learning at SDN 017126 Sei Tualang Pandau includes: learning through computer media, learning through multimedia and learning through communication technology. As for the pedagogical competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers at SDN 017126 Sei Tualang Pandau, it has been implemented well by Islamic Religious Education teachers by mastering every situation in the classroom during learning, such as mastering the characteristics of students, mastering learning theories and principles of educational learning, developing curriculum, organizing educational learning, utilizing information and communication technology, communicating with students effectively, empathetically and politely, and conducting assessments and evaluations of the learning process and results.

Abstract

Intra-school organizations that deepen and strengthen students' personalities to become more Islamic is one of the meanings of ROHIS or Rohani Islam. Rohis is usually carried out in extracurricular form in middle and high schools. Rohani Islam is a large association owned by students to be able to carry out da'wah activities at school. This Islamic spiritual activity can also shape students' character that reflects the Prophet Muhammad. This research uses one method, namely the qualitative method using a descriptive approach. The analytical method used is a monitoring or observation approach, interviews and documentation studies. This research aims to implement Rohani Islam extracurricular activities in instilling character education in students at SMA Kartika I-2 Medan, Medan Helvetia District.

Abstract

Evidence-based guidelines (EBGs) are crucial for optimizing care and outcomes for highly prevalent retinal diseases like diabetic retinopathy (DR), age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). However, their translation into routine clinical practice remains inconsistent. Understanding the health system factors that facilitate or impede the adoption and long-term sustainability of these guidelines is critical for improving population eye health. This systematic review and meta-synthesis aimed to identify and synthesize qualitative evidence on health system-level determinants influencing the implementation of retinal care EBGs. We conducted a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines. Major biomedical databases (PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science) and grey literature sources were searched from January 2013 to December 2024 using keywords related to retinal diseases, guidelines, implementation, adoption, sustainability, and health systems. Inclusion criteria focused on qualitative or mixed-methods studies exploring factors influencing the uptake or continued use of formal retinal care guidelines within clinical settings. Two reviewers independently screened titles/abstracts and full texts, extracted data, and assessed study quality using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) Qualitative Checklist. A thematic synthesis approach, following Noblit and Hare's methodology for meta-ethnography, was employed to synthesize findings across studies, involving familiarization, coding, theme generation, and synthesizing translations between studies. 7 studies met the inclusion criteria. These studies originated from diverse healthcare systems and focused primarily on DR and AMD guidelines. Quality assessment indicated moderate to high methodological rigor across the included studies. The meta-synthesis identified six interconnected key themes representing health system factors influencing guideline adoption and sustainability: leadership engagement and organizational culture prioritizing evidence-based practice; resource allocation and infrastructure adequacy, including staffing, funding, and integrated IT systems; inter-professional collaboration and streamlined communication pathways across disciplines and care settings; alignment with external policy levers and financial incentives; perceived guideline characteristics and adaptability within local workflows; and robust feedback mechanisms and continuous quality improvement cycles integrated into the system. Lack of resources, fragmented communication, conflicting financial incentives, and inadequate leadership support emerged as primary barriers. In conclusion, the successful adoption and sustainability of evidence-based retinal care guidelines are profoundly influenced by a complex interplay of health system factors. Effective implementation requires more than guideline dissemination. Addressing these system-level determinants is paramount for bridging the evidence-practice gap and reducing preventable vision loss from retinal diseases globally. Policymakers and healthcare administrators must consider these multifaceted factors when designing and implementing strategies to enhance retinal care quality.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tentang penerapan Langkah Polya yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel di kelas VIII B1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yakni perencanaa, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 14 Palu tahun ajaran 2016/2017 dengan jumlah siswa 26 orang. Subjek penelitian yang dipilih sebagai informan didasarkan pada hasil tes awal dan pertimbangan guru matematika kelas VIII B1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Langkah Polya yang diterapkan terdiri atas 4 langkah yaitu: (1) Memahami masalah, (2) merencanakan penyelesaian (3) melaksanakan perencanaan, (4) mengecek kembali prosedur dan hasil penyelesaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Langkah Polya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel di kelas VIII B1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Kata kunci: Langkah Polya, hasil belajar, soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Abstract: The objective of this research is to describe the application of Polya steps which can increase students learning outcomes in solve the story questions about linear equations systems of two variables in VIII B1 class at SMP Negeri 14 Palu . This research is classroom action research referring to Kemmis and Mc. Taggart research desain, which are planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted on two cycles. The research was conducted in VIII B1 class which had 26 students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu school year 2016/2017. The research subject which was selected as informant was based on the result of pre-test and the consideration from Math teacher of VIII B1 class at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Polya steps which was applied consists of 4 steps which are: (1) understanding problem, (2) planning solution, (3) doing plan, (4) checking the procedure again and the result of solution. The result of this research showed that the implementation of Polya steps can increase the students learning outcomes in solving story question of linear equations systems of two variables in VIII B1 Class at SMP Negeri 14 Palu.
