Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out whether or not the use of Google Docs improved the students? writing skill and to find out the students? interest in learning writing by using Google Docs. This research applied a quasi-experimental design with an experimental class and a control class. The procedure of collecting data involved administering a pre- test, treatments and a post- test. The sample consisted of 54 students who were chosenby using cluster random sampling. The instruments of this research were writing text and questionnaire. The result of the data analysis showed that the mean score of experimental class was higher than that of control class and the result of hypothesis testing using independent T-Testin SPSS 16showed that t value is greater than t table, so H1  was accepted. It can be concluded that the use of Google Docs significantly improves the students? writing skill and It also found that students were interested in learning writing by using Google Docs that is proved from their questionnaire result.

Abstract

Abstract

Convicts Life In James Tucker’s The Adventures Of Ralph Rashleigh.  Convicts transported from Britain to Australia are one of historical phenomenon. This research is aimed to describe the convicts life in the late eighteenth century to early nineteenth century in Australia as illustrated in The Adventures of Ralph Rashleigh by James Tucker. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected by using library research and it was analyzed by applying sociological approach proposed by Swingewood (1972) who revealed three classifications of sociology of literature. In this case, the researcher focused on the classification of sociology as the mirror of age. The result of this research showed that the convicts alive harshly in Australia where the flogging was a common punishment for them

Abstract

Literature has a function as reflection or as mirror of the society. The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is one of literary works that could reflect the social condition or phenomena of the Puritan society in America. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected by using library research and it was analyzed by applying sociological approach proposed by Swingewood (1972) who revealed three classifications of sociology of literature. In this case, the researcher focused on the classification of sociology as the mirror of age. The result of this research showed that the important women’s roles in puritan society is teaching their children about the scripture

Abstract

Kalindaqdaq is a famous oral literature in Mandarese Community in West Sulawesi. This research focused on Kalindaqdaq Masala which is themed on religion. Descriptive qualitative approach is used in this research to find out the Islamic Values in Kalindaqdaq Masala. There were 6 data which have been analized. The data showed that the order to perform Shalah in Islam is clearly implied in Kalindaqdaq Masala. This Research also showed that Kalindaqdaq Masala used as a media to spread the Islamic Values in West Sulawesi.

Abstract

This research aim to find out the effectiveness of using the flipped learning method in improving students’ speaking skill. This research employed quasi-experimental method. The subject of this research were two groups, the experimental and the control group of the third semester students of Tadris Bahasa Inggris STAIN Majene. The data of this research were collected through pretest and post-test. The data of this research were analyzed by using SPSS. The result of the research reveal that the students’ post-test in experimental experiment class, the minimum results were 20 and the maximum score was 60 with an average score of 32,00. While in the control class, after the researcher gave an pre-test, the score was 20 and the maximum value was 44 with an average value of  33,71. And then, the researcher gave a post-test without doing treatment, the result of the minimum score was 20 and the maximum score was 60, so the average score was 37,33. The increasing of the value after the experiment class being given a treatment from the average value 24,57 to 32,00.  The mean result for the experimental class is -7.429, with a standard deviation of 6.727 so that H1 is accepted because the value of sig < Alpha or 0.000 < 0.005. Based on these data, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average learning outcomes of students in the experimental class using the flipped learning method to improve their speaking skills.Key words: Flipped learning, speaking skill

Abstract

Pelatihan aplikasi Hot Potatoes merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kerja guru Madrasah Aliyah (MA) DDI Ihyaul Ulum Baruga sebagai mitra dalam mengembangkan kompetensi guru. Peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif merupakan target khusus dari kegiatan ini. Sedangkan, tujuan jangka panjang dari kegiatan ini adalah diharapkan bagi peserta, dapat mengembangkan keterampilan membuat media pembelajaran interaktif dengan menggunakan Aplikasi Hot Potatoes yang telah diperoleh selama pelatihan. Sejalan dengan itu, kegiatan ini juga dimaksudkan sebagai bentuk dharma bakti dosen Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri (STAIN) Majene kepada masyarakat. kegiatan ini terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu observasi, persiapan, pelaksanaan dan pendampingan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini adalah seluruh peserta dapat membuat Media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan aplikasi hot potatoes.

Abstract

The Learning Management System (LMS) has been established in a number of universities worldwide to help connect students and lecturers without the confines of the traditional classroom. LMS is a software system to create web-based online lecture materials and manage learning activities and their results. Learning Management system has been implemented by several universities and it was really helpful for students and lecturers. One of the learning management system that is used in the teaching and learning process in STAIN Majene is Ed-Link. The existence of Ed-Link as a learning Management System is also support the development of ICT-based Learning among students and lecturers at STAIN Majene. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the implementation of Ed-Link as LMS in teaching and learning process between students and lecturers at STAIN Majene. Qualitative descriptive method will be used by researcherss in conducting this research. This research is a descriptive qualitative research which data collection is carried out by observing, interviewing and documenting. The research subject in this study is several lecturers and several students in STAIN Majene that have implemented Ed-Link in their Learning process. And the object of this research is to know the evaluation of ED-Link Implementation as LMS in Teaching Students. In the result of this research showed that there are positive and negative perceptions about Ed-link from the informants. From that perception, it will be the evaluation for Ed-Link implementation and the evaluation consist in teaching process and the evaluation for the feature in Ed-Link.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the students’ perception of Blended Learning in the EFL Classroom during COVID-19 pandemic. The researcher used a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) as a research design. The researcher was collected the data from two schools in Majene regency. The result of this study shows that the students’ perceptions in Majene Regency were categorized as “undecided” toward Blended Learning from the questionnaire and interview results. The questionnaire result proved it reached a percentage 68.68%, and it was categorized as undecided based on the score category of the questionnaire in the Likert Scale. Then in the interview result, most students had a tendency to give a positive perception toward offline learning, otherwise, they preferred to give a negative perception toward online learning.
