Abstract

This research focuses on enhancing the pedagogical competencies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers through intensive training on innovative teaching methods and contextual media development. The main objective of this study is to explore the effectiveness of participatory training in building teachers' individual competencies and strengthening institutional culture toward continuous pedagogical innovation. This study employs a qualitative method with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, actively involving teaching staff at MTs-MA Al-Khairaat Guraping, Kota Tidore. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions, then analysed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis technique consisting of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that training successfully improved teachers' theoretical knowledge from 45% to 85%, practical skills from 40% to 90%, and confidence from 50% to 80%. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of hands-on, collaborative approaches and institutional support to ensure sustainability and effectiveness of teacher professional development programs in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This research uses qualitative research methods to describe the construction of religious moderation based on local wisdom at the Pesantren Harisul Khairat. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through observation with the type of participant observation, interviews with semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies. The data obtained was then analyzed using an interactive analysis model following to Miles and Huberman, namely data condensation, data presentation, and verification or conclusion drawing. The results showed that the construction of religious moderation education in Pesantren Khairaat applies the charismatic approach of the kyai and the rules of the Pesantren  in shaping the character, discipline, and spirituality of the students at the externalization stage. The objectivation process occurs through interactions between students and their understanding of religious moderation that is institutionalized in daily practice, becoming an objective reality that is internalized by students. In the internalization stage, the Pesantren maintains values and traditions through socio-cultural adaptation, and students develop a subjective understanding of religious moderation education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of game-based learning (GBL) in enhancing student motivation at MTs Darul Falah. The research utilizes a qualitative approach to assess the impact of GBL on student engagement and motivation through indicators such as active involvement, value awareness, long-term commitment, and positive behavioral changes. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, as well as classroom observations. The findings indicate that GBL is effective in creating an immersive learning experience, increasing student engagement, and fostering sustained learning motivation. The implementation of GBL not only deepens students' understanding of the subject matter but also fosters positive attitudes and commitment towards learning. This research enriches the literature by providing new insights into how game elements can be used to motivate and improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines how religious moderation education is constructed at Pesantren Darul Falah Ternate using Peter L. Berger’s social construction theory. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using Berger’s three-stage dialectical framework: externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The findings reveal that religious moderation construction occurs through interconnected dialectical processes. Externalization manifests through the kyai’s charismatic exemplarity and comprehensive pesantren regulations. Objectivation involves inter-generational interactions that institutionalize values through the concept of barakah and habitualization processes. Internalization integrates universal Islamic teachings with Ternate local wisdom, particularly the “torang basudara” brotherhood tradition, creating contextual religious moderation that resonates with students’ cultural identities. The study demonstrates that religious moderation is not a fixed concept but a continuous social construction involving complex interactions among institutional structures, charismatic authority, peer relationships, and cultural resources. This research contributes empirical evidence showing how pesantren successfully translate abstract theological concepts into lived practices through holistic socialization processes, offering insights for developing contextually appropriate religious moderation education models.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of local wisdom-based organizational culture in shaping the identity of Generation Z in higher education so that they can adapt to digital challenges and rapid social change. This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed thematically by coding, pattern identification, triangulation, and member checking to ensure the accuracy of the research data. The study results indicate that organizational culture in higher education plays an important role in guiding values and norms, helping students internalize social values, actively engage in campus activities, develop social networks, and improve social skills. Students become resilient and adapt well, aligning traditional values with modern demands. The implications of this study indicate that a solid and inclusive organizational culture can support the formation of a strong, flexible, and principled student identity amidst rapid changes in the digital era. These findings can guide educational institutions in designing policies that support the development of student character and integrity development in the digital era.
