Data was collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, as well as document analysis of projects produced by students. Data were analysed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the data analysis were compiled in the form of a comprehensive research report with descriptive and interpretative narratives. Main Findings: The results showed that the implementation of Project-Based Learning significantly improved students' engagement and their understanding of social studies materials. Teachers reported that Project-Based Learning helped students develop critical, collaborative, and creative skills, and increased their learning motivation. Students involved in the project showed better ability in analysing and applying social studies concepts in real contexts. Observations showed that the classroom atmosphere became more interactive and dynamic, with students actively participating in discussions and project presentations. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research offers novelty by integrating the application of Project-Based Learning in the context of a junior high school in a remote area, namely Madrasah Tsanawiyah Zainul Hasan 4 Boto Lumbang, Probolinggo Regency. The findings make a novel contribution by showing how Project-Based Learning can be adapted and applied effectively in a different and less accessible educational context.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the history and philosophical value of the Minahasa kabasaran dance. This research uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive research type. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data validation using source triangulation. The results of the study show that running the Kabasaran is an activity for carrying out ceremonies. Kabasaran was born and exists today as a conclusion from the historical journey of Minahasa. Almost every decade the condition of the Minahasa is recorded in the Kabasaran dance. The thread of the conclusion becomes a sign of every change in the face of Minahasa. This dance tells about the wars that are carried out when winning in war. This dance has a philosophical value of strength, valor of the Minahasa (Tuama) and Wuaya (courage) knights. The Kabasaran dance is equipped with spears, santi and shields in its performances. This dance is often performed at various events in North Sulawesi, both formal and non-formal. This dance is often used as soldiers to welcome guests who come to North Sulawesi.

Abstract

This research presents an updated analysis of the dynamics of ancestral religion in Indonesia using a postmodernist approach. This research aims to review how ancestral religions are understood within the grand narrative of official religions and the implications for the division of rights and treatment of citizens based on religious choices, which often become political issues. Through a qualitative approach and analysis of postmodernism popularised by Lyotard and Foucault, this research dismantles the single narrative of official religions. The method used is critical discourse analysis. The main findings of this research show that ancestral religions in Indonesia face pressure from the grand narratives of official religions. Ancestral religions are often positioned as part of problematic activities that result in not getting equal recognition with official religions. On the other hand, the grand narrative of official religion impacts the meaning and interpretation of ancestral religions that are still considered sinful, and there are still restrictions on their religious practices. The implications of the findings of this research point to the political and social aspects of categorising ancestral religions as "other" or "profane" and the impact on their treatment and rights in society. Although in November 2017, the Constitutional Court (MK) granted a judicial review of some articles in the Population and Administration Law, acts of persecution still occur against them.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of intercultural da'wah adaptation in the Malay Muslim community in Makassar. The background of this research is based on the lack of information about the dynamics of intercultural da'wah for ethnic Malay Muslims in Makassar, which can affect people's understanding of cultural diversity. The research method uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic study involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the Malay Muslim community in Makassar plays an essential role in forming cultural identity amid ethnic and religious diversity. The adaptation of intercultural da'wah is observed in the location of Malay people and places of worship that are on the crossing path of cultural and religious diversity. The Makmur Melayu Mosque, as the centre of religious activities, is located close to Chinese and Arab settlements, reflecting the contribution of intercultural da'wah in forming Malay-Muslim identity in Makassar. The process of cultural acculturation is also observed through the adaptation of language, social systems and Islamic values For example, cultural adaptation was found through cross-cultural marriages, especially among Bugis Makassar aristocrats, which contributed to the formation of identity and social structure in Makassar.
