Abstract

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a malignancy with high mortality rates in women, and its incidence continues to rise. The main etiological factor for cervical cancer is infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV), which disrupts the regulation of apoptosis in cells. Several studies have shown a correlation between TNFα polymorphisms, including the -308 position (TNFα -308 G/A), and the incidence of cervical cancer. This gene have a role in proliferation of cancer cells. This study investigates the impact of TNFα-308 polymorphism on the risk of cervical cancer in Asian female populations. A meta-analysis of five sources was conducted to determine potential associations. Findings reveal that neither allele A (OR 95%CI = 1.20 [0.70-2.03], p = 0.51) nor genotype AA (OR 95%CI = 0.85 [0.37-1.91], p = 0.69) were significantly linked with an elevated risk of cervical cancer in Asian women. The same result was seen for the G allele (OR 95%CI = 0.84 [0.49-1.42], p = 0.51) and GG genotype (OR 95%CI = 0.80 [0.44-1.48], p = 0.48). The study results indicate that the TNFα-308 polymorphism is not associated with cervical cancer in Asian women. Further research is needed to investigate the role of other gene polymorphisms in cervical cancer susceptibility in Asian women.

Abstract

In order to increase public interest in using products from Islamic banking, Islamic financial institutions are obliged to increase the variety and quality of services and the variety of products offered. Involving students is one approach to growing the market share of the Islamic finance sector in Indonesia. so that it can learn which qualities Islamic financial institutions want to take into account. The problem in this study is whether product knowledge has an impact on consumer intentions to use Islamic banks. In this study, Islamic banking study program students in Banten used quantitative descriptive data from primary and secondary data sources collected by sending questionnaires to 33 respondents and using regression analysis techniques. specifically for students enrolled in the Islamic Banking Study Program, University of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Batch 2020–2023. The findings of this study indicate that product knowledge (P) influences the intention to use Islamic banks as customers (M).

Abstract

Islamic banks are one of the many types of banks that implement sharia principles in their operational activities. Islamic banks play an important role in supporting economic and financial growth in Indonesia, and have become an alternative for people to save and manage their money. However, there are still many Banten UIN students who do not know about Islamic banking and how it works. The level of financial and banking literacy within the scope of UIN Banten students is an important factor that has the potential to influence their interest in saving money in Islamic banks. A low level of financial and banking literacy can make students not have adequate insight into products and services of Islamic banks, thus hindering their interest in saving at the bank. Therefore, this research is aimed at examining the effect of the literacy level of UIN Banten students regarding Islamic banks on their interest in saving in Islamic banks. This research is aimed at reviewing the level of Islamic financial literacy of students of Islamic economics and Islamic banking study programs and the influence of Islamic financial literacy levels on the use of Islamic banking products. Research categorized as quantitative research. Thus, increasing literacy around Islamic banking can strengthen the interest of UIN Banten students in saving money in Islamic banks. Abstract

The Financial Services Authority noted that one of the of Sharia Commercial Banks that experienced a decline in profit was the Bank Tabungan Pensiun Nasional Syariah, which experienced a decrease in profit in 2020, which was minus 38.9%. This study aims to determine the effect of the NPF, FDR, ROA, NI and CAR to profit growth at the Bank Tabungan Pensiun Nasional Syariah. The population in this study were 15 Bank Umum Syariah and purposive sampling technique, 1sample was obtained which was used in this study. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistics, classical assumption test: normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation, multiple regression analysis, correlation coefficient test (r), coefficient of determination test (adjusted r square), f test (simultaneous) and t test (Partial). The results showed that NPF, FDR, ROA, and NI partially had no effect on profit growth, while CAR had a partial effect on profit growth. Simultaneously all variables affect profit growth. The predictive ability of these five variables on profit growth is 64.8% while the remaining 35.2% is influenced by other variables outside the regression model.

Abstract

The halal certification of products holds significant importance for Muslim consumers, necessitating the development of reliable techniques for identifying leather products made from raw materials. This study employed rapid and accurate analytical methods to distinguish between cowhide, pigskin, and artificial leather. A combination of scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to assess the variations in collagen fiber structures and thermal stability among the leather samples. The findings revealed that morphological surface analysis, including grain patterns and pores, facilitated swift differentiation between different leather types. Pigskins exhibit three-hole patterns on their morphological surface compared to cowhide, with random pores and tighter grain patterns, whereas artificial leather lacks natural grain patterns and pores altogether. While FTIR spectra exhibited similarities between cowhide and pigskin leathers, variations in vibration intensity enabled effective discrimination. Artificial leather, particularly PVC-based materials, displayed distinct spectra, allowing FTIR spectroscopy to effectively discern between halal and non-halal leather. Cowhide possesses strong and sharp vibration at wavenumber 1736, 1277, and 817 cm-1 compared to pigskin, which has stronger vibration at 1534 cm-1. Meanwhile, PVC-based artificial leather exhibited stretching at 1723 and 744 cm-1 wavenumbers. DSC analysis proved valuable in differentiating between genuine and artificial leather based on unique peaks and thermal behavior. These three techniques provide reliable means to determine the raw material origins of leather products.
