Abstract

The Competency Certification Examination (UKK) at SMK Negeri 1 Cempaga was conducted as a strategic response to the need for vocational school graduates to meet the demands of the industry. Given the gap between school-based learning and real-world expectations, this community service initiative aimed to bridge that divide by strengthening students’ practical readiness through a structured certification process. Specifically, the UKK assesses students' skills in Computer and Network Engineering. The implementation of the UKK follows several stages, including preparation and coordination, exam package selection, pre-UKK simulation, examination execution, and evaluation with follow-up actions. The preparation phase involved collaboration between the school and Universitas Darwan Ali to ensure a smooth process. The pre-UKK simulation plays a crucial role in providing students with practical experience prior to the actual exam. The UKK was conducted with the involvement of external assessors from Universitas Darwan Ali, who objectively evaluated the students' competencies. The evaluation results indicated that most of the participants successfully completed the tasks according to industry standards. However, a challenge arose due to the limited preparation time, as the UKK was scheduled only a month after the completion of the Industrial Work Practice (PKL). Consequently, recommendations for improvements were made to optimize the UKK implementation in the following years. Overall, the UKK activity provided valuable experience for students and served as a benchmark for their readiness to enter the workforce

Abstract

Graphic design is a medium for conveying information through visual communication language involves aesthetic rules. Social media and digital technology currently have a vital role, especially in the education sector. Based on research results, 95% of respondents agree with the support of information technology in the world of education. One aspect that can be improved is promotion and branding activities of schools to the wider community by utilizing school digitalization. Increasing the skills of teachers is needed to achieve effective school branding and promotion. Interesting, informative and communicative content is an important point in the era of searching for information through social media. On this basis, Darwan Ali University service team holds creative design training activities to improve teacher expertise. This training activity was carried out with teacher participants whose members of the Markisa PAUD (TK and KB) level Cluster Activity Center, Baamang District using Canva application. This research aims to increase the expertise of teachers in creating interesting and communicative content on social media to promote and improve school branding. The training results show that around 86% of PAUD teachers produce content designs for personal and school social media in the form of promotional content and school branding.

Abstract

Early childhood education in Kotawaringin Timur Regency faces several challenges, particularly in managing facilities and infrastructure. Many kindergartens and playgroups lack adequate resources, such as interactive classrooms and outdoor play areas, which limits children’s creativity and exploration. This condition requires teachers to be innovative in utilizing limited resources to create meaningful learning experiences. To address these issues, a community service program was conducted to enhance teachers’ knowledge and skills in optimizing school facilities to support sustainable learning. The program emphasized strategies for maximizing limited resources, fostering collaboration with parents, using social media, and integrating horticulture into the learning environment. Interactive training methods were employed, including presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice. A total of 94 participants from 47 educational institutions joined the program, recruited through collaboration with Himpaudi Kotim, IGRA, and PKG Markisa. The results showed that teachers gained new insights into maximizing existing facilities, strengthening parent communication via Instagram and WhatsApp, and applying horticulture as an engaging learning medium. The discussions also highlighted the relevance of these strategies to school quality improvement, including accreditation. In conclusion, this program provided practical solutions for optimizing educational facilities, supporting inclusive and Adiwiyata-oriented schools, and fostering stronger collaboration between schools, parents, and technology to achieve sustainable education.

Abstract

Hortikultura merupakan salah satu sektor yang berkembang pesat dalam pertanian Indonesia. Jenis tanaman yang dibudidayakan dalam hortikultura meliputi buah-buahan, sayur-sayuran, bunga dan tanaman hias. Salah satu produk dari hortikultura tersebut adalah cabai. Cabai adalah buah dari tanaman yang termasuk dalam genus Capsicum dan famili solanacea. Cabai sering digunakan sebagai bumbu dapur untuk menambah rasa pedas pada makanan. Bagi masyarakat rumahan yang ingin menanam cabai di sekitar perkarangan rumah, memilih bibit cabai yang unggul merupakan langkah yang sangat penting guna menghasilkan hasil yang optimal. Untuk membantu masyarakat dalam memilih bibit cabai yang unggul dilakukan penelitian berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya. Penlitian  ini menggunakan SPK metode VIKOR dan AHP  dalam membantu masyarakat memilih bibit cabai terunggul. Dipilihnya metode VIKOR karena metode berfokus pada peringkat dan pemilihan dari sekumpulan alternatif kriteria yang saling bertentangan untuk mengambil keputusan guna mencapai tujujan akhir. Sementara itu penggunaan metode AHP dipilih karena AHP merupakan teori umum tentang pengukuran yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan skala rasio dari perbandingan berpasangan berbendtuk diskrit maupun kontinu dalam struktur hierarki tingkat berganda, yang memberikan manfaat dalam pengambilan keputusan untuk memelih alternatif terbaik dari kriteria tertentu. Kemudian dari kedua metode tersebut dilakukan analisis performa untuk menentukan metode mana yang paling optimal. Hasil dari analisis performa menunjukkan bahwa metode AHP menjadi metode yang paling optimal dengan nilai performa 35,95%  sehingga, hasil dari perhitungan metode AHP dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi masyarakat dalam melakukan pemilihan bibit cabai terunggul.

Abstract

Chili is one of the important commodities in agriculture and food, which is a product of the capsicum plant that has significant economic value in international trade. This study aims to identify an effective distribution strategy for red chili commodities in Indonesia through the use of the K-means and K-medoids clustering algorithms. The data used comes from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2022, including parameters-production, consumption, surplus/deficit, trade margin, and the impact of market operations and natural disasters. The implementation of K-means and K-medoids uses the RapidMiner application to form six provincial clusters based on the characteristics of red chili distribution. The results of the analysis show that K-medoids consistently outperforms K-means in cluster formation, with lower Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) values ​​indicating better clusters. The conclusion of this study confirms that K-medoids is more effective in grouping red chili distribution areas in Indonesia, potentially providing a stronger foundation for strategic decision making in the distribution management of this commodity. Therefore, this study recommends the use of K-medoids as a more appropriate approach for planning and implementing red chili distribution strategies in Indonesia.
