Abstract

The concept of guest service in higher education includes various aspects aimed at welcoming, providing information, and ensuring comfort for guests who come to campus. Generally, university guest registration services are still manual, through direct visits, telephone calls, emails, or letters. Manual recording uses conventional paper logs or guest books, so it takes longer and is inefficient in archiving. In addition, security problems are caused by the lack of activities to verify the identity of each visitor. This research aims to improve the quality of service in higher education by developing a web-based visitor or guest management system (Visitor Management System). This system is designed to manage visits to the campus environment efficiently and effectively. The development method used is a prototype design-build approach. This system is expected to help monitor and control visitor traffic, facilitate the registration process, and provide accurate and timely information to visitors. Thus, this web-based visitor management system can significantly improve service quality management in higher education. The object of this research is the Directorate of Education at one of the state universities in Surabaya. The research method starts with problem identification, system design, program code design, and system testing. System requirements analysis analyses service needs, constraints, and system objectives through interviews, literature studies, and field observations. This research results in the availability of a WEB-based Visitor Management System with several user functions where each user can enter data on an online form to request to be a guest.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penentuan masa awal pananen kelapa sawit memberikan dampak terhadap hasil produksi berikutnya. Selain nutrisi yang cukup terhadap pohon kelapa sawit dan banyaknya tangkai pelepah serta kondisi buah yang seimbang pada setiap pohon sawit, maka masa awal panen juga merupakan salah satu hal yang penting. Penentuan masa awal panen kelapa sawit dipengaruhi dengan berbagai variabel diantaranya tahun tanam, luas area, jarak tanam, jenis bibit dan berbagai variabel lainnya. Banyaknya variabel dan data tentunya cukup sulit untuk menentuaan masa awal panen kelapa sawit. Untuk itu, Algoritma klasifikasi dalam data mining dapat membantu untuk menganalisis penentuan masa awal panen kelapa sawit. Salah satu model dari metode klasifikasi yang mudah digunakan oleh siapa saja adalah pohon keputusan atau yang disebut dengan decision tree. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun suatu model pohon keputusan yang dapat digunakan untuk memprediksi masa awal paen kelapa sawit. Algoritma yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Classification and Regression Tree. Proses pengolahan data dilakukan pengujian klasifikasi terhadapt dataset sebanyak 5 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Algoritma Classification and Regression Tree mampu menghasilkan model pohon keputusan dengan nilai performa akurasi tertinggi 96,21%. Node akar pada pohon keputusan dimuai dari variabel tahun tanam dan dilanjutkan dengan variabel yang lainnya.

Abstract

The Competency Certification Examination (UKK) at SMK Negeri 1 Cempaga was conducted as a strategic response to the need for vocational school graduates to meet the demands of the industry. Given the gap between school-based learning and real-world expectations, this community service initiative aimed to bridge that divide by strengthening students’ practical readiness through a structured certification process. Specifically, the UKK assesses students' skills in Computer and Network Engineering. The implementation of the UKK follows several stages, including preparation and coordination, exam package selection, pre-UKK simulation, examination execution, and evaluation with follow-up actions. The preparation phase involved collaboration between the school and Universitas Darwan Ali to ensure a smooth process. The pre-UKK simulation plays a crucial role in providing students with practical experience prior to the actual exam. The UKK was conducted with the involvement of external assessors from Universitas Darwan Ali, who objectively evaluated the students' competencies. The evaluation results indicated that most of the participants successfully completed the tasks according to industry standards. However, a challenge arose due to the limited preparation time, as the UKK was scheduled only a month after the completion of the Industrial Work Practice (PKL). Consequently, recommendations for improvements were made to optimize the UKK implementation in the following years. Overall, the UKK activity provided valuable experience for students and served as a benchmark for their readiness to enter the workforce

Abstract

Graphic design is a medium for conveying information through visual communication language involves aesthetic rules. Social media and digital technology currently have a vital role, especially in the education sector. Based on research results, 95% of respondents agree with the support of information technology in the world of education. One aspect that can be improved is promotion and branding activities of schools to the wider community by utilizing school digitalization. Increasing the skills of teachers is needed to achieve effective school branding and promotion. Interesting, informative and communicative content is an important point in the era of searching for information through social media. On this basis, Darwan Ali University service team holds creative design training activities to improve teacher expertise. This training activity was carried out with teacher participants whose members of the Markisa PAUD (TK and KB) level Cluster Activity Center, Baamang District using Canva application. This research aims to increase the expertise of teachers in creating interesting and communicative content on social media to promote and improve school branding. The training results show that around 86% of PAUD teachers produce content designs for personal and school social media in the form of promotional content and school branding.
