Abstract

Representation is one of the fundamental abilities of mathematics reflected by students understanding of mathematics concepts, principles, or procedures, so it becomes crucial for teachers to develop students' mathematical representation skills. This research was time to describe the representation used in the problem and the level of mathematical representation ability needed to solve mathematical literacy problems. The data was collected through the assignment to design mathematical literacy problems between 3-10 pieces and interview as triangulation on 35 prospective elementary school teacher students. The data are grouped based on various representations and analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. Then one problem is chosen randomly for each type of representation to describe the level of representation ability needed to solve the problem qualitatively. The results show that the mathematical representations used in designed mathematical literacy problems are pictorial-verbal, pictorial-symbolic, verbal-symbolic, pictorial, verbal, symbolic, and pictorial-verbal-symbolic representations. The level of representational ability that tends to be needed to solve problems is levels 0 and 1. This study suggests that prospective teacher students should develop mathematical representation knowledge to improve the quality of their learning in the future

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between study habits and mathematics learning outcomes, the correlation between learning motivation and mathematics learning outcomes, and the correlation between learning habits and motivation to learn mathematics outcomes during online learning. The total population is 185 students and the sample size is 123 students with the sampling technique using the Slovin formula approach. Hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis techniques, Pearson Correlation test, F test, and a coefficient of determination of 5%. Learning habits and motivation are measured by a questionnaire that has been declared valid by the validator and has been tested for validity and reliability on 60 respondents outside the research subject. Data collection to measure learning habits and motivation is done by distributing questionnaires, while for student achievement it is obtained from documentation of math scores. The results showed that: there was a positive and significant correlation between study habits and students' mathematics learning outcomes. The correlation between the two is moderately correlated; there is a positive and significant correlation between learning motivation and student outcomes in mathematics. The correlation between the two is strongly correlated; there is a positive and significant correlation between study habits and learning motivation with students' mathematics learning outcomes. The correlation between the two is strongly correlated. The contribution of study habits and learning motivation simultaneously to mathematics learning outcomes is 30.7%, while 69.3% is influenced by other factors not examined by the researchers in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the preparation made by teachers in teaching numeracy. The type of research used was qualitative which was carried out at SDN Jember Lor 1. The research subjects were 2 people who had met the criteria of teaching experience. The data collection technique uses interviews. The instrument used has been validated by 2 expert lecturers. Test the validity of the data using reference materials. The collected data was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively supported by interview recordings and photographs. The results of this study concluded that there was a difference in the preparation for teaching numeracy with the description: 1) teachers with low teaching experience were more creative in compiling teaching modules, 2) teachers with high teaching experience better understood the model and assessment of numeracy learning.
