Abstract

The purpose of this study is to design an infographic-based social campaign strategy as a form of representative effort against smartphone addiction in early childhood. This research method is based on qualitative descriptive. Using interviews and field study documentation as research data, this study analyzed the research subjects, parents who have early childhood experiences in Padang Panjang, using the SWOT method. Meanwhile, the object of this research is the visual communication design of social campaigns with the theme of smartphone addiction. The objective of this research can be achieved through four stages: data source analysis, exploration, planning, and realization.  At the realization stage, three infographic posters were created, namely illustrations of children who passively use smartphones as a form of criticism of digital parenting patterns, infographic designs on the bad impact of smartphones on children, and tips so that children are not addicted to smartphones.  This infographic poster is available in both print and digital forms, making it an efficient medium for conveying complex information on social media.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of integrating the Learning Management System (LMS) Google Classroom into Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in the Beauty Services Management course, with the goal of enhancing students’ learning outcomes and self-regulated learning. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental, one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 50 Vocational Education students specializing in Beauty Services, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a project-based learning assessment and a learning independence questionnaire adapted from the Self-Regulated Learning Questionnaire (SRLQ). Data were analyzed using a paired-sample t-test. The results indicated an average increase of 21.9% in learning outcomes and 16.6% in learning independence following the implementation of Google Classroom, with a significance level of p < 0.05, demonstrating a statistically significant improvement. These findings suggest that LMS integration can enhance the effectiveness of project-based learning, strengthen students’ learning autonomy, and promote more active and reflective engagement in the learning process. The study emphasizes that utilizing LMS platforms such as Google Classroom represents a relevant digital learning strategy for vocational education, particularly in supporting the transformation of teaching and learning in the Industry 4.0 era.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between classroom management skills, school climate and work ethic partially and together with the informatics learning outcomes of class X students at SMKN 1 Painan. The research method used is quantitative correlational. The population in the study were all class X students at SMKN 1 Painan totaling 402 people. The research sample was 80 people drawn by proportional random sampling. The test results at a significance level of α 0.05 (95% confidence level) obtained a rx1y value of 0.969 with rtable 0.220 because rcount> rtable then the first hypothesis is accepted. Then the rx2y value is 0.969 with rtable 0.220, because rcount> rtable then the second hypothesis is accepted. Then the rx3y value is 0.970 with rtable 0.220, because rcount> rtable then the third hypothesis is accepted. Furthermore, the value of rx1x2x3y is 0.976 with rtable 0.220, because rcount> rtable then the fourth hypothesis is accepted. And supported by the value of Fcount = 518.764 and Ftable = 1.454 so that Fcount> Ftable (518.764> 1.454) is obtained. The implications of the research results are improving classroom management skills, improving school climate and improving teacher work ethic.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the SOSAKA (Socialization of Communication) program in optimizing the use of the Edlink e-learning platform in the Vocational Makeup Education Study Program, Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Padang Panjang. The background of this study is based on the low level of utilization of Edlink features optimally by students, especially in the context of online learning which is increasingly important after the pandemic. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a data analysis technique of respondent achievement level (TCR). The research sample consisted of 95 students from semester 1 to semester 6 who were selected by total sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire covering five main indicators. The results showed that the average level of respondent achievement reached 74.6%, which is categorized as quite good. The highest indicator is the effectiveness of the SOSAKA program (83%), while the lowest indicator is interactive communication between lecturers and students (68%). These findings indicate that the SOSAKA program is effective in increasing students' awareness and skills in using Edlink, although there are still challenges in terms of interaction and utilization of advanced features. This study provides implications that interactive communication-based training such as SOSAKA needs to be continuously developed and integrated sustainably into academic activities. In addition, institutional support in the form of lecturer training, provision of facilities, and affirmative policies are also very necessary to encourage more optimal digital learning.

Abstract

The deployment of character education within Islamic-oriented public boarding schools throughout Indonesia has experienced significant expansion, encompassing both primary and secondary educational tiers. Originally initiated by private entities, this boarding school paradigm has now been embraced by public educational institutions, many of which have emerged as prominent leaders in the field. This educational framework draws inspiration from traditional Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and prioritizes character development through the integration of religious-humanist principles that are ingrained in everyday practice. The objective of this study is to investigate the framework of character education in state senior high schools that implement the boarding school model. Employing a qualitative research methodology, data were gathered via observational techniques and structured interviews. The results indicate that character education is cultivated through a cohesive and continuous curriculum that interlinks academic instruction with dormitory living experiences. Values are enhanced through systematically organized school programs and are further reinforced by routine dormitory engagements. The institutions also advocate for moral advancement through the cultivation of spiritual consciousness and foster a cohesive culture that bridges academic pursuits with residential life. Furthermore, extracurricular initiatives are utilized to develop not only ethical comprehension but also the social competencies and soft skills of students. These findings underscore the potential efficacy of the boarding school model in promoting comprehensive character development within public educational frameworks.
