Abstract

Digital health services in healthcare facilities have been escalated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telehealth has become one of the fastest adopted information and communication technologies (ICT) and is projected as a future solution to provide better healthcare services. In Indonesia, the implementation of telehealth had been initiated before the COVID-19 pandemic but did not explicitly mention specific healthcare professionals. This situation has led to unclear boundaries for telehealth practice among healthcare professionals while the implementation of telehealth is still encouraged. Therefore, our aim was to identify alternatives to strengthen the policies that support the implementation, quality, and accessibility of telehealth in Indonesia. We conducted a rapid review of articles related to telehealth implementation and policies that had been published on Portal Garuda, EBSCOHost, Pubmed, and Google Scholar. We also considered articles with an MMAT score >80 as eligible articles that could be included in the synthesis. Our findings have been crystallized into several ideas, one of which is that the implementation of telehealth must be supported by three aspects: organizational support, equity, and legal support. We recommend some alternatives such as training, policy and guideline strengthening, data security improvement, and funding to accelerate telehealth implementation in Indonesia. In conclusion, although some policies have been implemented to support telehealth in Indonesia after the COVID-19 pandemic, these policies are still weak in protecting other healthcare professionals' practice through telehealth, except for doctors. Specific guidelines and stronger policies are needed.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of a therapeutic communication questionnaire used with cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Therapeutic communication is a crucial element in patient recovery and an integral part of nursing practice. A quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design was applied, involving 100 patients at RSPAU Dr. S. Hardjolukito, Yogyakarta. The instrument consisted of 20 items adapted from Rizky Hardhiyani (2013). Validity testing showed that all items had a correlation coefficient (r) greater than the critical value (0.196), ranging from 0.203 to 0.412, and were therefore deemed valid. Reliability testing yielded a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.663, meeting the minimum reliability threshold (>0.60). Thus, this questionnaire is considered a valid and reliable instrument for assessing therapeutic communication in cancer patients.

Abstract

Gender differences and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)-associated inflammatory biomarkers are correlated with high levels of anxiety. However, no study has investigated gender differences and high level of white blood cells (WBC) on anxiety among participants with T2DM in Indonesia. We examined the roles of gender and WBCs on anxiety symptoms in T2DM. A cross-sectional study was performed on 294 patients with T2DM recruited from five community clinics with multistage cluster sampling. Depression, anxiety and Stress-21 (DASS-21) a standardized questionnaire was used to measure anxiety and WBCs was determined using an XP-100 automated haematology analyzer. The adjusted coefficients beta (coefficient Beta) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were performed using a multiple linear regression model. Statistical analyses were calculated using SPSS version 25.0, with a p-value of less than 0.05 set as statistically significant. Females exhibited significantly higher levels of anxiety (Beta=0.26, 95% CI=0.07–0.94) than male respondents. Notably, respondents with WBCs of ³7.576 had significantly higher anxiety (Beta=2.04, 95% CI=1.12–3.71) than patients with WBCs of less than7.576. There was high prevalence of axienty symptoms in this Indonesian sample of respondents. Female and high level of WBCs exist on increasing susceptibility to anxiety symptoms among individuals with T2DM.Abstrak: Perbedaan jenis kelamin dan biomarker inflamasi terkait diabetes mellitus tipe 2 (T2DM) berkorelasi dengan tingkat kecemasan yang tinggi.

Abstract

People with mental disorders (PWMD) often face limitations in social participation, productive activities, and economic independence, which may hinder their rehabilitation process within the community. This community service program aimed to support mental health rehabilitation and the sustainability of community mental health posts through Shibori T-shirt training for PWMD and community mental health cadres in Sembung Village, Wedi District, Central Java. The activity was conducted on 29 November and involved 30 participants, consisting of PWMD and mental health cadres. A participatory and educational approach was applied, integrating creative skill training with basic occupational therapy principles through hands-on practice of Shibori techniques, including fabric folding, tying, dyeing, and finishing processes. The results showed that most PWMD participants were able to follow the training stages and successfully produce at least one Shibori T-shirt with diverse patterns and colors. In addition to technical skill acquisition, the activity contributed to positive psychosocial outcomes, such as increased self-confidence, active participation, and improved social interaction between PWMD and mental health cadres. Cadres also perceived the training as a feasible and meaningful alternative activity to support community-based mental health programs. As a follow-up plan, the Shibori T-shirt production will be continued as official uniforms for the Community Mental Health Post to strengthen participants’ sense of belonging, program sustainability, and social inclusion. In conclusion, Shibori T-shirt training can serve as an effective creative empowerment strategy to support community-based mental health rehabilitation and enhance the sustainability of mental health services at the village level.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five resulting from chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. Low parental literacy regarding child growth and developmental indicators remains a major barrier to early stunting prevention efforts. Methods: This community service activity was conducted through an interactive dialogue between a child nursing expert and a radio broadcaster on the Mozaik Indonesia program aired by LPP RRI Cirebon. The educational approach included expert-led material presentations followed by live question-and-answer sessions with the audience. Results: The educational content covered stunting risk factors, physical characteristics of stunted children, and preventive strategies through balanced nutritional intake. The audience demonstrated high levels of engagement by actively participating via radio broadcasts and the comment section of RRI Cirebon’s YouTube channel, where various questions related to child growth and development were raised and addressed in real time. Conclusion: Radio broadcasting integrated with digital platforms such as YouTube has proven to be an effective and interactive medium for disseminating health information and reaching a broader community.
