Abstract

Every day we often hear pornographic news in the mass media, social media, TV, etc. Moreover, with the existence of Android phones, it is easy to access pornographic things, especially among teenagers. That is why there are many cases of fornication, rape due to the release of the consequences of what they watch. It is inevitable that this does not happen because it has been facilitated by cellphones for every teenager. Those who are not yet old enough to know about sex according to their age, make it too early to learn about sex. Teenagers spend more time with cellphones so that they forget to do their work because they are so engrossed. That is why, in this case, parents need to accompany their children in using gadgets so that they can be controlled later in using their Android phones. We hear and see day by day, cases of sexual harassment occur and are increasing regardless of the place whether it is at home, school, public facilities, even in places that are considered sacred. We can see when we watch TV, underage children are the victims of pornography. Not a few have to deal with the police and end up being looted. Pornographic acts are also clearly shown without wearing clothes. There is no longer a sense of shame and reluctance to show off one's body aura to the media for the sake of a morsel of food that must be risked. No thought is given to the negative impacts of all this. By watching freely, the morals of the young generation are damaged, of course the targets are children, teenagers who are still fragile in their stance. They are still easily tempted by things that smell of porn. Several years ago, the government blocked porn sites but the fact that we see is that there are still those who can access them. We do not know what caused why they can still be accessed easily. Is the government not serious enough in handling this problem? Or is it because of someone's skill in fiddling with how to find the site? We leave that question. Now the most important thing is to fortify ourselves with faith in God, for parents, accompany your children in using Android, provide positive activities at home, etc.

Domestic violence (DV) is a phenomenon that significantly impacts the physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being of victims. This study aims to explore the role of pastoral counseling in assisting victims of domestic violence, specifically a woman named Ibu Butet, who experienced physical and psychological abuse from her husband and her husband’s family. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used to delve into Ibu Butet's experiences through empathetic pastoral interviews rooted in Christian spirituality. The pastoral care process focused on inner healing, discovering life’s meaning, and strengthening faith as a source of hope. The findings show that pastoral counseling provides a safe space for victims to express their emotional wounds, overcome trauma, and find new strength through spiritual reflection and prayer. In this context, the role of pastors or counselors as compassionate listeners embodying Christ’s love is crucial to the healing process. The study concludes that pastoral counseling not only helps victims cope with their suffering but also guides them to find renewed hope and purpose in life amidst difficult circumstances.

Abstract: This research aims to find out universal values for living in diversity, so that an understanding is found that being different is beautiful. Acts 10 opens a new paradigm of diversity. The Apostle Peter, who strongly adhered to Jewish traditions, was able to change his perspective through dialogue with Cornelius. These two figures worship the same God in their own ways. Peter worshiped God by upholding Jewish traditions, while Cornelis, who was a pagan, worshiped God with the knowledge he knew. Through the Acts of the Apostles, universal things about differences are found, namely 1) Differences in character are beautiful, 2) Social differences, 3) Cultural differences and 4) Ethnic differences. All differences will be beautiful, if each other understands the universal values of differences. Kisah Para Rasul 10 membuka paradigma baru tentang perbedaan. Abstract

This study examines two contrasting theological approaches in modern church life, namely Prosperity Theology and Suffering Theology. Prosperity Theology emphasizes faith as a path to health, wealth, and success, while Suffering Theology sees suffering as a means of forming faith and Christlikeness. Using a qualitative method based on literature study, this study evaluates the teachings of both approaches based on biblical sources, classical and contemporary literature, and church ministry practices in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that an imbalance in understanding these two approaches can lead to deviations in the life of faith. Therefore, an integrative theological approach is needed, which recognizes blessings and suffering as part of God's work in shaping the lives of believers. This study recommends that churches and theological educational institutions pay balanced attention to the teachings on blessings and suffering in order to produce healthy and contextual ministries.

Abstract

Character education is a very important aspect in the educational process, especially in the context of Christian Religious Education. Christian Religious Education not only aims to provide knowledge about religious teachings, but also to shape the character of students in accordance with noble Christian values. Values such as love, honesty, simplicity, and a sense of responsibility are the basis for building good character and can be applied in everyday life. Therefore, teaching Christian Religious Education needs to integrate moral and ethical learning in every teaching material. In this study, the role of Christian Religious Education in shaping the character of students is discussed, as well as strategies that can be applied in character education based on Christian teachings. Christian religious education not only teaches the teachings of the Christian faith, but also educates students to develop characters in accordance with the teachings of the Bible. The concept of character education involves teaching about love, honesty, humility, hard work, and mutual respect. Through the integration of Christian teachings and moral values taught in the educational process, it is hoped that students can build attitudes and behaviors that reflect a strong Christian identity. In this context, educators act as role models who provide a positive influence on the development of students' character. Thus, character education in Christian religious education becomes an important foundation in forming individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also emotionally and spiritually mature, and able to contribute positively to society.

Abstract

Sexuality and marriage are two important aspects of human life that have a deep spiritual dimension in the context of Christian faith. However, social, cultural, and technological developments in the modern era have presented various issues that challenge the church's traditional views on these two things, such as free sex, same-sex marriage, divorce, and interfaith marriage. This study aims to examine theologically and pastorally the Christian view of sexuality and marriage based on the Bible, and to identify the church's response to contemporary dynamics and challenges. The research was conducted using a literature study method and a contextual hermeneutic approach, and considered interdisciplinary perspectives from the fields of sociology and psychology. The results of the study indicate that the church needs to formulate an approach based on love and biblical truth in dealing with modern issues, as well as strengthen pastoral care and faith education in Christian families. Thus, a deep and relevant understanding of faith can be the basis for guiding people to live a holy sexual and marital life in the midst of a changing world.

Abstract

In the development of digital technology today, it has positive and negative impacts on all aspects of human life in the modern era, including in terms of the development of basic understanding of theology related to faith. Easy access to various information including understanding theology is felt as one form of positive impact but is also followed by negative impacts. In the midst of such a phenomenon, today's churches that still have the standard of teaching the word of God based on the traditions of the early Church and the testimony of the apostles' faith face a new, quite serious challenge, namely the widespread spread of teachings about liberal theology which has a bad and negative impact on the growth of the congregation's faith. Liberal theology is an approach in Christian theology that seeks to adapt religious teachings to the development of modern thought, including rationalism, historical criticism, and science. This approach emphasizes the importance of personal experience and reason in understanding the Christian faith, often reinterpreting traditional doctrines to suit the context of the times. For example, doctrines such as the virgin birth, the physical resurrection of Jesus, and miracles are often interpreted symbolically or allegorically in liberal theology.
