Abstract

This study discusses the role of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Institution in increasing da'wah activities in Jambi City, Jambi Province. Da'wah is an important element in strengthening Islamic values ​​and building religious awareness in society. NU, as the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, has a strategic role in spreading Islamic teachings through various programs and socio-religious activities. By using a qualitative approach to the phenomenological method, this study found that NU's role in increasing da'wah activities was carried out through an emotional approach in interactions with religious and community leaders, consistency in establishing relationships, and implementing socio-religious activities. The obstacles faced include limited human and financial resources, as well as challenges in dealing with differences in the background of community organizations. The results of this study emphasize the importance of strong leadership and effective communication strategies in increasing the effectiveness of NU's da'wah.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has significantly transformed educational systems worldwide, including Islamic education in rural areas. However, implementing distance learning (DL) in these settings presents unique challenges due to limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and socioeconomic disparities. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning in enhancing technological literacy within Islamic education in rural Sarolangun, Indonesia. A qualitative approach was employed through a systematic literature review, focusing on scholarly works related to distance education, digital literacy, and Islamic pedagogy in rural contexts. Data were gathered from academic databases using keywords such as "distance learning," "digital literacy," "Islamic education," and "rural area." The findings reveal that while digital platforms can effectively support cognitive learning, they often fall short in addressing affective and psychomotor domains crucial to Islamic education. The study also highlights the importance of integrating Islamic values into digital pedagogy to maintain spiritual authenticity. The research suggests that blended learning models combining online and face-to-face approaches offer a more adaptable solution for rural Islamic schools. Nevertheless, ongoing challenges such as technological inequity, insufficient teacher training, and cultural resistance to change must be addressed. These insights provide a foundation for designing contextually relevant and value-based distance education strategies that align with the needs and realities of rural Muslim communities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji aktivitas komunikasi nonverbal dalam tradisi kumpul sanak di Kelurahan Sengeti, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, yang merupakan salah satu bentuk kearifan lokal dalam menjaga dan mempererat hubungan kekerabatan. Tradisi ini berlangsung secara turun-temurun dan menjadi ruang penting bagi anggota keluarga besar, sanak, kerabat sekampung untuk berkumpul memberi sumbangan kepada orang yang menikahkan anaknya guna bias melangsungkan resepsi pernikahan, saling berinteraksi, serta menegaskan identitas dan peran sosial masing-masing individu dalam komunikasi nonverbal yang muncul selama berlangsungnya tradisi, serta memahami makna simbolik dari setiap ekspresi nonverbal yang ditampilkan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dengan tokoh adat, masyarakat sekitar, dan peserta tradisi, serta dokumentasi visual. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa komunikasi nonverbal dalam tradisi kumpul sanak terwujud melalui berbagai elemen, seperti ekspresi wajah penuh kehangatan, sentuhan fisik seperti salaman dan pelukan, gestur sopan saat menyapa, serta intonasi suara adat dan pengaturan tempat duduk berdasarkan senioritas. Selain itu, elemen nonverbal ini berperan penting dalam menyampaikan rasa hormat, kedekatan emosional, serta pengakuan terhadap norma dan nilai budaya setempat. Komunikasi nonverbal tidak hanya menjadi pelengkap interaksi verbal, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai sarana pelestarian identitas budaya dan penguat struktur sosial kekerabatan. Temuan ini mempertegas pentingnya pemahaman terhadap bentuk komunikasi nonverbal dalam konteks budaya lokal, terutama dalam menjaga keberlanjutan tradisi dan keharmonisan sosial di tengah arus modernisasi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the professional competence of teachers in the learning process of Islamic Religious Education at Baiturrahim Junior High School, Jambi City. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach through descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and documentation, while data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the learning process of Islamic Religious Education at Baiturrahim Junior High School, Jambi City is carried out through the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. Teachers' professional competence is already visible in several aspects, but has not been fully achieved so that it cannot be said to have complete professional competence.

Abstract

BP4 (Marriage Advisory, Development and Preservation Agency) carries no small task and has big challenges regarding growing family problems, requiring human resources related to mediation, advocacy and marriage consultants. This aims to improve organizational services that are responsive to all marriage and family issues that arise in society, including prospective bridal couples who are not approved by one of their parents. To review this phenomenon, the researcher used a qualitative approach using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The research results showed that: (1) The role of BP4 (Marriage Advisory, Development and Preservation Agency) officers in providing pre-marital counseling guidance to the prospective bride and groom 'adhal in the KUA Bajubang District, Batanghati Regency is to carry out a pre-marital guidance training program for caten which includes eight materials, namely: marriage, munakahat, the science of the soul of marriage, human life, marriage and household problems, monotheism, ubudiyah, and how to reach my home, my heaven. (2) Factors inhibiting potential guardian 'adhal brides in counseling guidance by BP4 (Marriage Advisory, Development and Preservation Agency) officers at the KUA, Bajubang District, Batanghari Regency, include: the lack of accurate data regarding marriage, divorce and the factors causing it so that BP4 difficulties in finding effective ways to provide guidance and counseling, as well as resistance from adhal guardians. (3) The effectiveness of implementing pre-marital counseling guidance for prospective brides and grooms 'adhal guardians by BP4 (Marriage Advisory, Development and Preservation Agency) officers at the KUA Bajubang District, Batanghari Regency is quite optimal. This is indicated by data on the minimal number of divorce/talak cases in the Bahubang area, Batanghari Regency when compared to other districts.

Abstract

Leadership plays a crucial role in influencing, guiding, and directing individuals or groups to achieve educational goals effectively. However, teacher work effectiveness in madrasahs is often influenced by leadership strategies, availability of facilities, workload, and teacher motivation. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of teachers’ work, identify the obstacles faced by the principal, and examine the strategies implemented to improve teacher work effectiveness at MTs Miftahul Ulum Limbur Tembesi, Sarolangun Regency. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving selected informants and respondents to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The results show that teacher work effectiveness is generally good, as teachers have carried out their responsibilities in lesson planning, implementing interactive learning, and evaluating student learning outcomes. Nevertheless, several obstacles were identified, including limited learning facilities and infrastructure, high teacher workload, and insufficient motivation among some teachers to develop professionally. To address these challenges, the principal implemented various managerial and leadership strategies, including supervision, professional guidance, motivation, and efforts to improve the learning environment, which contributed to enhancing teacher work effectiveness.
