Abstract

The conflict in the Jammu-Kashmir region has become one of the longest-running conflicts in Indian history. The Jammu-Kashmir region is an area located between India and Pakistan. Since 1948, this conflict has had many impacts both domestically in India and Pakistan, and has involved other countries in mediation and conflict resolution efforts for Jammu-Kashmir. In addition to political involvement in mediation and resolution efforts, there is also the involvement of mass media as a communication and information tool for the parties involved. The Wire is one of the mass media outlets actively covering and writing news about the Jammu-Kashmir conflict in India. In the world of journalism itself, there is a new concept called Peace Journalism. The concept of peace journalism emphasizes the role of mass media as a third party in a conflict, or in other words, as a mediator for the parties involved or affected by the conflict. The Wire is a media outlet that consistently covers and writes news related to the Jammu-Kashmir Conflict. From this consistency, it is necessary to consider The Wire's role as a medium in conveying the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the responses of the Indian-Pakistani governments in media openness. This journal will discuss how The Wire carries out its role as a mass communication and information medium in the Jammu-Kashmir conflict through the perspective of Peace Journalism. To obtain descriptive results, the author uses a literature review method, utilizing literature sources such as books, scientific journals, and internet sites relevant to the topic discussed. From this method, it was found that The Wire is included in the media that uses the concept of peace journalism in its reporting related to the Jammu-Kashmir conflict. However, in using the concept of peace journalism, The Wire does not lose its critical stance towards Indian government policies related to the Jammu-Kashmir conflict. This research is expected to provide insights into the role of mass media in conflict through the perspective of peace journalism. Abstract

This study explores the critical role of intelligence in mitigating the potential risks of social conflict disasters during the 2019 elections in Indonesia. In the context of democratic processes, elections serve as a pivotal juncture where societal tensions can escalate, leading to potential conflicts and upheavals. This research investigates how intelligence, encompassing strategic information gathering, analysis, and dissemination, can contribute to the prevention and management of such risks. By delving into the proactive measures taken by intelligence agencies this study aims to unveil the ways in which timely and accurate information can shape policies and interventions aimed at averting social conflict disasters. Findings from this research contribute to the broader discourse on the nexus between intelligence, political stability, and conflict prevention. The insights gleaned may inform future electoral strategies and enhance the effective ess of intelligence-led initiatives in safeguarding democratic processes from the destabilizing forces of social conflict. Ultimately, this study underscores the imperative for a holistic and collaborative approach in harnessing the power of intelligence to foster resilient and peaceful democratic societies.

Abstract

Posisi strategis Indonesia di kawasan Indo-Pasifik membuatnya rentan terhadap ancaman geopolitik global. Indonesia harus mengambil tindakan tegas untuk memitigasi risiko dan memperkuat kemampuan keamanan maritimnya dalam menghadapi berbagai ancaman geopolitik internasional terhadap keamanan maritimnya, tetapi ada risiko geopolitik yang kompleks dan beragam di seluruh dunia yang memengaruhi keamanan maritim Indonesia. Salah satu elemen kunci yang memengaruhi keamanan maritim Indonesia adalah persaingan di kawasan Indo-Pasifik antara negara-negara adikuasa termasuk Amerika Serikat, Tiongkok, dan Rusia. Tiongkok telah meningkatkan operasi militer dan klaim teritorialnya di Laut Cina Selatan sebagai bagian dari upayanya untuk mendapatkan pengaruh yang lebih besar di kawasan tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji ancaman yang akan dihadapi Indonesia dengan kehadiran dua kekuatan besar di kawasan Indo-Pasifik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deduktif kualitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder, baik dari buku, jurnal, internet, catatan, arsip, dan lain-lain. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa hingga saat ini posisi kekuatan militer Indonesia berada di posisi paling bawah dari negara-negara lain yang terlibat di Indo-Pasifik. Saran Indonesia perlu meningkatkan alutsista pertahanan dan keamanan agar mampu menjaga keamanan maritim Indonesia. Serta menjalin kerja sama dan membentuk aliansi agar dapat saling melindungi.Kata Kunci : Geopolitik, Keamanan Maritim, Indo-Pasifik, Ancaman, Kekuatan

Abstract

West Java Province has a high risk of disasters due to complex geological conditions, population density, and rapid urbanisation. These conditions require a paradigm shift from reactive mitigation strategies to proactive and integrated ones. This study aims to analyse the integration between vocational education in disaster management and multi-stakeholder collaboration as a strategic effort to strengthen the disaster mitigation system in West Java. Using a qualitative-descriptive method through literature review and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with relevant stakeholders, this study examines the roles and synergies within the Pentahelix model framework. Research findings indicate that vocational education in disaster management, with a practice-based learning approach (learning by doing), plays a strategic role in producing technically competent and adaptive human resources. On the other hand, the Pentahelix collaboration model, which involves the government, academics, the business world, communities, and the media, creates a comprehensive and inclusive mitigation ecosystem. The integration of these two aspects facilitates the transfer of field knowledge, scientific-policy collaboration, and increased collective awareness. This synergy produces an adaptive resilience ecosystem that bridges academic science, field practice, and community empowerment. This study concludes that strengthening cross-sector coordination, expanding the implementation of applied research, directing CSR towards mitigation activities, and optimising the media as an educational channel are key to realising a sustainable and collaborative disaster mitigation model in West Java.

Abstract

The ASEAN maritime region is a strategic area that faces various geopolitical threats, such as piracy, smuggling and territorial disputes. Overcoming this threat requires effective regional collaboration among ASEAN member countries. This research aims to analyze regional collaboration strategies that can be implemented to improve maritime security in ASEAN. The research methods used include qualitative analysis of existing cooperation initiatives, evaluation of the effectiveness of collaboration mechanisms, as well as interviews with experts and stakeholders in the field of maritime security. The research results show that strengthening dialogue mechanisms, increasing the capacity of member countries, developing maritime infrastructure, and collaborating with external partners are key elements in the regional collaboration strategy.

Abstract

Research analysis with qualitative methods that explain the relationship between the theory of maritime diplomacy and maritime security in the discussion. The correlation of Indonesian environmental law and international environmental law in the understanding between countries which is the basis for acting between countries so that there are safe limits and do not violate international or domestic Indonesian agreements. The discussion refers to the development of maritime diplomacy by analyzing the threat of pollution and environmental damage experienced by Indonesia. The results of research that takes environmental problems including pollution, wastewater that have occurred provide an overview of the threat of pollution and environmental damage that can arise from various sources, including pollution, climate change, deforestation, and unsustainable exploitation of natural resources.

Abstract

Fenomena perjudian daring atau online gambling telah menjadi ancaman serius bagi stabilitas sosial dan ketertiban masyarakat di Indonesia. Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang semakin masif memungkinkan aktivitas judi online meluas tanpa batas ruang dan waktu, melibatkan berbagai kalangan masyarakat dari usia muda hingga dewasa. Kota Mojokerto, sebagai kota dengan pertumbuhan digital yang pesat, turut menghadapi tantangan ini. Artikel konseptual ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran strategis Pemerintah Kota Mojokerto dalam pemberantasan judi online sebagai bagian dari upaya menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban masyarakat (kamtibmas). Melalui pendekatan studi literatur, artikel ini menganalisis dinamika kebijakan pemerintah daerah, kolaborasi dengan lembaga penegak hukum, serta penguatan kapasitas masyarakat dalam menghadapi ancaman digital. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Pemerintah Kota Mojokerto memiliki posisi penting dalam membangun tata kelola keamanan berbasis digital melalui sinergi antarinstansi, literasi digital masyarakat, serta optimalisasi kebijakan lokal yang berpihak pada keamanan siber. Namun, tantangan seperti keterbatasan kewenangan daerah dan kompleksitas jaringan kejahatan digital masih menjadi hambatan signifikan. Kajian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan integratif berbasis kolaborasi multipihak dan inovasi teknologi untuk membentuk ekosistem masyarakat digital yang aman dan beretika.

Abstract

Indonesia’s success in disaster management cannot be separated from the military’s role. The military plays a strategic role by mobilizing military resources on a massive scale through the military command system. However, the ability of Indonesian Army (TNI AD) soldiers and organizations, in general, is considered to have limited capabilities specifically for personnel handling natural disasters. This research aims to map the disaster management implemented by the Indonesian Army in disaster response through the Incident Management System. Data collection was conducted interactively through qualitative methods with in-depth interviews with the Indonesian Army’s Supply and Transportation Unit (Pusbekangad). The research results show that the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) has competent resources in disaster response, involving the Indonesian Army’s Supply and Transportation Unit, which has primary skills and capabilities in logistics and transportation. These capabilities are facilitated by the Incident Management System, which is structured, systematic, and well-organized. The Incident Management System built by the Indonesian Army involves an incident commander, operation section, planning section, logistics section, finance/administration section, driver section, and the cooking team as a trained, capable, experienced, and ready-to-deploy ad-hoc organization in all operational areas. Indonesian Army uses the Incident Management System to respond to disasters such as earthquakes in Cianjur, South Kalimantan floods, and West Sulawesi floods. The Incident Management System serves

Abstract

The land philosophy embraced by indigenous communities fundamentally represents a microcosm of patriotic character. When discussing ancestral land philosophy, indigenous communities demonstrate profound reverence for inherited land, perceiving it as a living entity or maternal figure that embodies values of loyalty and filial piety. This perspective fosters responsible attitudes toward environmental conservation, as land is viewed as a living being that requires protection. Indigenous land philosophy places strong emphasis on intergenerational responsibility to preserve land for future descendants. This aligns with efforts to maintain national cultural heritage through the preservation of ancestral land values. The concept of communal land ownership within indigenous communities also reflects values of unity and mutual cooperation that form the foundation of communal life. The profound connection to homeland represents a shared emphasis in both indigenous land philosophy and patriotic spirit. Indonesia's independence struggle history has demonstrated how threats to ancestral land sovereignty can ignite patriotic resistance. This study utilizes qualitative literature review with systematic content analysis. Data was collected from academic sources including books and journal articles relevant to the research topic, This reflects a holistic approach to national loyalty and identity, where connection to land transcends physical boundaries to include spiritual and cultural dimensions, forming a robust foundation for authentic and sustainable love of country. The indigenous perspective on land thus provides valuable insights into how traditional wisdom can inform and enrich contemporary understandings of patriotism and national identity.

Abstract

This article thoroughly investigates the optimization of defense logistics management within national border areas, with a distinct focus on integrating a "soft power" approach. Border regions are inherently complex, characterized by extreme geographical conditions, challenging accessibility, and intricate socio-cultural dynamics, all of which demand the implementation of highly adaptive, efficient, and strategically nuanced logistics systems. Beyond its traditional function of facilitating the movement of goods and operational support, defense logistics is presented as a crucial mechanism for cultivating trust, actively supporting community well-being, and significantly enhancing regional stability. This qualitative research, conducted through an extensive literature review and descriptive-analytical analysis, meticulously analyzes various facets of logistics support systems—ranging from planning and procurement to efficient storage and diverse transportation methods—and examines various logistics distribution models, emphasizing the indispensable role of active local community involvement and robust cross-sectoral collaboration. The key findings unequivocally demonstrate that effective and strategically applied defense logistics is not merely foundational for robust military operations but also functions as a powerful catalyst for fostering positive civil-military relations, ultimately contributing to sustainable development, enhanced security, and enduring stability in these critical border regions.
