Abstract

Introduction: Work stress is the most common problem experienced by health workers including nurses. In certain occasion, nurses did series of tasks that not in accordance with their physical abilities, expertise, and time. Therefore, stress associated works was commonly reported. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between dual role conflict and work stress of female nurses in the clinical setting. Methods: This study applied a cross-sectional approach. The sample was obtained by using purposive sampling. A total of 80 female nurses involved in the study . Data was conducted by self-report questionnaire sheet instrument. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied to analyzed data. The significant level was set as p≤0.05. Results: The results indicated that the majority (66.2%) of female nurses experienced high dual role conflict, and most of them (72.5%) experienced heavy work stress. Based on the results of the Spearman Rho test, it was found that the value of p ≤0.001 (p ≤0.05) and the value of rₛ = 0.698. The current study shows strong and significant relationship between dual role conflict and work stress among female nurses. Conclusions: : In comparison to female nurses in the outpatient rooms, one day care, or other settings, those who work in inpatient ward with dual roles presented a higher workload. Stress associated with heavy workload found to be a common. Nurse managers should concern on promoting and supporting working environment by way monitoring work-load.

Abstract

Introduction:The level of knowledge about the types of teaching instruction through blended learning in nursing education is still lacking. This study aims to develop blended learning using contextual learning and evaluate its effect on procedural knowledge and interprofessional collaboration. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was conducted from January to March 2022. The total participants were 96 students from one of the nursing departments in Indonesia, who were equally divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received a blended learning method with a combination of contextual learning for 400 minutes for four meetings. Meanwhile, 48 students in the control group received traditional blended learning. Mann-Whitney U test to compare between treatment and control groups. The instrument used to measure the interprofessional education variable was the Nurse–Physician Collaboration Scale and procedural knowledge was measured through a test of 25 multiple choice questions about procedural knowledge. Results: The implementation of blended learning based on contextual teaching significantly increased their procedural knowledge (pre M = 43.30 vs post M = 79.00), and interprofessional collaboration (pre M = 58.08 vs post M = 83.79) with p-value < 0.01. Conclusions: Blended learning using contextual learning was effective for increasing procedural knowledge and interprofessional collaboration in nursing students. The application of this instruction is highly recommended for nursing departments in higher education institutions as an effort to achieve qualified health workers for sustainable development and well-being.

Abstract

Corona virus Disease 2019 causes health problems in the world in the form of a health crisis which results in psychological problems such as fear and anxiety. So a study is needed to find out the factors that influence psychology and stigma during the Covid-19 pandemic. Study was a literature review based on 5 databases (Scopus, CINAHL, Science Direct, PubMed, and ProQuest), involving cross-sectional or quasi-experimental, in March 2021. Center for Review and Dissemination and JBI Guidelines were used to measure quality and checklists PRISMA for guide reviews. Feasibility study based on title, abstract, full text, and research method. Eleven articles met the criteria. Most of the factors related to psychological conditions and stigma have a quasi-experimental and cross-sectional design. The mean number of participants was over 1,000 for each study and discussed psychological conditions and factors associated with social stigma. Factors related to psychological conditions were age, education, gender, symptoms and health conditions, information, economy, exposure duration and social support, while factors related to stigma were environment, history of comorbid illnesses, discrimination, and community perceptions.Keywords: psychological condition; stigma; Covid-19 ABSTRAK Corona virus Disease 2019 menimbulkan masalah kesehatan di dunia berupa krisis kesehatan yang mengakibatkan masalah psikologis seperti rasa takut and cemas. Maka diperlukan studi untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi psikologis dan stigma selama pandemi Covid-19. Studi merupakan literature review berbasis 5 database (Scopus, CINAHL, Science Direct, PubMed, dan ProQuest), yang melibatkan cross-sectional atau kuasi-eksperimental, pada bulan Maret 2021. Pusat Tinjauan dan Diseminasi dan Panduan JBI digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas dan daftar periksa PRISMA untuk ulasan panduan. Studi kelayakan berdasarkan judul, abstrak, teks lengkap, dan metode penelitian. Sebelas artikel memenuhi kriteria. Sebagian besar faktor yang berhubungan dengan kondisi psikologis dan stigma memiliki desain kuasi eksperimental dan cross-sectional. Rerata peserta adalah lebih dari seribu untuk setiap studi dan membahas kondisi psikologis dan faktor yang terkait dengan stigma sosial. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan kondisi psikologis adalah usia, pendidikan, jenis kelamin, symptoms and health conditions, informasi, ekonomi, exposure duration dan social support, sedangkan faktor yang berhubungan dengan stigma adalah lingkungan, riwayat penyakit komorbid, diskriminasi, dan persepsi masyarakat.Kata kunci: kondisi psikologis; stigma; Covid-19

Abstract

Nurses in providing nursing care to patients must refer to the SOP that has been implemented by the hospital, including adherence to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in treating patients with a positive attitude and high motivation. It is expected that a nurse has good behavior in using PPE. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between attitude and motivation for using personal protective equipment (PPE) at Ngimbangs Hospital. This study used a correlational analytic design with the cross-sectional method and used a random sampling technique to obtain 88 respondents. Research data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of a nurse’s attitude questionnaire, motivation scale, and compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) questionnaire. All questionnaires were declared valid and reliable. The results showed a positive attitude with high adherence of 46 nurses (53.3%). The data were analyzed using the Spearman rho test and obtained a value of p= 0.000 and a value of 0,516, meaning that there is a relationship between attitudes and adherence to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in Ngimbang Hospital. The result showed the nurses who had high motivation and high compliance were 46 nurses (52.3%). The research data were analyzed using the Spearman rho test and obtained a value of p= 0.000 and a value of 0,508, maintaining the health and comfort of nurses in any type of work environment, especially in a hospital.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is a global pandemic that strikes various groups, including nurses. Nurses are the health workers who are most exposed to COVID-19. Besides causing physical symptoms, COVID-19 also brings psychological symptoms, which need to be studied more deeply. The purpose of this study was to investigate post-covid psychological impact on nurses from the perspective of Indonesian nurses. Methods: This study was conducted using a descriptive approach on 187 nurses working in health services in Lamongan Regency who were exposed to COVID-19 and selected by purposive sampling. Psychological conditions studied included depression, which was measured by the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9); anxiety, measured by general anxiety disorder-7 (GAD-7); and insomnia, measured by the Sleep Condition Indicator (SCI). The data was collected from June to July 2022 using a Google form and analyzed descriptively.Results: The results showed that 55.1% of nurses were female, 87.7% were aged 22-45 years, 73.8% worked in hospitals, 87.2% worked in health services for more than 20 years, 81.8% smoked, and 18.2% were hospitalized when exposed to COVID-19. The results showed that 31.6% of nurses experienced mild to severe anxiety, 32.1% experienced mild to severe depression, and 9.1% experienced insomnia.Conclusion: Psychological symptoms experienced by nurses after being exposed to COVID-19 included anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Psychosocial stress factors and or pathophysiology of viral infections may trigger psychological disorders. Future researchers are recommended to examine further the factors contributing to psychological disorders in nurses and how long nurses experience post-covid psychological disorders.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Rendahnya loyalitas pasien pada rumah sakit menjadi salah satu masalah. Ketidakpuasan pasien terhadap pelayanan rumah sakit yang diterimanya akan menimbulkan complaint. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui hubungan complaint handling dengan loyalitas pasien di rawat inap rumah sakit islam nashrul ummah lamongan.. Metode: Desain pada penelitian ini adalah analitik korelasi dengan pendekatan crossectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini berjumlah 172 sampel di pilih dengan teknik Consecutive Sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner complaint handling dan loyalitas pasien. Setelah ditabulasi data dianalisis menggunakan uji Spearman’ rho yang dihitung dengan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil: Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar pasien memiliki complaint handling sedang yaitu (72,1%), sebagian besar pasien memiliki loyalitas sedang yaitu (65,2%). Hasil uji Spearman’rho didapatkan rs = 0,587 dan p = 0,000. Artinya terdapat hubungan complaint handling dengan loyalitas pasien di rawat inap rumah sakit islam nashrul ummah lamongan dengan tingkat kolerasi sedang. Kesimpulan: Kemampuan complaint handling harus dimiliki setiap rumah sakit hal ini dapat meningkatkan loyalitas, mutu, dan kualitas pelayanan di rumah sakit

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Perilaku caring merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam pelayanan kesehatan, namun masih banyak permasalahan yang dihadapi. Implementasinya dalam hal ini terkait dengan kurangnya pengetahuan tentang diversity, equity, dan clusion (DEI) saat perawatan yang berdampak pada buruknya kualitas pelayanan kepada pasien. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan tingkat pengetahuan diversity, equity, dan clusion (DEI) dengan perilaku caring di RSI Nashrul Ummah Lamongan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling sebanyak 82 perawat di RSI Nashrul Ummah Lamongan. Alat penelitian menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan DEI oleh BMG dan dimodifikasi kembali oleh peneliti yang telah diuji validitasnya dengan nilai (r>0,4438, p>0,50) dan untuk perilaku caring menggunakan kuesioner perilaku caring oleh Swason dengan nilai validitas rhitung (r>0,4132, p>0,50) yang dianalisis secara bivariat menggunakan Uji Rank Spearmen. Hasil: Analisis menunjukkan korelasi negatif lemah antara tingkat pengetahuan DEI dengan perilaku caring (r = [-0,256], p < [0,05]). Terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan DEI dengan perilaku caring. Kesimpulan: Peningkatan pengetahuan DEI pada perawat tidak memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap penerapan perilaku caring. Diharapkan pihak rumah sakit dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan DEI melalui pelatihan DEI untuk meningkatkan perilaku caring pada pasien.

Abstract

Introduction: Having children during marriage is a way to preserve the family lineage. To be childfree leads to negative stigma from society and even one's own family. However, not all couples want to have children, some of them choose to be childfree. Objective: This study aimed to review literature about the perspective of women who choose to be childfree. Methods: The literature search about being childfree used electronic databases, namely Scopus and PubMed, with the keywords “childfree," "quality of life" and “life satisfaction.” The studies included discuss the factors, impacts and satisfaction of a childfree life. This search was restricted to articles published in 2018-2023 and were analyzed by qualitative synthesis. Results: There were 309 articles from both electronic databases, which were then sorted according to the PRISMA diagram, so that there were 14 articles that met the criteria. The articles were grouped into 12 qualitative articles and two quantitative articles. There are five main factors that cause women to be childfree, including individual, health, economic, family and environmental factors. Most women reported experiencing societal stigmatization, social pressure and pressure from the family. Even though they experience the negative impacts of childfree, they still feel satisfaction with life. Conclusion: The perspectives of childfree women are diverse, ranging from the reasons for choosing to be childless, the social and emotional impacts and the level of life satisfaction. Abstract

Abstrak: Bullying merupakan masalah global yang sedang dihadapi oleh jutaan remaja di berbagai negara, dengan prevalensi lokasi kejadian terbanyak di lingkungan sekolah. Tujuan dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang bullying. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan di SMP N 5 Lamongan dengan melibatkan 30 siswa. Kegiatan dilakukan secara offline dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan focus group discussion (FGD). Siswa diberikan pertest dan post test menggunakan kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berhasil meningkatkan 100% pengetahuan siswa tentang bullying serta memberikan dampak lebih aktif kepada siswa untuk berkomunikasi. Penguatan kapasitas siswa dan dukungan peer group dapat mencegah kejadian bullying pada remaja.Abstract: Bullying is a global problem that is being faced by millions of adolescents in various countries, with the prevalence of the location of the most incidents in the school environment. The purpose of community service is to increase students' knowledge about bullying. The community service was conducted at SMP N 5 Lamongan involving 30 students. Activities were carried out offline using lecture and focus group discussion (FGD) methods. Students were given a test and post test using a questionnaire before and after the activity. This community service activity succeeded in increasing 100% of students' knowledge about bullying and had an impact on students to be more active in communicating. Strengthening student capacity and peer group support can prevent bullying in adolescents.

Abstract

Introduction: Bullying is a health problem that often affects adolescents, especially some adolescents in schools who do not have good self-management. Self-management plays an important role in improving skills in managing students' emotions, thoughts, and behavior in a positive way to prevent bullying in adolescents. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-management and bullying prevention in adolescents. Methods: This study used a descriptive design with a cross-sectional study approach. The population in this study was students at one of the public junior high schools in Lamongan Regency who were identified as having experienced bullying in the school environment, with a total of 96 students. This study was conducted on 72 adolescents using purposive sampling. Self-management assessment used a self-management scale questionnaire for students, while bullying prevention was measured using a bullying scale questionnaire. Data were tabulated and analyzed using the Spearman Rank rho test. Results: The results of statistical tests show that self-management is related to the ability to prevent bullying in adolescents with a p-value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient (r=0.716). Conclusions: Self-management is a key component in preventing bullying in adolescents in schools. The self-management approach requires collaboration with teachers and a positive school climate.
