Abstract

During the late 19th century, sago in Ambon turned out not only to be a subsistence crop used as a staple food, but also as a commercial crop. Historical sources shown that sago became one of the important commodities in trade in the 19th century, as one of the commodities that affected the economy of the Ambonese people and the colonial government. Sago became a prominent commodity when the spices trade decreased. So, there is commercialization process of sago as an important trade commodity. In this connection, this article examines several issues, the sago became a strategic commodity and the role of sago in the Ambonese economy during 1880-1900. It is analyzed by using the historical method, which emphasized on primary sources based on official reports in the form of colonial publications. According to the study, between 1880 -1900 it was known that the local community and colonial government traded the sago. One interesting thing is that aside from being a staple food, sago is also used as a currency that is bartered with other commodities that have the same value. For the colonial government, sago became a commercial commodity that was quite productive, even having become an export commodity to various countries, such as Singapore and Europe. The colonial government sold sago in various forms such as bundles, basketry, slabs, flour, and grains. In addition, the government also rents sago lands to Christians and Muslims merchants for a specified period and cost.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang apa guna pembelajaran sejarah atau ilmu sejarah dan apa pengaruh belajar sejarah di masa kini. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian sejarah dengan pendekatan historical narative dan literatur review. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan beberpa hal yakni Pertama Sejarah merupakan salah satu yang termaksud dalam ilmu kemanusiaan bersamaan dengan ilmu ekonomi, sosiologi dan antropologi, psikologi, perbandingan agama, dan lain sebagainya. Kedua ilmu ilmu sejarah berguna untuk banyak aspek diantaranya: bidang pendidikan, bidang penelitian, jurnalisme, pegawai negeri seperti pegawai departemen luar negeri, diplomat, konsultan jenderal di luar negeri, dan masih banyak lainnya. This article aims to provide an overview of what the benefits of studying history or historical science are and what the influence of studying history is today. The method used is the historical research method with a historical narrative approach and literature review. From this research, several things can be concluded, namely: Firstly, history is one of the humanities sciences along with economics, sociology and anthropology, psychology, comparative religion, and so on. Both historical sciences are useful for many aspects including: education, research, journalism, civil servants such as foreign department employees, diplomats, general consultants abroad, and many others

Abstract

Abstrak: Metode diskusi adalah sebuah pendekatan dalam berkomunikasi yang melibatkan pertukaran ide, pendapat, dan informasi antara beberapa individu atau kelompok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran metode diskusi dalam meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yaitu suatu penelitian yang dikembangkan berdasarkan permasalahan yang muncul dalam kegiatan pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran berbasis diskusi memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan kemampuan mereka dalam berpikir kritis. Diskusi memungkinkan siswa untuk aktif berpartisipasi, menyampaikan pendapat dan menganalisis informasi sehingga membantu mereka mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis secara efektif. Peran guru sebagai fasilitator dalam mengelola diskusi, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung dan membimbing siswa dalam merespons informasi secara kritis sangatlah penting. Selain itu, siswa juga mengapresiasi manfaat diskusi dalam mendalami pemahaman materi, meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pemahaman tentang efektivitas metode diskusi sebagai salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa di kelas.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                      Edukasi dan pelestarian peninggalan sejarah kepada mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah berkerjasama dengan masyarakata setempat mengenalkan tempat bersejarah dan mengadakan pembugaran makam Nyatok. Bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan pengetahuan tetang peninggalan sejarah dan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat untuk melestarikan peninggalan bersejarah yang ada di Desa Rembitan. Metode yang digunakan adalah mengenalkan tempat peniggalan sejarah dan bergotong royong bersama masyarakat melestarikan peninggalan sejarah seperti, Cakar budaya Masjid Kuno Rembitan, Rumah asli suku sasak Dusun Sade dan Makam Wali Nyatoq. Hasil dari kegiatan edukasi dan pelestarian tempat peningalan sejarah bahwa mahasiswa antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan edukasi dan pelestarian tempat peninggalan sejarah dan masyarakat juga antusias berkerjasama mengenalkan dan melestarikan tempat bersejarah di desa Rembitan.  Kata kunci: Edukasi Masyarakat; Peningalan Sejarah; Lombok Tengah. ABSTRACT The aim of this project is to educate history students on the importance of preserving historical heritage in collaboration with local communities. The project seeks to provide insight into historical relics and promote socialization within the community to encourage of historical artifacts in Rembitan Village. The method used is to identify historical heritage sites and collaborate with the community to preserve them. Examples of such sites include the Rembitan Ancient Mosque, the traditional house of the Sasak tribe in Sade Hamlet, and the Tomb of Wali Nyatoq. Abstract

ABSTRAK Makam Loang Baloq merupakan salah satu situs sejarah  yang beralokasi di Kota Mataram.  Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan situs sejarah yang ada di Kota Mataram supaya dikenal oleh masyarakat. Metode yang dilakukan adalah observasi, ekplorasi ide,  perencangan, dan pelaksanaan kegiaatan. Pihak yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini adalah Petugas penunggu makam, dosen pembimbing, mahasiswa program pendidikan sejarah  Fakulas Keguruan Ilmu dan Pendidikan UMMat. Hasil dari kegiatan  ini berupa merawat situs sejarah dan mengenal sejarah makam Loang Baloq. Adapun informasi sejarah makam Loang Baloq  dapat menambah wawasan sejarah lokal mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah.    Kata kunci: Perawatan, Pengenalan, Makam Loang Baloq, Mataram   ABSREACTLoang Baloq Tomb is one of the allocated historical sites in Mataram City.  The purpose of this service activity is to introduce historical sites in Mataram City so that they are known by the public. The methods carried out are observation, exploration of ideas, planning, and implementation of activities. The parties involved in this activity are grave waiting officers, supervisors, students of the history education program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education UMMat. The result of this activity is in the form of caring for historical sites and getting to know the history of Loang Baloq's tomb. Abstract

This research generally aims to: a) describe the efforts of the Sasak people in maintaining the existence of the Kayaq Sandongan art; b) the values contained in the Kayaq Sandongan art as the civic culture of the Sasak people. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research object is the values of character education and the meaning of character education values in Kayaq Sandongan. Data was collected by determining the units and recording then analyzed by data reduction and data analysis. Inference based on four categories of educational character values. Semantic validity and expert interviews were used to validate the research results. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the existence of Kayaq Sandongan is maintained because there is a community that supports the Kayaq Sandongan art, artists who have passed it down from generation to generation and support for the village and district governments. There are four values of character education in the Kayaq Sandongan mask dance, namely: 1) religious values, 2) values of responsibility and hard work, 3) values of tolerance, and 4) values of caring for the environment.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                            Pelestarian budaya lokal di tengah derasnya arus globalisasi menjadi tantangan utama, terutama dalam mempertahankan eksistensi gendang beleq sebagai warisan budaya Sasak. Generasi muda cenderung kurang mengenal dan mencintai budaya tradisional, sehingga diperlukan upaya sistematis untuk memperkenalkannya sejak usia dini. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kecintaan siswa SDN 1 Sukaraja terhadap budaya Sasak melalui pelatihan gendang beleq. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi dan praktik langsung. Kegiatan ini melibatkan siswa dari kelas 4 hingga 6 sebagai peserta dengan jumlah 24 siswa pada bulan Agustus dan 26 siswa pada bulan September, dengan bimbingan guru seni dan pelatih profesional dari komunitas seni lokal. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dan kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, mencakup aspek keterampilan teknis, pemahaman budaya, serta perubahan karakter siswa. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam beberapa aspek: 70% siswa menjadi sangat tertarik terhadap budaya lokal (sebelumnya hanya 40%), 60% siswa menguasai teknik dasar gendang beleq, dan 50% memahami filosofi budaya Sasak. Selain itu, 85% siswa menunjukkan peningkatan kedisiplinan, kerja sama, dan kepercayaan diri. Program ini berhasil membangkitkan antusiasme siswa sekaligus menjadi langkah strategis dalam melestarikan warisan budaya Sasak. Kata kunci: Gendang beleq; budaya Sasak; pelestarian budaya. ABSTRACTPreservation of local culture amidst the strong currents of globalization poses a significant challenge, particularly in maintaining the existence of gendang beleq as a cultural heritage of the Sasak people. The younger generation tends to have limited knowledge and appreciation of traditional culture, necessitating systematic efforts to introduce it from an early age. This activity aims to enhance the appreciation of Sasak culture among students of SDN 1 Sukaraja through gendang beleq training. The implementation methods include socialization and hands-on practice. This activity involves students from grades 4 to 6 as participants with a total of 24 students in August and 26 students in September 2024, under the guidance of art teachers and professional trainers from the local art community. Evaluation was conducted through observations, interviews, and questionnaires administered before and after the training, covering aspects of technical skills, cultural understanding, and changes in students' character. The training results showed significant improvements in several aspects: 70% of students developed a strong interest in local culture (up from 40%), 60% mastered the basic techniques of gendang beleq, and 50% gained an understanding of Sasak cultural philosophy. Furthermore, 85% of students demonstrated increased discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence. This program successfully sparked students' enthusiasm and served as a strategic step toward preserving the cultural heritage of the Sasak people. Keywords: Gendang beleq Sasak culture; cultural preservation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the activities of the Port of Ampenan as an important trading port on the island of Lombok in the 19th century. The method used in this study is the historical science research method which consists of gathering sources (heuristics), source criticism (verification), reasoning (interpretation) and writing (historiography). The concept used in this study is the port concept which examines ports from an economic standpoint, especially in terms of trade. The results showed that in the 19th century Ampenan Harbor was one of the active ports which became the center of shipping and trade on the island of Lombok. Around 1840 until the end of the 19th century, the Port of Ampenan was used as a center for trade activities between islands on the island of Lombok. The commodities traded are divided into two, namely commodities based on politics (rice, textiles, rifles, ammunition, opium, and liquor) and commodities based on needs (green beans, eggs, bird's nest, tobacco, tarum, cattle and horses, fish , wood sandalwood, sea cucumbers, turtles, and so on). Apart from being a local shipping and trade route, Ampenan Port is also included in international trade routes. There are several shipping companies that are active in shipping and trading at Ampenan Port, such as European, Chinese and Singaporean companies.

Abstract

ABSTRAKProgram Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK ORMAWA) adalah salah satu implementasi dari Merdeka Belajar yang dapat melalui proses Pembinaan Organisasi Kemahasiswaan di Perguruan Tinggi masing-masing Lembaga/Instansi dengan bentuk Pengabdian  kepada Masyarakat yang diterapkan dalam kebijakan KEMENDIKBUDRISTEK. Adapun kegiatan PPK Ormawa pengabdian  masyarakat  dengan topik Desa/ Kelurahan Maritim dengan  tujuan untuk mengintegrasikan upaya pelestarian lingkungan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat pesisir lingkungan di Kelurahan Bintaro, Kecamatan Ampenan, Kota Mataram, NTB. Metode yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan  partisipatif, melibatkan aktifitas kolaborasi antara Mahasiswa dan Akademisi, Organisasi Masyarakat, melalui sosialisasi, Pelatihan serta Pendampingan secara berkala. Ada beberapa fokus identifikasi permasalahan dalam program penguatan kapasitas organisasi kemahasiswaan oleh tim HMPS Pendidikan Sejarah yakni: di Bidang Lingkungan, Bidang Ekonomi, Bidang Pendidikan, dan Bidang Kesehatan yang dapat dikembangkan dengan  menciptakan solusi yang efektif  dan dapat berkelanjutan. Melalui program pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pengembangan keterampilan Masyarakat Pesisir untuk meningkatkan kapasistas masyarakat pesisir, Potensi wilayah sekitar dan masyarakat mengoptimalkan sumber daya yang dimiliki untuk meningkatan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan bersama. Hasil dari pengabdian  masyarakat dapat memberikan dampak dan menjadi role model untuk masyarakat untuk tetap menjaga pelestarian lingkungan pesisir, meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat melalui bidang ekonomi, meningkatkan literasi anak-anak pesisir dalam bidang pendidikan, dan mengatasi stunting dalam bidang kesehatan diharapkan dapat tercipta. Keseimbangan yang berkelanjutan antara kualitas sumber daya dan pembangungan ekonomi keberlanjutan sehingga masyarakat pesisir akan terlatih dan dapat menikmati manfaat dalam jangka panjang. Kata Kunci: maritim; pelestarian; lingkungan; pendidikan; PPK ORMAWA. ABSTRACTThe Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK ORMAWA) is one of the implementations of Merdeka Belajar which can be done through the process of developing Student Organizations in each Institution/Agency in the form of Community Service which is implemented in the KEMENDIKBUDRISTEK policy. The PPK Ormawa community service activities are on the topic of Maritime Villages/Subdistricts with the aim of integrating environmental conservation efforts and environmental empowerment of coastal communities in Bintaro Village, Ampenan District, Mataram City, NTB. The method used is a participatory approach, involving collaborative activities between students and academics, community organizations, through regular outreach, training and mentoring. There are several focuses on problem identification in the program to strengthen the capacity of student organizations by the HMPS History Education team, namely: in the Environmental Sector, Economic Sector, Education Sector and Health Sector which can be developed by creating effective and sustainable solutions. Through training and mentoring programs in developing the skills of Coastal Communities to increase the capacity of coastal communities, the potential of the surrounding area and the community optimizes the resources they have to increase income and collective prosperity. The results of community service can have an impact and become a role model for the community to maintain the preservation of the coastal environment, increase community income through the economic sector, increase the literacy of coastal children in the education sector, and overcome stunting in the health sector. A sustainable balance between resource quality and sustainable economic development so that coastal communities will be trained and can enjoy benefits in the long term. Keywords: maritime; preservation; environment; education; PPK ORMAWA.

Abstract

Abstrak Sosialisasi Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah dan Supervisi Pendidikan dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk membantu pimpinan yayasan, kepala sekolah, guru, dan mahasiswa  pendidikan sejarah dalam mengembangkan pengelolaan sekolah dan Pondok Pesantren. Mempersiapkan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan untuk mewujudkan solusi yang ditawarkan dilaksanakan secara bersama anggota tim pengusul dengan mitra. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan di Sekolah MTs- IT Pondok Pesantren Assohwah Al-Islamiyah Gerung Lombok Barat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan diadakan  pada tanggal 09 Juli 2024,  selama 1 hari yang dihadiri oleh 25 orang yang dihadiri oleh pimpinan yayasan, kepala sekolah, guru dan mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah. Pembahasan materi yang disampaikan bermanfaat untuk mengingkatkan kembali menajemen berbasis sekolah dan pengelolaan sekolah yang lebih baik.  Kegiatan dapat peningkatan mutu pelayanan pendidikan di sekolah dan pimpinan yayasan dan kepala sekolah perlu memperhatikan unsur pengelola pendidikan untuk menentukan kemajuan sekolah. Kata Kunci:  sosialisasi manajemen; supervisi pendidikan; Assohwah Al-Islamiyah AbstractThe Socialization of School-Based Management and Educational Supervision was a resounding success. It helped foundation leaders, principals, teachers, and history education students develop school management and Islamic boarding schools.The proposing team and partners collaboratively prepared and implemented activities to realize the offered solutions. These activities were implemented at the MTs-IT School of Assohwah Al-Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School in Gerung, West Lombok. The event took place on July 9, 2024, spanning a single day, and was attended by 25 individuals, including foundation leaders, principals, teachers, and history education students.The discussion of the material presented proved to be invaluable in enhancing school-based management and improving the quality of education services in schools. It is imperative for foundation leaders and school principals to prioritize the elements of education management to effectively assess school progress. Keywords: management socialization; education supervision; Assohwah Al-Islamiyah
