Abstract

Ikatan Warga Bugbu (IWB) Denpasar memiliki visi dan misi untuk meningkatkatkan kualitas sumber daaya manusia dengan cara pelatihan bahasa Inggris yang dikemas dalam bentuk English Course. Program ini dibentuk oleh ketua IWB Denpasar untuk mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia yang handal dalam rangka persaingan tenaga kerja di era 4.0. Proses penyelenggaraan kursus ini berlangsung selama satu tahun dan diselenggarakan di area Pura Gumang Denpasar yang beralamatkan Jalan Puputan Baru. Gg. VII Monang-Maning Denpasar. Metode yang digunakan dalm proses pembelajaran adalah metode persuasif, yaitu merangsang peserta didik umtuk belajar bahasa Inggris dengan cara motivasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran ini adalah konteks situasi yang diprakarsai oleh Halliday, yaitu field, tenor, dan mode. Hasil pembelajaran yang dicapai dalam setahun menunjukkan bahwa semangat para peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sangat tinggi. Hal tersebut bisa dilihat dari sudut keberlangsungan proses belajar yang dihadiri oleh sejumlah peserta didik sertasemnagat para pendidik yang sangat tinggi. Proses penyaluran keterampilan yang penuh dengan rasa tulus iklas, ngayah. Cinta kasih para pendidik kepada para peserta didik merupakan wujud bhakti yang sangat tinggi kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa serta menjalankan ideologi Pancasila.

Abstract

Penyakit virus Corona menjadi perhatian khusus dunia termasuk Indonesia. Penyakit virus ini tidak hanya berdampak pada aspek kesehatan, tetapi juga memberikan imbas pada aspek-aspek lainnya, misalnya, ekonomi, budaya, pendidikan, politik, dan lain-lain. Dampak-dampak di luar kesehatan yang muncul semakin jelas di masyarakat. Berita atau isu yang tidak bertanggungjawab memberikan kepanikan masyarakat sehingga ketakutan masyarakat terhadap penyakit Corona sangat berlebihan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Mei 2020 pukul 14:00-15:00 Wita melalui daring. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan solusi terhadap fenomena yang terjadi di masyarakat dengan pendekatan Linguistik Fungsional Sistemik, yaitu pendekatan persuasif yang mengedepankan penggunaan bahasa yang mengandung unsur sosial dan budaya. Pendekatan tersebut dipandang sangat penting karena pendekatan tersebut menitikberatkan pada pendekatan masyarakat dengan memberikan pemaparan tentang program pemerintah dengan cara persuasif.

Abstract

The times, students and teachers are required to be creative, innovative and know all the information that can be received through ICT-based learning media. The purpose of this service is to overcome the problem of lack of teacher knowledge in the development of information communication and technology (ICT)-based learning media. Activities are carried out in two stages, namely socialization activities, and mentoring. ICT-based learning does not always have advantages but also disadvantages in its application. One of the applications of ICT in learning is the use of learning media that can improve the quality of students' abilities. Multimedia-based learning such as technology that involves text, images, sound and video can present subject matter that is more interesting, not monotonous, and facilitates delivery. Through mentoring activities, the development of ICT-based learning prepared by teachers can improve its quality, so that the learning process is in line with the demands of skills according to the development of the times based on science and technology. The use of the internet in the world of teaching will help the world of teaching increase the quantity of students. The results of PKM socialization and mentoring at SMA Taman Rama Denpasar, resulted in outcomes and achievement targets 1) The preparation of an ICT-based Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) for each subject. 2) certificates for teachers who participate in socialization and mentoring.

Abstract

Widya Wisata Graha Vocational School (WWG) Amlapura is one of the vocational schools in Karangasem Regency that prioritizes skills in the field of tourism. In addition, students get subjects related to tourism as the main support, students must be equipped with strong mental readiness to do a job. Mental readiness is very important because it is closely related to obligations and performance. Mental preparation is obtained through the provision of intensive training providing work motivation. Providing motivation is realized through community service carried out by the English Study Program, Bali Dwipa University on May 29, 2023. Work motivation is provided by dissecting the meaning of a text such as children's song text and the narrative text Pan Balang Tamak. The explanation of the meanings of the two texts is listened to carefully because the meanings of the texts are not understood in depth, but semantically based on the explicit meanings in the text. The implicit translation of the meaning of the text is very important as a guide for students in carrying out their obligations as students to achieve goals.

Abstract

Balinese ancestors cared very much to the generation to achieve harmony in social communities so the Balinese ancestors always embedded moral value through many kinds og genre. One of Balinese genres that is used to embed moral values is Balinese Narrative text entitled “I Pucung”. The text contains semiotic so this research would like to explore the ideology of text “I Pucung”. This is qualitative research, phenomenology. The data were taken from clauses of the text “I Pucung” from Satua-Satua Bali. The Theory used for this research is Systemic Functional Linguistics. The technique used in this research is comprehending the text carefully based on social context which is held by Balinese communities. The result of this research shows the text is associated with Sad Ripu ‘six bad traits owned by human’, namely; greedy, overbearing, confused, jealous, lust, and angry. Those traits make human life destroyed. This text teaches us how to avoid behaving Sad Ripu in communities. In contrast, performing good traits in communities leads us to get harmony. This research brings positive impacts for semiotics, discourse analysis, teaching. This research is expected to be able to stimulate other linguistic researchers to explore ideology for other Balinese text

Abstract

Background: Covid-19 is viewed as multimodality, it can be analyzed from many lives aspects point of view. This research analyzed Covid-19 health protocol from Systemic Functional Linguistics perspective. The data were taken in Denpasar from 2020 to 2021 in non-verbal language such as; using masker, using face shield, washing hand, working from home, and keeping distance. The theory used for this research is the theory of Systemic Functional Linguistics proposed by Halliday and Ruqaiya, related to social semiotic. In addition, there are two theories used to support the analysis, namely theory of sign proposed by Peirce and theory of maxim proposed by Grice.Methodology: The research employed qualitative research, phenomenology research. The researcher observed communities’ health protocols to find the data. The data were taken in Denpasar from 2020 to 2021 in connotative references by non-verbal language.Findings: The result of the research is presented in description. The research suggested that (i) Using masker is interpreted that we must control what we speak. What we speak must have correlation with Grice’s maxims theory. (ii) Using face shield is associated with thinking positively. We must think positively in every phenomenon. (iii) Washing hands means that we must use our hand based on the right function. (iv) Working from home is interpreted that we have to improve our selves through learning and studying. (v) Keeping distance is associated that we have to focus on what we want to achieve.Conclusion: The ideology of social behaviors represents that we have to follow the moral values embedded in such non-verbal language to get harmony. The findings of the texts are (i) the text belongs to motivation to get harmonies in the life, (ii) the text teaches us how to get success, and (iii) the reference of the signs is categorized rheme. The text is categorized as procedural text. Originality: The research is hoped to be able to give the meaning of health protocol performance by social semiotics approach.

Abstract

Maliboro merupakan objek wisata yang wajib dikunjungi oleh wisatawan ketika datang ke Yogyakarta. Hal tersebut membuat Pemerintah Daerah memunculkan berbagai upaya dalam menertibkan Kawasan Malioboro, terkhususnya ketika peak season atau musim berlibur. Upaya tersebut sudah tertuang pada Peraturan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Nomor 2 Tahun 2017 Tentang Ketentraman, Ketertiban Umum Dan Perlindungan Masyarakat. Berbagai kendala turut dihadapi oleh Pemerintah Daerah. Namun hal tersebut cukup teratasi dengan memberikan kegiatan pendidikan, sosialisasi, bimbingan teknis dan monitoring dan evaluasi. Sehingga masyarakat tidak terganggu dalam menjalankan aktifitas dan wisatawan juga dapat menikmati kegiatannya berlibur.

Abstract

Education at school is not enough just to teach students to read, write and count, then pass exams and later get a good job. However, schools must be able to educate students to be able to decide what is right and wrong. Education is carried out in schools with the hope of developing thinking abilities while forming good student character to achieve life goals in life. The aim of this service is to find solutions on how to instill character education through scout extracurricular activities and classroom learning for students at SMK PGRI 1 Badung. To achieve this goal, students must instill character-forming values ​​originating from religion, Pancasila and culture. The method used in this service is training and mentoring with three stages, namely the preparation stage, activity stage, and activity evaluation stage. The results of the implementation of scouting activities at SMK PGRI 1 Badung went well and this activity was attended by all students and scout leaders by paying attention to the basic principles and methods of scouting. The characters that emerge in the implementation of character education are discipline, caring for the environment, tolerance, communicative, religious, democratic, curious, self-confident, creative, independent, hard working, responsible, honest, socially concerned, and appreciate achievement. Likewise, education carried out at school can develop thinking abilities as well as shape students' good character to achieve life goals in life.

Abstract

Transformasi layanan kesehatan primer mencakup edukasi dan promosi kesehatan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat meningkatkan derajat kesehatan. Masalah kesehatan yang menjadi prioritas terkait anemia dan hipertensi pada kelompok ibu hamil, remaja serta lanjut usia, di samping perilaku berisiko. Tujuan utama pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk memberikan layanan nyata berupa transfer pengetahuan dan sikap kelompok sasaran untuk menatalaksana anemia dan hipertensi pada kelompok ibu hamil, lansia dan remaja, di samping edukasi bagi remaja untuk menghindari perilaku berisiko terutama merokok dan perilaku seks pranikah. Metode pengabdian dilakukan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan monitoring evaluasi serta pelaporan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan sejak Mei sampai Agustus 2024. Hasil yang diperoleh, bahwa kelompok sasaran yang dilibatkan adalah kelompok ibu hamil, ibu balita dan kader posyandu (n= 21 orang), remaja masjid (n=21 orang), serta kelompok lansia (n= 31 orang). Peran serta kelompok sasaran sangat positif, kegiatan oleh pengabdi berupa edukasi dan pelayanan kesehatan sederhana seperti pemeriksaan berat badan (BB), tinggi badan (TB), pemeriksaan lab sederhana (Hb, kolesterol, gula darah, asam urat). Pelayanan kesehatan khusus bagi kelompok lansia khusus dilaksanakan bersama-sama pemegang program Lansia dari Puskesmas Nusa Penida III yang mewilayahi Desa Kampung Toya Pakeh. Hasil pengamatan dan wawancara kepada kelompok sasaran mengakui jika kegiatan pengabdian sangat bermanfaat dan diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan secara teratur. Luaran yang dihasilkan berupa media edukasi (video, buku saku, poster, lembar balik), video kegiatan pengabdian, diseminasi kegiatan pada media massa koran Fajar Bali, HKI serta MoU.

Abstract

This research investigates the references which are realized by signs within the Masako package. The scope of this research is language in function, which is presented in both verbal and non-verbal languages. The theory used for this research is Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL), which is supported with the theory of semiotic for non-verbal language. The research implies qualitative research, and phenomenology. The data were taken from Masako package. The verbal language such as clauses are analyzed with theory of SFL proposed by Halliday, while nonverbal language such as; colours, pictures, photos are analysed with semiotic proposed by Peirce. The research results indicate that the Massako package hires nonverbal and verbal languages. The yellow colour indicates that Masako is very suitable for cooked food. The red indicates that the spice contains chilly, which is not good for baby food. The green indicates that the spice is very good with fresh meat and vegetables. The ideologies of Masako are; (i) the company of Masako wants to share the market with some segmentation by providing several taste and different weight in the packages, (ii) the company want to dominate the market by showing “Halal” so most of Indonesian communities are not in doubt about the material. This research is significant for semiotics, discourse analysis, and language teaching. This research is expected to be very useful for communities and to stimulate other researchers to do similar research.
