Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using Tamiya's game in improving the mathematical understanding of students with hearing impairment on time, distance and speed. The method used was Classroom Action Research using Tamiya games as learning media. The research was conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis and Taggart model which consists of 4 components, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. From the research conducted, it was found that in cycle I, there was a slight increase in learning outcomes where 25% of students passed and 75% did not graduate from the initial conditions, 100% of students passed the class with an average score of 53.75. In cycle II there was a significant change, 100% of students passed after making learning improvements from cycle I, an active learning situation emerged and an increase in learning outcomes. These results were obtained due to an increase in the involvement of teachers and students in learning. The use of Tamiya games as a concrete learning medium by involving students in direct experience could help the limitations of deaf children in receiving information and abstraction power that cause obstacles to knowledge achievement. The impact of this study shows that the use of the Tamiya game as a concrete learning medium could improve the mathematical understanding of the topic of time, distance and speed towards fifth grade students with hearing impairment.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to demonstrate an easy way along with a step-by-step process in searching references as well as to show the technique of writing referencing style to make the manuscript fit for publication in journals. The study method was carried out in many steps with using the Google Scholar search engine, included search for articles in a journal, obtaining citations from author, and constructing a reference style. As a practical example, we will look for articles about engineering education with used IJoST, JESTEC, JEET, and IJCSNE journals, and there are several style references such as, APA, MLA, Vancouver, Harvard, Chicago/Turabian, and IEEE style. We identified that Google Scholar may be utilized as a teaching resource and beginner authors who are learning how to create articles.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate and analyse the results of mathematics learning about the concept of multiplication in students with hearing impairment. In this study, the team-games-tournament (TGT) method was used to teach the concept of multiplication to seven students with hearing impairment in an elementary school at the Special School in Cimahi through four stages of learning, namely: 1) pretest presentation, 2) learning presentation with the TGT method, and 3) posttest presentation. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in the ability to learn multiplication concepts using the TGT method. Therefore, the TGT method could be a suitable choice of learning method used in learning the multiplication concept for students with hearing impairment because, through the TGT method, students collaborate and teach each other in-game activities, that make the students understand the concept of multiplication easier, thus improve students' ability to learn the concept of multiplication. This research is important because it provides information about the use of new and unique media or learning methods that can be used to improve students' abilities, especially students with hearing impairments in the mathematics learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is whether online math games can be one of the basic arithmetic lessons during the online learning process during the Covid-19 Pandemic. To support the research, we use an experimental research method, which is to try out a lesson using an online math game application to 10 4th grade elementary school students for 2 days. While the approach used in this study is quantitative. The results show that there are still many students who are not fluent in working on basic arithmetic problems before playing math online games. So that learning through online math games is very helpful for students in improving their numeracy skills. This is because as long as students play the game, students can continue to hone their numeracy skills. Thus, the student who gets a final score of more than 70 at the time of the post-test increase to 50% compared to the time of the pre-test which is only 40%. Therefore, it is clear that online math games can be a method of learning basic arithmetic to improve students' numeracy and literacy levels.

Abstract

The development of education and economic circulation has an important role in encouraging economic growth based on community empowerment amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this research is to see and develop education and economic circulation in supporting local potential as an effort to empower the community amid the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a type of descriptive research with a combined research method approach. We also used methods in the process of developing the local potential of the economic community through human literacy and digital literacy to encourage the development of social media in communicating as an effort to prevent and handle Covid-19.  The importance of education can be found, such as digital literacy and human literacy to be able to improve information literacy skills in the field of economics. The subjects of this study were businesses from the community as well as institutions in the UP2K (Family Income Improvement Effort) program. The results of this study showed that the Real Work Lecture program in the community can improve community interaction to carry out empowerment monitoring in the development of local potential as a recovery in the economic field.

Abstract

The government's policy towards the education sector during the pandemic by imposing Distance Learning is still experiencing many obstacles. Many students have difficulty understanding the concept of monotonous lessons and learning so that students become bored and lose interest in learning. This study aims to see the application of learning videos and Quizzes in increasing students' interest in learning English in the 9th graders. During the learning activities, students first listened to the learning video, then after understanding the material in the video, students were asked to work on practice questions on Quizizz. This study used qualitative descriptive research, with the research subject being the 9th graders. The instrument used is a test instrument in the form of a quiz on the Quizizz application which consists of 15 questions, and interviews as a reference to determine students' understanding and learning interest in the use of learning videos and Quizizz applications. The results showed that the use of learning media using audio-visual media was quite effective in increasing students' interest in learning and understanding English subjects. Because students better understand the material in the form of videos, and also this Quizizz media is not only easy to use but also fun like playing a game. So that students do not feel burdened with assignments. Interactive and fun learning has an impact on increasing student interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of COVID-19 on the reading interest of elementary school students. By using data collection through a google form. COVID-19 turns out not to create students ' interest in reading to decrease. After a given material was directly distributed, it raises students ' interest in reading. By providing the material in individuals then the presentation of the rose to 44.4%. The presentation rise students’ interest in reading. This happens because there is little research regarding the reading interest of 4th-grade elementary school students. The rising reading interest will bring up students’ interest. COVID-19 does not become a barrier to the students to keep reading.
