Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of comic-based media in enhancing Arabic language learning among fifth-grade students at MIN 3 Pringsewu. The findings reveal that comic media is an effective tool for improving students’ learning outcomes in Arabic. This is evidenced by the calculated N-Gain score, where the experimental class achieved an average of 61.43, categorized as moderate, while the control class obtained an average Gain Score of 16.49, categorized as low. These results indicate that the development of comic-based instructional media is effective for classroom implementation. Furthermore, the effectiveness of using comics is reflected in the improvement of students’ pretest and posttest scores. The pretest average score of students in the experimental class prior to using thematic comics was 57.87, which increased to 78.51 after implementation. In comparison, the control class scored 55.57 in the pretest and 61.92 in the posttest. The statistical analysis shows that the posttest data between the two groups yielded a t-value significance of 0.000, indicating a significant difference since Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 and the t-value was positive, leading to the rejection of H0. All of these data substantiate the conclusion that comic-based media effectively enhances Arabic language learning for fifth-grade students at MIN 3 Pringsewu. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive impact of using comics as an instructional medium on students’ learning achievement in Arabic.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop, test the feasibility, determine the attractiveness, and determine the effectiveness of digital comic media for learning Arabic reading skills for the fifth-grade elementary school students. This was a research and development study using the ADDIE model which consisted of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data collection techniques deployed interviews, observations, documentation, and tests. The instruments were the questionnaires for validation of material experts, media experts, and linguists, and the questionnaire for students' responses to the attractiveness of the products developed. The digital comic media was classified as very feasible to be used in learning Arabic. The foregoing was evidenced by the score of feasibility test results from 2 material experts of 95% or in the very feasible category. The result of the feasibility test by 2 media experts demonstrated a score of 96% or in the very feasible category. The result of the feasibility test by linguists with a score of 76% fell into the feasible category. This digital comic media was interesting to use in learning Arabic. It was evidenced by the results of students' responses with a score of 85.57% or very interesting in the medium group trial and 85.16% or very interesting in the large group trial. This digital comic media had been proven to be able to increase students’ scores. Students’ scores increased by 32.30 with an average score of 55.65 before using the media and 88.00 after using digital comic media. The foregoing showed that the Arabic digital comic media developed by the researchers was an interesting and effective media to be used as learning media.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the inconsistencies of machine translation from the perspective of students who use web-based Google Translate in their Arabic thesis. This research has an impact on translation machine users from Arabic teachers and researchers to be more careful in using Google Translate when translating from Bahasa to Arabic, especially in inconsistent aspects. The researcher used a mixed method with an Explanatory Sequential Design‎ because after distributing questionnaires in collecting quantitative data to collect patterns of inconsistencies that occurred, it was important to explain the initial findings from the quantitative data qualitatively through interviews. ‎Quantitative data is analyzed using simple percentage statistics, then qualitative data is analyzed through four steps, namely data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research found that inconsistencies in web-based Google Translate translation results were found in four patterns. First, Google Translate is very inconsistent in translating terms that have the same meaning (mutarodifat), but the terms that appear in the translation results are often different, even within the same paragraph. Second, inconsistencies very often also occur in the aspects of mufrad, mutsanna and jamak, the Google translation machine cannot differentiate between the singularity and plurality aspects of the object being translated, so translation errors often occur where a singular word that should be translated as mufrad will instead become plural or on the contrary. Third, the translation machine does not recognize the gender of the subject in the translated sentence, so translation inconsistencies in the mudzakkar and mu'annats aspects occur very often. Inconsistencies in the gender aspect, as well as the mufrad, mutsanna, and jamak aspects, have an impact on the fourth error pattern, namely grammatical inconsistencies, namely errors in using the verb (fi'il) in a sentence. Of the four patterns of inconsistency, the term inconsistency is a new thing that has not been revealed much. The grammatical aspect is closely related to aspects of the singular or plural form as well as the masculine or feminine form which is the subject of the translated sentence and needs to be discussed further by other researchers.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dilakukan melalui kerjasama antara mahasiswa KKN UIN Raden Intan Lampung dengan SDN 1 Punduh Pedada sebagai upaya untuk memberikan edukasi kepada anak-anak tentang pentingnya kebersihan diri dan hidup sehat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) serta pentingnya menjaga kesehatan diri dan lingkungan sekitar. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan di SDN 1 Punduh Pedada, Kabupaten Pesawaran, dengan partisipasi 115 siswa dari berbagai tingkat kelas. Materi penyuluhan disajikan secara singkat dan jelas agar mudah dipahami oleh siswa. Sebelum dan setelah penyuluhan, dilakukan evaluasi dengan pretest dan post-test untuk menilai peningkatan pemahaman siswa. Hasil post-test menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa terkait praktik PHBS. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat membantu siswa untuk menerapkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dalam kehidupan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the significant effect of the use of audiovisual media based on the Canva application on the learning outcomes of Arabic language class VIII students at MTs Al-Muhajirin Panjang. The background of this study is the importance of using interesting learning media to increase student motivation and understanding. The method used is quantitative with a Quasi-Experimental design, namely pretest-posttest control group design. The research population involved two classes, class 8.1 as the experimental group and 8.2 as the control group, with data collection using validated tests and analysed using SPSS 25. The results showed that the mean score of students in the experimental group (81.40) was higher than the control group (77.20), and the t-test results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the use of audiovisual media based on the Canva application has a positive effect on students' Arabic learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth comparison of the orientation and focus of the Arabic Language Curriculum during the New Order and Reform eras, and to identify the implications of this paradigm shift. This study is a qualitative descriptive research that applies a historical study and library research approach, where data is collected through documentation and relevant curriculum literature. The gathered data is analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing stages.The results of this comparison reveal a fundamental difference in the curricular orientation between the two eras. The Arabic language curriculum during the New Order period (including the 1968, 1975, 1984, and 1994 curricula) was essentially focused on the theological-scientific aspect, or utilizing it as a receptive tool for understanding religious texts (the Qur'an and Hadith), with a primary emphasis on grammatical elements (nahwu-sharaf) through a partial approach. Conversely, the curriculum during the Reform era (covering the 2004 KBK, 2006 KTSP, 2013 K13, up to the current Independence Curriculum) reflects a sharp shift in focus to become more sociological-communicative and competency-based. The curriculum in this era demands mastery of comprehensive language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and aims functionally to meet the communication demands of the global society. This shift indicates that the Reform curriculum is more adaptive and provides greater room for the development of students' productive skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Arab siswa kelas IV MIT Muhammadiyah Sukarame melalui implementasi media pembelajaran interaktif Educaplay. Masalah penelitian berangkat dari rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang ditunjukkan oleh banyaknya siswa yang belum mencapai KKM serta kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 27 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen utama berupa tes objektif untuk mengukur pencapaian hasil belajar setelah penerapan media Educaplay. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar pada setiap siklus. Nilai rata-rata awal siswa adalah 69,25 dengan ketuntasan 40,74%. Setelah tindakan pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 79,07 dengan ketuntasan 66,66%. Pada siklus II, nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 86,29 dan ketuntasan mencapai 92,59%, melampaui indikator keberhasilan 80%. Selain peningkatan nilai, aktivitas dan keterlibatan siswa selama pembelajaran juga meningkat seiring dengan penggunaan permainan interaktif yang disediakan dalam Educaplay. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif Educaplay efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar Bahasa Arab siswa, sekaligus mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih aktif dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Bahasa Arab memiliki posisi penting dalam pendidikan Islam karena berfungsi sebagai kunci utama memahami Al-Qur’an dan As-Sunnah. Namun, pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Madrasah Aliyah sering menghadapi kendala kognitif, afektif, dan sosial yang berdampak pada perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perbedaan motivasi belajar bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas X MA Al-Hikmah Bandar Lampung serta menganalisisnya dalam perspektif psikolinguistik dan Teori Harapan (Expectancy Theory) Vroom. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan motivasi belajar antar siswa yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal seperti minat, kepercayaan diri, kecemasan berbahasa, serta faktor eksternal seperti peran guru, lingkungan teman sebaya, sarana pembelajaran, dan latar belakang pendidikan. Variasi motivasi antar kelas di mana kelas C memiliki motivasi tinggi, kelas B sedang, dan kelas A rendah juga berkaitan erat dengan komponen expectancy, instrumentality, dan valence dalam teori Vroom. Temuan ini memperlihatkan bahwa keberhasilan belajar bahasa Arab tidak hanya ditentukan kemampuan linguistik, tetapi juga faktor psikolinguistik yang membentuk kesiapan mental dan persepsi manfaat siswa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoritis dan praktis dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif dan humanis untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar bahasa Arab.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of Arabic–Indonesian translation generated by DeepSeek AI using the book Al-‘Arabiyyah li al-Nāsyi’īn as the object of study. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a content analysis design. The data source consists of Arabic narrative texts taken from Al-‘Arabiyyah li al-Nāsyi’īn Volume 1, which were translated into Indonesian using DeepSeek AI. Data collection techniques include observation and note-taking, while data analysis follows three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analysis is based on Peter Newmark’s semantic translation theory. The findings indicate that DeepSeek AI is generally capable of producing accurate, clear, and acceptable translations. The translated texts successfully convey the main meaning of the source language with minimal ambiguity and distortion. DeepSeek AI demonstrates a tendency toward semantic translation by adjusting sentence structure, diction, and contextual meaning to improve readability and naturalness in the target language. Although some literal translations are still found, they do not significantly affect overall comprehension. Therefore, DeepSeek AI can be considered an effective supporting tool for Arabic–Indonesian translation, particularly for simple narrative texts and Arabic language learning
