Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility level of the Wood Work Construction Workshop of the Civil Engineering Department of FT UNP based on the standards of Permendiknas number 40 of 2008, SNI 03-6575-2001, and ISO 9001: 2008. This research approach uses descriptive qualitative research methods and uses a policy evaluation model. The object of this research is the wood working construction workshop. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, direct measurement and documentation. The research instrument used a checklist that was used during direct measurement. The technique of obtaining data uses a roller meter, lux meter, sound level meter, thermometer and anemometer. The results of this study are the workshop area according to the standard, the area of hand wood working area according to the standard, the area of wood machinery according to the standard, the area of storage and technician areas according to the standard, the lighting level of the wood workshop in the morning according to the standard, at noon according to the standard, and in the afternoon not according to the standard, workshop natural ventilation air circulation for air temperature in the morning is up to standard, in the afternoon and evening is not up to standard, air humidity in the morning and afternoon is up to standard, in the afternoon is not up to standard, air velocity in the morning and afternoon is not up to standard, in the afternoon is up to standard, sound and noise are up to standard, room temperature in the morning is up to standard, The number of students is according to the standard, the number of technicians is not according to the standard, the implementation of workshop practice is according to the standard, the color of the room is according to the standard, the wood workshop practice equipment for hand tools is according to the standard, the working station tool of the type of tool consists of 4 types not according to the standard and 8 types are according to the standard, Workshop facilities for furniture are according to the standard, educational media are according to the standard, fire protection equipment is not according to the standard, first aid kits are according to the standard, personal protective equipment is not according to the standard, workshop support equipment for electrical contact boxes are according to the standard, trash cans are not according to the standard, information data boards are according to the standard, vacuum is not according to the standard.

Abstract

Various learning models have been developed and implemented in vocational education in the engineering field, but still have weaknesses, especially in basic matters such as one-sided learning and lack of direct industrial involvement. Moreover, learning in educational institutions is not supported by facilities that match those in the industry, but only simulation tools. Additionally, the media used in educational institutions is not as sophisticated as that used in the industry. This study is a literature review on Work-based Learning (WBL) and the formulation of WBL concepts suitable for vocational education in the engineering field. The results of the literature review showed that the implementation of WBL in various developing and advanced countries is very effective in developing students' competencies. Educational institutions and industries work together to improve the quality of learning to produce job-ready graduates. Industries benefit from the availability of competent and professional workforce who can develop their business for global competition. There are three WBL model concepts that can be applied to vocational education in the engineering field, including integrated student work, teaching factory, and industrial internship. The formation of student competencies can be carried out through a structured program, where students will gain experience and opportunities to gradually sharpen their competencies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Estimasi Biaya Konstruksi di SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan metode campuran, yaitu gabungan antara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan 60 siswa kelas XI jurusan Desain Pemodelan Informasi Bangunan (DPIB) dan Teknik Konstruksi dan Properti (TKP). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor dominan yang menyebabkan kesulitan belajar adalah motivasi belajar siswa, yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemahaman materi Estimasi Biaya Konstruksi, seperti perhitungan volume pekerjaan dan analisis harga satuan. Selain itu, faktor eksternal seperti lingkungan sekolah dan keluarga juga turut mempengaruhi. Dengan menggunakan analisis faktor, ditemukan enam faktor utama yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa, yaitu motivasi belajar, lingkungan sekolah, intelegensi, lingkungan keluarga, minat belajar, dan lingkungan tempat tinggal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan agar guru dapat mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan minat belajar siswa, serta menciptakan suasana yang lebih mendukung dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam perbaikan proses pembelajaran Estimasi Biaya Konstruksi di SMK.

Abstract

Civil servant teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh face challenges in applying Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) self-directed training results to classroom practices. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the PMM self-directed training program using the Kirkpatrick evaluation model. An evaluative research design was employed involving 20 civil servant teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, observations, tests, and documentation, then analyzed using SPSS Statistics Version 29 for descriptive and inferential statistics (paired t-test, effect size), and thematic analysis. Results demonstrated program effectiveness across all four Kirkpatrick levels. At the reaction level, teachers showed high satisfaction (M = 3.65-4.20). The learning level revealed significant competency improvements with paired t-test results (t = -24.367, p < 0.001) and exceptionally large effect size (Cohen's d = -5.449). At the behavior level, positive teaching behavior changes emerged (M = 3.85-4.00) across four competency dimensions. The results level identified transformative impacts including improved student learning outcomes, innovative methodologies (flipped classroom, gamification), efficient resource utilization, and optimized curriculum achievement. In conclusion, the PMM self-directed training program effectively improved teacher competency and transformed teaching practices at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh.

Abstract

Balai Adat Kenagarian di Desa Pangian, Kecamatan Lintau Buo, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Sumatera Barat, merupakan pusat aktivitas budaya sekaligus ikon desa. Namun, fasilitas sanitasi di lokasi ini belum memadai karena tidak tersedia septick tank dan bak resapan, sehingga saat acara adat berlangsung, pengunjung harus menempuh jarak sekitar 500-meter ke masjid terdekat untuk menggunakan kamar mandi. Kondisi serupa juga ditemukan di banyak rumah warga yang belum memiliki instalasi sanitasi sesuai SNI 2398:2017. Menanggapi situasi tersebut, Tim Pengabdian Program Studi Teknik Bangunan Universitas Negeri Padang melaksanakan penyuluhan dan pembangunan sarana sanitasi yang layak. Kegiatan ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat serta mendukung pengembangan wisata berbasis budaya. Dampak yang diharapkan meliputi terciptanya lingkungan bersih, kenyamanan pengunjung, dan peningkatan daya tarik wisata desa.

Abstract

 Limbah plastik merupakan permasalahan lingkungan yang signifikan di Indonesia, khususnya di Nagari Batu Basa, yang menghadapi tantangan besar dalam pengelolaan sampah plastik akibat terbatasnya fasilitas dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami penerapan metode Ecobrick dalam mengelola limbah plastik, mengevaluasi peran serta masyarakat dalam pemanfaatannya, serta menganalisis dampak sosial dan lingkungan dari metode tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif untuk menggali fenomena secara mendalam dan kontekstual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program Ecobrick berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi dan kesadaran ekologis masyarakat, khususnya anak-anak dan remaja, meskipun keterbatasan waktu dan fasilitas menjadi kendala bagi warga dewasa. Program ini juga memberikan dampak positif berupa peningkatan kebersihan lingkungan dan mengurangi pencemaran plastik. Kesimpulannya, metode Ecobrick berpotensi menjadi solusi inovatif dan berkelanjutan dalam pengelolaan limbah plastik berbasis komunitas yang dapat memperkuat kesadaran ekologis serta pelestarian lingkungan di Nagari Batu Basa.
