Abstract

One area of agribusiness that has good prospects for development is the cultivation of papaya farming Bangkok, because the market demand is still huge, rapid investment payback period, the price is relatively stable, and continuous harvest throughout the year. The market opportunity is still wide open, because the supply is currently still lacking. Located in the Village Prangkoan, Mertoyudan District, Magelang regency, Central Java. The purpose of this study was to (1) analyze the feasibility of Papaya Bangkok cultivation with his own land and rent system, (2) business feasibility analysis Papaya Bangkok cultivation with leased land and the cultivation of papaya integration model of Bangkok's most profitable for entrepreneurs to raise Papaya Bangkok cultivation. Quantitative analysis carried out to analyze the feasibility of the financial aspects using the criteria of NPV, IRR, Gross benefit and Cost Ratio, Sensitifitas, and BEP analysis. NPV value of aquaculture in their own land is higher at Rp103,793,371.93, while cultivating the land lease Rp60,069,785.97. This shows that the net benefits received from cultivation in their own land is greater than in the land lease. Judging from the value of Gross IRR and B/C, indicating that the value of Gross IRR and B/C for all the cultivation is > 0, so that both are good at cultivating their own land or on leased land eligible to run. When viewed from the BEP, the BEP for the cultivation of the land it self is 1548 units and Rp6,190,661, while for the cultivation of the land rent is 6972 units and Rp10,457,406.67. Comparison of financial feasibility between the two tampat cultivation shows that of both types of businesses, the cultivation of the land itself is a more viable business cultivated. It can be seen from the financial eligibility criteria of the cultivation the land itself has a better value

Abstract

Two experiments were carried out to study the use of rice straw as the sole source of roughage in ration for cattle fattening. In each experiment 16 heads of young bulls, Frisian Holstein (FH), and Australian Commercial Cross (ACC). were arranged in completely randomized design with 4 different roughages as treatment criteria: (i) elephant grass as control, (ii) unprocessed rice straw, (iii) urea treated rice straw, (iv) CaO traated rice straw. No significant difference in weight gain among treatments in both experiments exist. In the firrst experiment the average daily gain (ADG) for treatment 1, 2, 3 and 4 was respectivelly 0.75, 0.78, 0.89, and 0.78 kg, while in the second experiment the ADG was respectively 0.51, 0.48, 0.71, and 0.62 kg per head per day. On the average the FH bulls performed superior gain of 0.80 kg/head/day while the ACC is moderate (0.58 kg/had/day). In the first experiment no significant difference in dry matter consumption among treatments obtained. In the second experiment the dry matter consumption of elephant grass was lower compared to strawmix. FH bulls show higher consumption of dry matter (3.1% of live weight), while the value of ACC bulls is only 2.5% live weight.  Feed efficiency is not statistically different among treatment in both experiments, namely 9.1, 8.0, 7.4 and 8.4 kg dry matter/kg ADG in the first experiment, and 13.9, 19.6, 11.8, and 14.8 dry matter/kg ADG in the second experiment. FH bulls show higher efficiency of 8.2% while ACC bulls is only 15.0%.

Abstract

Farming model of the crop livestock system in the paddy field is located at Cianjur Distric.  The crop livestock system is an effort to increase rice production that be integrated with livestock.  The purpose of the assessment was to find out the role of cattle on the farmer income through the integrated farming system based on the technology innovations on Cianjur district.  The integration pattern was the utilization of plant straws as feed and manure for fertilizer.  Integrated farming system that has been introduced are paddy planting, livestock fattening, and paddy straw fermentation  for food and also ecreement of livestock for organic fertilizer processing.  The assessment involved livestock and 5 ha paddy planting area.  The farmer consist of 2 groups ie.: 20 cooperator group (integrated system), and 10 control (non integrated).  The assessment results showed that rice yield was 5.34 tons/ha of dried ground rice, an increase of 16.09% compared to those yielded by other farmers.  The use of inorganic fertilizer decreased urea to 100 kg/ha (N 71.43%), SP-36 50 kg/ha (50%), KCl 50 kg/ha (50%).  The average of daily weight gain was 0.89 kg/cattle daily.  The income of farmers with the integrated farming system was Rp 9,417,907 for ones hectare land and 2 beef cattle with R/C ratio of 1.27. The average organic fertilizer yielded was 5 kg/cattle daily, the rice straw yielded was 13.20 tons/ha/year.  The C/N ratio of composted feces was 19.03%.  Total income from paddy (5 ha) and livestock (20 heads) integrated farming system about Rp 24,867,500 and Rp 60,675,333/season and provide R/C value about 1.44, meanwhile R/C value of non integrated farming system about 1.33.  It means, paddy and livestock integrated farming system could increase farmer’s income about 69,45% per season compared to non integrated farming.   Key words: integration, paddy, livestock, fermentation
