Abstract

Purpose -This study examines the Sekaten ceremony at the Kasunanan Palace in Surakarta and Yogyakarta as a reflection of Javanese-Islamic civilization. It aims to analyze the religious significance of this tradition in commemorating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW and the Islamic New Year. Design/Methodology/Approach -  A qualitative approach was used, combining traditional methods like observation, interviews, and documentation with modern digital ethnography, including the analysis of videos and TikTok content. Findings - The research shows that Sekaten bridges 16th-century Javanese roots with deep Islamic values. While aesthetic elements like Gamelan Guntur Madu and Guntur Sari remain central, the use of agricultural products, such as tumpeng and jodhang to symbolizes communal gratitude for a prosperous life. These rituals function as a reflection of faith, allowing the Javanese community to unite in a religious and cultural celebration. Originality/Value - This article highlights the resilience of ancient traditions in the digital age. By integrating modern social media platforms like TikTok into the study of a centuries-old ritual, it provides a unique perspective on how Islamic civilization maintains its meaning amidst globalization.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the influence of cultural arts performances on the character education of the younger generation. Design/Methodology/Approach – The research employs a qualitative approach, focusing on performances by various art groups, including karawitan, Javanese poetry (gurit jawa), Indonesian poetry, wayang padat (concise puppet shows), and dance. Data were gathered from primary and secondary sources through in-depth interviews, literature reviews, photographic documentation, and observations of digital content on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok. Findings – The results indicate that cultural arts performances have a positive and significant impact on character education. Through performance themes such as "Sungkem Pertiwi," these artistic showcases serve as a platform for the nation's youth to contribute while instilling moral values, such as respect for parents and elders, and the philosophy of "humanizing human beings" (memanusiakan manusia). The sequence of artistic works cohesively provides character lessons encompassing aspects of tolerance, responsibility, and cooperation. Originality/Value –This research offers a unique contribution by examining the intersection of cultural art performances and character education, focusing on specific art forms such as karawitan, Javanese poetry, wayang padat, and traditional dance, which are often overlooked in contemporary educational discourse.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan upaya yang dilakukan dalam meningkatkan literasi numerasi guna mendukung peningkatan kemampuan matematika siswa di SDS 021 Papuyu III, Kalimantan Tengah. Literasi numerasi merupakan kemampuan dasar yang esensial dalam memahami, menafsirkan, dan menggunakan konsep serta prosedur matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, yang melibatkan observasi, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, serta analisis dokumen pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan literasi numerasi dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi matematika dan kemampuan mereka dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Selain itu, literasi numerasi juga berkontribusi pada peningkatan motivasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam belajar matematika. Dengan demikian, pengembangan literasi numerasi di SD 021 Papuyu III Sai Pudak, Kecamatan Kahayan Kuala, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, provinsi Kalimantan Tengah terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan matematika siswa dan memberikan dampak positif pada proses pembelajaran di sekolah tersebut.
