Abstract

Salah satu bagian dari Tri Dharma perguruan tinggi merupakan pengabdian masyarakat yang dalam pelaksanaanya menyertakan dua dharma lainya, serta melibatkan seluruh sivitas akademika yaitu dosen, mahasiswa, tenaga kependidikan serta alumni. Pendidikan lingkungan hidup merupakan salah satu mata kuliah wajib di Jurusan Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Musamus Merauke. Pantai Payum merupakan salah satu pantai yang terletak di kecamatan Merauke, Kabupaten Merauke, Papua Selatan. Keberadaanya sampah masih banyak ditemukan disekitar tepian pantai Payum. Wawancara dengan Kepala Kelurahan Samkai, didapatkan informasi bahwa masih adanya sampah yang berserakan di sekitar tepi pantai Payum yang salah satunya berasal dari limbah rumah tangga. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa Aksi bersih pantai payum dapat mengurangi sampah-sampah yang ada di pantai payum. Akan tetapi dikarenakan sampah yang terdapat pada pantai payum bukan hanya dari masyarakat sekitar pantai, sampah yang terbawa oleh ombak dan tertinggal ditepian pantai yang merupakan salah satu sumber sampah lainya.

Abstract

STEM merupakan salah satu jenis pendekatan yang menggabungkan sains, teknologi, teknik dan matematika dalam kegiatan belajar siswa. Telah dilakukan survey kepada guru IPA SMP Muhammadiyah Kartosentanan sudah mengetahui apa itu pendekatan STEM akan tetapi masuh kesulitan dalam pengaplikasianya dalam PBM. Pendampingan yang telah dilakukan terdadap kepada guru IPA sebagai berikut: 1) mengadakan FGD pada guru IPA, 2) mengadakan BIMTEK mengenai STEM, 3) mengembangkan RPP berbasis STEM, 4) mengevaluasi, 5) melakukan revisi RPP yang telah dikembangkan oleh guru. Beberapa guru telah mampu mengembangkan RPP dengan kategori sangat baik sebesar 67% dan 33% lainya masuk dalam kategori baik. Hasil pengembangan RPP yang telah dilakukan dapat dijadikan prototype dalam pembelajaran STEM

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA merupakan Pembelajaran yang abstrak sehingga menjadikan siswa mengalami kesulitan untuk memahami konsep IPA. Penguasaan konsep sangat penting bagi siswa, dikarenakan penguasaan konsep menjadi kunci utama bagi siswa untuk dapat mentransfer apa yang dia pelajari di dalam kelas pada situasi. Selain itu penguasaan konsep membantu siswa dalam menggunakan konsep yang benar dan tepat untuk memecahkan suatu permasalahan. fokus penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media simulasi Phet mampu meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) telah dilakukan pada Bulan Maret-April tahun 2020 di MTSS Darul Hikmah Tawangsari Tulungagung. Pada penelitian terdapat tiga kegiatan yaitu, perencanaan (plan), tindakan dan observasi (Do), Refleksi (See). Teknis analisis data berupa deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian nenunjukan perubahan yang positif. Pembelajaran ini rata-rata pada siklus I berkaitan dengan keaktifan sebesar 67.55556 yang masuk dalam kategori cukup aktif dan dalam siklus II menjadi 78.66667 yang masuk dalam kategori aktif. Data penguasaan konsep menunjukan mengalami kenaikan rata – rata penguasaan konsep sebesar 77.33 pada siklus I menjadi 84.22 pada siklus II. Guru juga menunjukan keaktifan pada siklus II sehingga pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) tebih terlihat pada siklus ini.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to create a Problem Based Learning approach integrated with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), especially in the field of Physics. The goal is to improve students' creative thinking skills in learning about temperature and heat. The resulting Student Worksheets will be designed to be valid, practical, and effective. This study involves research and development activities using a 4-D model consisting of the stages of definition, design, development, and dissemination. This research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Kartosentanan in the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection was carried out through the use of validation sheets, student questionnaires, and test devices. Furthermore, data was collected using the N-Gain formula. PBL-STEM-based student worksheets were considered valid by the media validator with an agreement of 96%, the material validator 89%, and the instrument validator 95%. The feasibility analysis shows that the PBL-STEM-based student worksheets produced are very practical for students to use, as evidenced by the N-Gain results of 0.92 with a high category. This study concludes that the student worksheets developed based on PBL-STEM are valid, practical, and useful in improving students' creative thinking skills

Abstract

Similar things have also been done to support the implementation of the previous curriculum, namely the School Unit Level Curriculum and the 2023 Curriculum. This study aims to compare the quality of physics textbooks recognized by the Government in the 2013 Curriculum and the Independent Curriculum. The textbooks used as samples in this study are the 11th grade physics textbooks based on the 2013 Curriculum written by Sunardi, Paramitha Retno P., and Andreas B. Dermawan in 2016 published by Yrama Widya and the physics textbooks based on the Independent Curriculum written by Marianna Magdalena Radjawane, Alvius Tinambunan and, Suntar Jono in 2022 published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This study uses a qualitative research approach, through literature studies. Data collection was carried out by tracing various library sources related to physics teaching materials for class XI semester I. Data processing was carried out using a comparative descriptive method which includes the method of presenting material, depth of material, novelty of content and evaluation instruments. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the physics textbook for class XI of the 2013 curriculum had better quality compared to the physics textbook for class XI of the Merdeka Curriculum both in terms of indicators of material presentation, depth of material, novelty of content and evaluation instruments.

Abstract

Advancements in science and innovation influence the progress of education in Indonesia. The current situation in Indonesia is characterized by a lack of competent human resources (HR). Quality education helps students develop the values they need for life. The purpose of this research is to describe students' problem-solving abilities so that the implementation of the STEM-based Microlearning approach can yield optimal results. The research will be conducted in the eighth-grade class of Ibn Sina Islamic Middle School. A quantitative descriptive approach is used in this research. A set of 10 problem-solving based descriptive questions is the instrument used in this research. The instrument to be used has been validated. The expert validation results for the questions yielded an average score of 95.33. Data analysis results show that students' problem-solving abilities on the "useful description" indicator obtained an average score of 64%, which can be interpreted as falling into the "good" category. On the "physics approach" indicator, an average score of 64% was obtained, also interpreted as "good." On the "specific application of physics" indicator, an average score of 64% was obtained, which falls into the "good" category. Similarly, on the "mathematical procedures" indicator, the average score obtained by students was 60%, categorized as "satisfactory." Additionally, on the "logical progression" indicator, students obtained an average score of 60%, which can be interpreted as "satisfactory." The research results are used as a reference for further research to improve students' problem solving abilities by developing learning media technology or learning models.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify learner errors in problem-solving within the mathematics course, particularly in the subtopic of integration, based on Newman's Error Analysis (NEA). The subjects of this research were 14 first-year learners from the Physics Education Department at Musamus University, Merauke. The research method employed in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The instruments used in this research were tests and interviews. The test questions were used to measure the errors made by learners according to Newman's framework. Furthermore, four subjects were selected as participants for interviews to analyze the difficulties encountered while solving problems that led to learner errors. The results of this study revealed the presence of comprehension errors, transformation errors, process errors, and encoding errors when learners solved problems related to the subtopic of integration

Abstract

This study explores enhancing students' critical thinking skills by applying a STEM-centered problem-based learning (PBL-STEM) model. It evaluates students’ responses to this pedagogical approach. A quasi-experimental design with a static group pretest-posttest framework was employed, involving secondary school students from Merauke City. The instrument used for data collection was a Critical Thinking Ability Test, which included 10 essay questions covering six subtopics related to temperature and heat and incorporated five indicators of critical thinking. The test's reliability, as measured by Cronbach's alpha, was 0.739. Additionally, student responses to the PBL-STEM method were gathered through questionnaires. Data were analyzed both descriptively and inferentially. The results indicated that implementing PBL-STEM was effective, significantly improving students' critical thinking skills, with an N-gain of 0.824, classified as high. Furthermore, the significance test revealed that the enhancement in critical thinking through PBL-STEM was greater than that achieved through traditional PBL methods.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi literasi sains berbasis PBL bagi siswa, melalui pendampingan yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Merauke, diikuti 60 orang siswa dan 1 orang guru fisika. Metode yang digunakan pendampingan dalam kelompok, yang terdiri atas 10 kelompok yang terdiri atas 6 orang siswa. Tim pendamping terdiri atas dosen dan mahasiswa pendidikan fisika yang berasal dari Universitas Musamus. Secara garis besar, kegiatan terdiri atas; persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan monev. Persiapan dilaksanakan untuk melengkapi keperluan pelaksanaan, seperti perizinan secara administrasi, dan pembagian tim pendamping. Pelaksanaan, terdiri atas proses pendampingan yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan sintaks pada PBL, yaitu: orientasi kepada masalah, mengelompokan siswa, pembimbingan, demonstrasi, dan evaluasi. Topik yang digunakan yaitu alat-alat ukur, melalui penggunaan jangka sorong, mikrometer sekrup, dan neraca. Pada bagian akhir kegiatan dilaksanakan monitoring dan evaluasi. Monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan untuk melihat respon siswa dan guru terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan. Dilakukan melalui wawancara, hasilnya mendapatkan respon sangat positif, yang diharapkan nantinya akan ada keberlanjutan kegiatan lagi.

Abstract

This study endeavors to systematically discern the spectrum of learner errors manifesting in problem-solving processes within the domain of mathematics, specifically focusing on the intricacies of integration, utilizing Newman Error Analysis (NEA) as the guiding framework. The cohort under investigation comprises 14 first-year students hailing from the Department of Physics Education at Musamus University, Merauke. Employing a descriptive methodology underscored by a qualitative orientation, this research incorporates tests and interviews as primary instruments for data collection. The tests are designed to meticulously evaluate the array of errors committed by learners, as per the tenets of Newman’s model. Additionally, a subset of four participants is selected for in-depth interviews aimed at elucidating the underlying challenges encountered during problem-solving endeavors, which ultimately contribute to the genesis of learner errors. Analysis of the findings underscores the prevalence of comprehension errors, transformation errors, process errors, and encoding errors amongst learners grappling with problems centered on the subtopic of integration.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v12i12024p044
