Abstract

The Sringin is a downstream river located in East Semarang. The Sringin River becomes the channel waste of the East Semarang district area. The Sringin River bank is surrounded by the Terboyo industrial area and settlement. The flood occurred in both areas, especially at Ngilir village, Genuk subdistrict. It is caused by low-capacity sedimentation channels and buildings occupying the channel body. The study aims to estimate flood discharge during repeat period 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 years on Sringin river downstream, analyze the capacity cross-section river, and identify the river water level profile when debit flowed with various period repeat flood. The hydrology calculation showed that flood discharge plans in the repeat period 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 years are 12.42; 16.67; 19.81; 30.7; 31.6; 33.22 m 3 /s. At the same time, the flow river capacity is 2.95 m/s in the upstream section and 15.52 m/s in the downstream section. Thus, floods occurred in some places when large discharges flowed. In period 2, the water level is about 1.0 to 1.5 meters. In more repeat periods, the level is higher. The conclusion is that the Sringin River cannot flow with perfect discharge, which exceeds its flow capacity.

Abstract

Abstract. Traffic congestion is caused by an imbalance between the increase in vehicle ownership and the growth of available road infrastructure and the effective capacity of existing road sections is smaller than the planned road capacity due to roadside obstacles. The phenomenon of traffic jams is an interesting thing to study, as is the traffic jam caused by the influence of factory activities on Jalan Ngemplak Simongan. This can result in obstruction of traffic flow and reduced levels of road service so that road users who only pass through this place receive negative impacts in the form of longer travel times which ultimately lead to external costs in the form of additional vehicle operational costs (BOK).Key words: factors causing congestion, road performance, congestion costs

Abstract

Abstrack. The Blorong River is a river in the Brangsong District, Kendal Regency, Central Java Province, which has the potential to be hit by flood disasters almost every year. So conditions like this can cause losses to communities around the Blorong River. Through the research carried out, the aim was to determine the maximum discharge of the Blorong river with a river length of ± 3.3 km. The calculations and analysis applied in this research use quantitative methods. The primary data taken is documentation of the existing conditions of the Blorong river, while the secondary data is rainfall data from Balai Pusdataru Bodri Kuto. Analysis of the planned flood discharge using the Nakayasu HSS method shows that the planned return period flood discharge is Q2 years = 236,500 m³/s, Q5 years = 276,392 m³/s, Q10 years = 296,294 m³/s and Q25 years = 300,180 m³/s. After comparing it with the results of manual calculations of the existing conditions of the Blorong River using the Manning formula. The solution to the problem of flooding from the Blorong river is to normalize the river, raise the embankment in the STA section which is no longer able to accommodate the planned flood discharge, and also provide regulations so that people do not throw rubbish in the river. Keywords: Flood Analysis, Flood Discharge, Blorong River

Abstract

Unsignalized intersection Jl. Raya Cangkiran - Jl Cangkiran Gunung Pati, Tambangan kec.Mijen, Semarang is a three-way intersection that has access to the Cupan Terminal. Many people pass through this intersection. In conditions at these intersections, traffic jams occur during rush hours, and there is no traffic light which makes traffic conditions even more irregular, the safety of motorists is also threatened. Therefore, this study was carried out to analyze unsignalized intersections, planning the use of traffic lights, and knowing the traffic characteristics of Jl. Raya Cangkiran - Jl. Gunungpati Cup, Semarang. Data collection was carried out for 3 days, namely Saturday 25 February 2023, Monday 27 February 2023, and Wednesday, 1 March 2023 by taking peak hours at 06.00 WIB - 08.00 WIB, 12.00 WIB - 13.00 WIB, and 16.00 WIB - 18.00 WIB. Data collection methods used are capacity, degree of saturation, delays, queue opportunities, and Traffic Signaling Devices (APILL). The performance analysis of this unsignalized intersection uses the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) to calculate the degree of saturation. As for the level of service using the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 96 PM 2015. The results of the research are that in the existing conditions, alternative B is chosen as the best alternative for planning traffic lights with 2 phases of the 1-hour peak scenario on Saturday morning with a degree of saturation of 0.823 pcu/hour, a queue length of 103,045 m on the West approach, and a value delay of 14,784 veh/sec. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the results of calculating the traffic evaluation for the current conditions obtained that the highest vehicle volume occurred on Monday, 27 February 2023. Then Jl. Raya Cangkiran – Boja, Semarang, fulfills the criteria for installing traffic lights and needs to install traffic lights or traffic control lights. As well as from the 3 planned alternatives, alternative B was chosen to install a 2-phase traffic signal light.
