Abstract

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) has high economic value especially for export and it is potential to be developed into superior export commodities. Central Sulawesi has a promising potential for mangosteen development, but there are some disadvantages that must be corrected in advance such as the aspects of cultivation, production, harvest and post-harvest. The supply of qualified planting materials sourced from prospective parent tree is the first step that needs to be taken to improve mangosteen cultivation in Central Sulawesi mainly in Poso Regency. The research was carried out in Petirodongi and Sawidago villages of North Pamona district, Poso Regency. Leaves anatomical analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of Plant Pests and Diseases of the Faculty of Agriculture of Tadulako University. The research was conducted from December 2016 to February 2017. The research used explorative method, the data obtained employed cluster analysis. The analysis result of cluster results in Petirodongi Village reveal that there are various accession namely PD6 and PD14 in Sawidago district has four various accession such as SD4, SD9, SD10 and SD14. Meanwhile, the combination of the two villages obtained two accessions namely PD6 and SD4.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a good concentration on the regeneration of growth regulators contained in coconut water on cocoa seed vigor (Theobroma cacao L). This research conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Science and Technology of Agriculture Faculty of Tadulako University. The experiment conducted from March to May 2017. This experiment used Complete Randomized Design, that are coconut water consisting of three levels = 50% of coconut water, = 75% of coconut water, = 100 % of coconut water. The treatments were repeated 10 times, so there are 30 units of treatments, each unit used 3 plants, so the number of plants observed is 90 plants. The results showed that the application of 100% of coconut water in cocoa seedlings were able to give better coconut seed vigor on increasing in plant height, increasing of leaf number, increasing of stem diameter, and total chlorophyll leaf compared to 75% concentration of coconut water and concentration 50% coconut water

Abstract

Telah diketahui bahwa tingkat keberhasilan pertautan sambungan pada tanaman nangka masih sangat rendah. Hal ini diduga akibat faktor fisiologis yaitu tingginya kandungan getah, ketidaksesuaian ukuran diameter batang bawah dengan entris, serta faktor lingkungan di sekitar lokasi pertumbuhan bibit. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dapat dilakukan saat bibit berumur 3 bulan dan ditanam pada lokasi yang mendukung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kompatibilitas bibit batang bawah dan keberhasilan pertautan sambungan pada berbagai entris dengan cara grafting pada bibit tanaman nangka. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2010, di Desa Mpanau, Kecamatan Sigi Biromaru, Kabupaten Sigi, Sulawesi Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial 2 faktor. Faktor pertama menggunakan berbagai kultivar batang bawah yang terdiri atas dua taraf, yaitu : BA = Kultivar Beka-3 dan BB = Kultivar Tulo-5 . Faktor kedua menggunakan kultivar entris yang terdiri atas tiga taraf, yaitu : KA = Kultivar Lambara, KB = Kultivar Bora, KC = Kultivar Toaya. Dengan demikian terdapat 6 kombinasi perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali sebagai kelompok, sehingga diperoleh 18 unit perlakuan. Setiap unit percobaan terdapat 10 bibit tanaman dan total bibit 180 bibit tanaman. Analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa berbagai kultivar batang bawah dan entris berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap bibit bertaut. Terdapat interaksi antara batang bawah Beka-3 dan entris Lambara terhadap persentase bibit bertaut

Abstract

Dalam penyediaan benih nangka bermutu, tingkat kemasakan buah menjadi penting karena sangat menentukan vigor dan viabilitas benih yang dihasilkan. Vigor dan viabilitas merupakan refleksi kekuatan tumbuh dan kemampuan adaptasi tanaman saat di lapangan. Pengkajian secara morfologi dengan metode deskriptif dan kajian fisiologi memberikan hasil adanya perubahan morfologi pada setiap umur kemasakan buah. Namun pada stadia kemasakan M4 (Umur 37 Minggu) tidak terjadi perubahan karena atribut pertumbuhan telah mencapai maksimun dan mengalami penurunan setelah tercapai masak fisiologi benih. Perbedaan tingkat kemasakan benih nangka ditandai dengan perbedaan fisiologi seperti Bobot basah, bobot kering, daya berkecambah, kecepatan berkecambah dan pemunculan kecambah. Melalui kajian morfologi diperoleh empat stadia kemasakan buah nangka yakni M1, M2, M3, dan M4 stadia kemasakan yang terbaik untuk dijadikan benih bermutu  adalah stadia M4 (Umur 8 bulan setelah anthesis).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kevigoran bibit kakao pada berbagai lama penyimpanan dan invigorasi benih. Penelitian ini disusun berdasarkan pola faktorial menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, dengan 2 faktor.  Faktor pertama adalah lama penyimpanan benih yang terdiri dari lima taraf yaitu: 1) control , 2) lama simpan 2 minggu, 3) lama simpan 4 minggu,  4) lama simpan 6 minggu, 5) lama simpan 8 minggu. Faktor kedua adalah cara invigorasi benih dengan menggunakan ZPT yang terdiri dari empat macam yaitu: 1) tanpa ZPT, 2) 0,01 m mol GA3, 3) 0,01 m mol GA3 + 0,1 m mol NAA, 4) air kelapa.  Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam, data yang memiliki koefisien keragaman lebih dari 20% ditransformasikan ke √ x + 0,5  Sedangkan perlakuan yang berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ pada taraf  0,05.  Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa : Semakin lama benih disimpan menyebabkan vigor bibit juga semakin menurun.  Invigorasi dengan GA3 + NAA memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap persentase  bibit vigor, tinggi bibit, jumlah daun dan indeks vigor hipotetik. Air kelapa dapat menjadi alternative cara invigorasi benih kakao yang telah mengalami kemunduran.

Abstract

The research aims to find out the effect of seed scarification and germination substrat to seed viability and seedling vigor of aren. The Experiment applied a group random design (RAK) with factorial style consiting of two factors. The first factor are scarification treatment:S0=without scarification, S1=scarification+trcatment 40 oC, S2=scarification+KN03 0.5%, soaked for 36 hours+tempcrature 40oC, the second factor arc germination substrat: M0=sand, M1=rice coal, M2=cocopith, M3=soil from palm tree+organic materil (1:1), M4=M3+fertilizer NPK (1 g per kg media). The highest seed germination was found in the scarification+KN03 0.5%, soaked for 36 hours+ temperature 40 oC which growing on media of palm oil soil+organic fertilizer (1:1)+fertilizer NPK (1g per kg media) that 83.33-86.67% and germinating speed 0.85-1.04% ctmal. There treatment also effected on seedling vigor normal vigours germination indicated by dry content weight and hypotctic vigor index. Keywords: aren, scarification, germination substrat

Abstract

ABSTRACTProvision  of  quality  seedling  materials  by  high  vigority  seedling  is  one of the  important supporting system to  the  development  of  commercial-scale jackfruit  farms.  After passing through  a period of  jackfruit  seed conservation period, the viability of the seed is decreasing,  and a propertreatment  is needed  before  planting.  Organic  growing  media  for  seedling  may  have beneficial  to maintain  seedling  vigority.  The  use  of  waste  organic material for  improving  seed  vigority  is  less researched. The  purpose of this experiment was  to  identify  the best  growing media  for improving Tulo jackfruit  seed  vigority  after  a  period  of  conservation.  Experiment  was conducted  using  arandomized block design  (RBD)  factorial design, consisting of a  seed  source  (conservation  period) and  the  type  of  organic  growing media. The experimental  results  indicated  that  the  source  of seedling  and growing  media  affected  strongly  the  leaf  area,  dry  weight  and  seedling vigorhypothetical index. The interaction between the seedling source and organic growing media showedsignificant differences in seedling height, stem diameter and leaf numbers.Keywords: seedling vigority, jackfruit, conservation, waste and organic growing media ABSTRAKPenyediaan bahan tanam yang bermutu melalui vigor bibit yang tinggi menjadi daya dukung dalam pengembangan tanaman nangka dalam pembuatan kebun-kebun berskala komersial. Setelah melewati  periode  konservasi  benih  nangka mengalami  penurunan  viabilitas  sehingga  dibutuhkan perlakuan yang tepat ketika penanaman akan dilakukan. Salah satu cara meningkatkan vigor bibit adalah memberikan media tanam organik yang dapat meningkatkan vigor bibit, bahan organik yang berasal  dari  limbah  belum  banyak  dikaji efektivitasnya dalam  meningkatkan  vigor  bibit.  Tujuan percobaan untuk memperoleh media tanam terbaik yang menunjang vigor bibit nangka Tulo setelah periode  konservasi.  Percobaan  dilakukan  menggunakan  Rancangan Acak  Kelompok (RAK)  pola faktorial,  terdiri  dari  sumber  benih  (periode konservasi)  dan  jenis  media  tanam  organik.  Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa sumber benih dan media tanam berpengaruh secara bebas terhadap luas daun, bobot kering bibit dan indeks vigor hipotetik. Interaksi sumber benih dan media tanan organik  menunjukkan  adanya  perbedaan  yang  nyata  terhadap tinggi  bibit,diameter  batang  dan jumlah daun.Kata kunci: vigor bibit, nangka, konservasi, limbah dan media tanam organik

Abstract

Mangosteen (GarciniamangostanaL.) is Indonesia's flagship fruit commodity which is widely distributed in Central Sulawesi with high export value and very potential to be developed into superior export commodities. Central Sulawesi has good mangosteen production potential, but it is still on the scale of house yard.  Thus, to increase the potential of mangosteen production, it is necessary to provide selected trees which can be used as seed sources. This research used survey and direct descriptive method, and data obtained was analyzed using cluster analysis. The research was conducted inPamona and Tendeadongi villages, Pamona Utara sub-district, Poso District. The analysis of mangosteen leaf anatomy was carried out in the Laboratory of Plant Pests and Diseases of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako. This study was conducted from December 2016 to February 2017. The results of cluster analysis showed that there are three different accession groups in either village.  The groups in Pamona village were PM4, PM7 and PM3 whereas in Tendeadongiwere TD15, TD1 and TD13. The combined accession between mangosteen of Pamona and Tendeadongivillage areconsisted of four different accessional groups represented by PM3, TD1, TD13 and TD15.Keywords: Anatomy,cluster, mangosteen, and morphology.

Abstract

Mango (Mangiferaindica L.) is a type of tropical fruit  which is favored by people in the world and becomes a commodity trade between countries. According to the information, known as mango The Best Loved-Tropical, accompany the popularity of durian as the King of Fruit. The main product of the mango is its thatis  usuallyconsumed in fresh or processed products. But in addition to the fruit,,other components that also played an important role were the mangoes leaves than can be benefit from medicinal plants as an alternative. This research aimed to obtain a diversity of mango tree based on morphological and anatomical analysis of plant the mango in the West Toboli village and Pombalowo Regency, Parigi Moutong Regency. This research was carried out in the village of West Toboli,  District Toboli Parigi North and the village of Pombalowo sub-district of Parigi, Parigiranga Reddy District and Laboratory Science (FMIPA), the University of Tadulako conducted in July to August 2016. This research method using exploratory, as for a character that observed was the height of the plant (m), diameter (cm), the shape of the canopy, the long strands of leaves (cm) width (cm) leaf blade, petiole length (cm). Cluster analysis results in the village there were three groups of Western Toboli diverse namely TBB12, TBB14 and TBB11, in the village of Pombalowo there were three diverse groups namely PBL1, PBL5 and PBL8. Whereas in the second the village obtained a combined five diverse groups namely TBB12, TBB14, TBB2, PBL1 and TBB11. Characters that distinguished the selected accessions were the height of plants, and the diameter of the rod.

Abstract

The development of Central Sulawesi superior commodity,which is Tulo-5, the drough-resistant cultivars, through tissue culture technique can be used as an alternative, in addition to conventional breeding. This study aims to determine the growth of jackfruit shoots in  various concentrations of benzylamino purine in vitro. The research has been conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Agriculture Faculty of Tadulako University, Palu.  The research began on December 2017 and ended up on February 2018. This research used Completely Randomised Design of one-factor treatment which is BAP concentrations consist of 4 stage which is1,5 ppm BAP, 2,0 ppm BAP, 2,5 ppm BAP, 3,0 ppm BAP. The result showed that 6 weeks after planting, BAP concentration had significant effect on shoots time to emerge and shoots number but no significant effect on leaf number.  The result of Tukey’s HSD test showed that concentration2,5 ppm gave the fastest shoot emergence with an average of 2,875 days after planting, in concentration 2,0 ppm gave the highest number of shoots with an average of 2.125 shoots per explant, and for the highest number of leaves found in the concentration of 2,0 ppm with the average number of leaves is 1 strand per explant.
