Abstract

Strengthening character is an illustration of human qualities that must be developed by educational units, and is the basis for developing national character. Responsibility is a person's awareness of carrying out an activity and being willing to take risks as a result of the action. Scouting as an organizational activity in schools is very relevant to strengthening the character of responsibility. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation and obstacles to strengthening the responsible character of Scout organizational activities carried out at MAN 2 Madiun City. This research uses descriptive qualitative research, meaning it is to present a complete picture of an event or is intended to clarify a phenomenon that is occurring. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman model through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The theoretical basis for this research is the theory of character formation by Thomas Lickona. The results of the research show that strengthening the character of responsibility through the MAN 2 Madiun City Scout organization cannot be separated from the guidance of parents, school principals, Scout leaders and older brothers on the shelf council. Strengthening the character of responsibility through work programs or activities, namely routine Fridays, reception of visiting guests, inauguration of Bantara, inauguration of implementing, large camps, and hiking. During the process of strengthening the character of responsibility in students, there are obstacles that are difficult for students to manage, even hot weather. which makes it less supportive of outdoor Scout activities. So there is a need for strategies such as socialization, firmness when there are students who do not obey orders, and creating meeting or evaluation forums for discussion.

Abstract

Education is the right of every Indonesian child, so it is appropriate to provide guarantees to fulfill the learning process in an inclusive manner. The economic capabilities that tend to differ in the Bojonegoro region have an impact on the number of graduates, resulting in differences or gaps in education between regions. This gap can hamper the equal distribution of the quality of undergraduate education in Bojonegoro Regency. The Genius S1 Scholarship provides a solution in the form of undergraduate education assistance for all Bojonegoro residents who are studying at a university in Bojonegoro. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of the Genius S1 Scholarship program in overcoming the undergraduate level education gap in Bojonegoro Regency and to review whether this program has been effective in overcoming the undergraduate education gap in Bojonegoro Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data was collected using observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation. Informants in this research were selected using key informants. The results of this research show that the undergraduate genius scholarship program has been implemented in accordance with applicable SK and SOP. The Genius S1 Scholarship Program is implemented by providing tuition assistance with certain conditions and an administrative selection process, interviews, skills tests and field surveys so that it can be right on target.

Abstract

This research aims to test whether or not there is a relationship between class VIII students' understanding of their discipline at SMPN 1 Lembeyan Magetan. This research uses quantitative research with a sample size of 60 respondents, namely class VIII students at SMPN 1 Lembeyan for the 2023/2024 academic year. The sample was determined using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The data analysis technique used in this research is the normality test and partial test or t-test with one sample T-Test statistics. Through the questionnaire, students' understanding of the rules and regulations was in the high category with the most respondents being in the percentage score of 56-41, with 49 respondents with a percentage of 82%. Meanwhile, the discipline of class VIII students is in the high category with the most respondents being in the percentage score of 84-63 with 53 respondents with a percentage of 88%. Based on the t test criteria, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. If the results of the data processing have been carried out, the results obtained are tcount = 0.001 and ttable = 0.05, this proves that tcount > ttable. This shows that there is a relationship between class VIII students' understanding of rules and discipline at SMPN 1 Lembeyan Magetan.

Abstract

In facing national problems such as intolerance and ethnic and social conflicts, Indonesia needs to re-actualize the values of Pancasila, which have been proven as a unifying solution for the nation. Pancasila, as the foundation of the state and the nation's outlook on life, plays an important role in uniting the ethnic, religious, and cultural differences in Indonesia. However, in daily practice, the values of Pancasila tend to be eroded and are more present as formal symbols than behavioral guidelines, thus triggering various disputes between residents. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity Pancasila is intended to (1) instill Pancasila values in the Pacet Village community; (2) mentor the Pacet Village youth organization as a facilitator of harmony by utilizing social media to campaign for harmony in society. This community service activity is a collaboration between the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, Surabaya State University with the Pacet Village Government, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, and the Mojokerto Regency Interfaith Harmony Forum. This community service activity is a Pancasila Discussion and Creative Content Creation Training for Karang Taruna Pacet Village. The method used is socialization, which provides material about Pancasila as a unifier of the nation, ending with digital content training. Through socialization activities, national insight training, discussions with religious leaders, and training for village officials, efforts to strengthen Pancasila encourage a harmonious life amidst diversity.

Abstract

Strengthening national insight and nationalism is a strategic step in building a society that loves its homeland, upholds unity, and understands diversity as the strength of the nation. This article discusses a community service program carried out in Sidodadi Village, Surabaya City, with the aim of increasing public understanding of national insight and nationalism. This program involved 30 participants from various backgrounds through seminars, group discussions, and practical training. Participatory methods were applied to ensure active community involvement in the learning process. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in the level of participant understanding, from 70% before the activity to 85% after. In addition, the positive response from participants reflects the success of this activity in instilling national values ​​that are relevant to everyday life. Despite challenges such as time constraints and uneven involvement, this activity has had a real impact on strengthening nationalism at the local level. This program concludes that strengthening national insight requires a systematic, educational, and sustainable approach. With the support of local governments and community participation, similar activities can be replicated in other regions to strengthen national unity.

Abstract

Indonesia's democracy, despite over two decades of progress since the fall of the New Order regime, has faced stagnation and democratic backsliding in recent years. Indicators from institutions such as the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Freedom House, and Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) consistently highlight a decline in democratic quality. Contributing factors include identity politics, declining electoral integrity, political dynasties, and weak institutional capacities, described as "Low-Capacity Democracy." This study employs a qualitative approach to explore these challenges, including literature reviews, document analysis, and interviews. The findings reveal systemic issues at both institutional and societal levels, including weakened oversight bodies like the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the dominance of executive power, and the rise of transactional politics and political dynasties. Digital challenges, such as disinformation and low digital literacy, also exacerbate these issues. This study recommends comprehensive reforms, such as strengthening independent institutions, enhancing transparency in public fund management, and improving political education to reduce transactional practices. Digital media regulations and technology-based electoral monitoring are also proposed to increase transparency. By addressing these issues, Indonesia can reinforce democratic resilience and foster an inclusive, accountable political system.

Abstract

Artikel ini bermaksud untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimanakah penguasaan kompetensi profesional guru PPKn dan faktor apa yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Prodi PPKn FISH UNESA ini mengambil sampel 86 mahasiswa yang telah menyelesaikan Praktik Pengalaman Pembelajaran (PPP). Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes dan angket yang dikembangkan peneliti. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa mereka memiliki kompetensi profesional guru yang cukup baik. Temuan ini konsisten dengan gambaran tentang sikap, minat, dan motivasinya serta pengalaman belajar yang juga berada pada kategori cukup. Kompetensi ini masih perlu diperbaiki, salah satunya dengan mengoptimalkan proses belajarnya.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This essay to describe the level of comprehension of professional competency among PPKn teachers and its factors influencing these competencies. The research was conducted at Study Program of PPKn, FIHS UNESA with 86 selected students being taking course). Data was collected through questionnaire, and test developed by the researcher. The result reveals that they have an adequate professional competency. This result is consistent with the levels of attitude, interest, motivation, and learning experience. This level should be up-graded, one of them through learning process.

Abstract

The Pencak Silat organization Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate (PSHT) plays an important role in teaching Pancasila values, especially through the PSHT Student Activity Unit (UKM) at Surabaya State University (UNESA). This study aims to analyze the implementation of Pancasila values in the teachings of PSHT to shape student character based on moral, spiritual, and nationality. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, this research collects data through interviews with UKM members, observation of activities, and document analysis. The data were analyzed thematically to identify the form of implementation, constraints, and impacts. The results showed that Pancasila values are applied in various aspects of UNESA PSHT UKM activities, despite facing obstacles such as diverse member understanding and the challenge of maintaining consistency of application in the midst of organizational activities. The implementation of Pancasila values in PSHT SMEs has a positive impact in shaping the character of Pancasila, strengthening solidarity, and increasing the sense of nationality. This study concludes that the teachings of PSHT can be a strategic forum for instilling Pancasila values in students. Strengthening a more structured program is needed so that the implementation of these values remains sustainable and effective.

Abstract

This research aims to develop video learning to recognize vowel letters through sign language with an approach that is suitable for children with kinesthetic learning styles, who often experience difficulties in the traditional learning process. This research draws on multiple learning intelligences, particularly kinesthetic intelligence, which emphasizes that children learn best through physical activity. The research method follows the ADDIE model, which includes the steps of needs analysis, content design, video development, implementation, and evaluation, to ensure that the final product meets the criteria of effective learning. Based on unstructured interview data, teachers emphasized the importance of the specific features of letters. The implementation of this method was indicated to be successful, showing that 83.33% of students from groups A1 and A2 made significant progress in recognizing vowel letter sounds, with an average n-gain of 0.81 (A1) and 0.83 (A2). Although there were challenges for 20% of students in the speed of letter shape recognition and imitation, these results support the need for a diverse and inclusive approach to learning. The research recommends collaborative learning strategies for children who struggle with letter recognition and emphasizes the importance of using methods that support all learning styles. The implications of the findings lie in developing more effective learning media, encouraging active and interactive learning that strengthens children's literacy and communication skills. The originality of this research lies in the integration of Indonesian letter sounds, the use of sign language and the learning steps of kinesthetic children. This research makes the subject matter more accessible to children with kinesthetic learning styles and makes a significant contribution to modern learning methodologies

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi guru PPKn dalam menanamkan nilai nasionalisme pada peserta didik tunagrahita di sekolah inklusi SMP Negeri 2 Sedati. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitataif dengan metode deskriptif. Strategi Guru PPKn dalam menanamkan nilai nasionalisme pada peserta didik tunagrahita kemudian akan dianalisis menggunakan teori pendidikan karakter oleh Thomas Lickona. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang dilakukan guru PPKn dalam menanamkan nilai nasionalisme pada peserta didik tunagrahita adalah dengan melakukan perencanaan pembelajaran dengan memilih metode pembelajaran kooperatif dan media pembelajaran. Selanjutnya, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan berpedoman pada modul ajar, menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, memberikan perhatian khusus, mendampingi proses belajar, mengajak untuk menyanyikan lagu wajib nasional dan daerah serta mengikutsertakan peserta didik tunagrahita dalam kegiatan penanaman nilai nasionalisme di sekolah. Pada tahap evaluasi pembelajaran, guru PPKn melakukan penyesuaian pada penilaian pada peserta didik tunagrahita.
