Abstract

In an increasingly complex social life, there is often an increase in the use of abusive language, which can be detrimental to individuals and society. This study aims to examine the potential of Abdussamad al-Palimbani’s zikr concept and practice as a spiritual approach to help overcome the phenomenon of abusive language. This research utilized a qualitative approach by reviewing the literature on zikr and spiritual practices in Islam. The research combined social psychology theory and spiritual approaches to examine how the zikr teachings of Abdusamad al-Palimbani can be a solution to change the habit of spreading hate speech. The results show that the practice of zikr has the potential to develop spiritual awareness that can influence communication behavior. The implications of this research include the need to integrate spiritual values into the development of children’s personalities, youth, and communication ethics as part of character education. The results of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of educational programs and social interventions that focus on changing communication behavior towards more dignified and polite communication patterns.

Abstract

Abstract: The organizational role of the church council in a pluralistic environment has a very important position, especially in realizing religious harmony in the community of Klepu Village, Sook, Ponorogo. The contribution of the church council is very much needed, where Klepu Village is a village that adheres to different beliefs. Islam is the majority and Catholics make up half of the total number of Muslims. This research aims to determine the role of the church council in creating religious harmony in Klepu Village in Sooko, Ponorogo. and to find out the obstacles for the Church Council in creating religious harmony in the village. The method used in this research is an analytical/descriptive method with a Sociology of Religion approach, while data collection is carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research explain that the existence of the church council makes a positive contribution in creating a harmonious, peaceful and tolerant Klepu community. Some of the roles of the church council which are carried out together with several formal and informal figures include inter-religious dialogue, social roles, education, and so on. This effort aims to strengthen religious harmony in Klepu and increase understanding of the harmony and religious values that exist in the Klepu village community. The obstacles for the church council are limited funds. Lack of facilities has an impact on the church council's efforts to create harmony. Sometimes there are still people who are not aware of the importance of religious harmony. However, so far there have been no serious obstacles for the church council to create religious harmony in Klepu Village.

Abstract

Paham pluralisme agama sebagai bagaian dari toelogi liberal, bertujuan untuk mendamaikan semua umat beragama. Akan tetapi, hal ini justru menimbulkan problem bagi agama-agama, khususnya agama Islam. Karena dalam agama Islam terdapat bagian-bagian ushuliah atau asas dari agama yang tidak dapat ditolerir. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan konsep pluralisme agama dalam perspektif maqasid syari’ah. Dalam penulisan artikel ini, digunakan metode analisis-kritis. Islam merupakan agama rahmatan lil alamin atau kemaslahatan untuk seluruh makhluk. Namun, bukan berarti agar dapat bertoleransi dengan agama-agama ataupun budaya-budaya lain harus menyertakan agama di dalamnya. Karena, pluralisme agama-agama yang diartikan sebagai toleransi pada ranah teologis akan mengubah tujuan syari’at dan hukum-hukum yang ada dalam agama Islam. Atau mudahnya mengubah maqāsid syari’ah atau tujuan adanya syari’ah. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat dirangkum dalam beberapa poin. Pertama, pluralisme agama-agama yang bertujuan mendamaikan umat beragama, justru menimbulkan kerusakan. Kedua, paham pluralisme sangat bertentangan dengan konsep dīn menurut al-Attas. Ketiga, Islam sebagai agama rahmatan lil ‘alamin memiliki toleransi namun tidak pada tahap teologis.
