Abstract

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is gas that is formed from the production of oil refineries and gas refineries. An energy source that is widely used in everyday life, especially in cooking and heating applications. The purpose of this study was to examine the strength performance of a 12 kg LPG gas cylinder in the face of external pressure that occurs during normal use. The method used in writing this scientific article is to review various literature and other references related to the analysis of the strength of LPG gas cylinders using SolidWorks software with the finite element method. The results of the analysis of the strength of the structure and the factor of safety obtained are the force test of 7.826e+03 and the theoretical value of 7.827.18385 does not exceed the yield strength value (2.482 x 105). After analysis, it is known that the smallest gas cylinder safety validation value is 1,1 and a maximum of 22.7, so that the material structure is safe and can be used to manufacture 12 kg LPG gas cylinders.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to design a tool that can assist coffee farmers in determining the quality of the coffee beans produced according to the desired grade value of the coffee beans. The tool is designed to be able to fulfill the functional value produced by the tool. So that farmers can work fast, save time in the process of grading and sorting coffee beans, able to minimize operational costs, and save energy. With an electric motor power of 1 hp, the sizing machine is capable of sorting coffee with a capacity of ±250 kg/hour, therefore a day's the process of sorting 500 kg of coffee can be achieved in less than 2 hours. This really helps coffee farmers in determining the quality of coffee beans without taking a long time.

Abstract

One of the challenges faced by micro-businesses like Kopi Combre in the village of Sumberdem, Wonosari District, when they want to use packaging for their products is selecting packaging that is unique and appealing to consumers. The primary goal of this community engagement project is to provide guidance in designing packaging structures and labels suitable for the micro-scale industry, particularly for Kopi Combre. The method involves community engagement and incorporates literature studies and information analysis. This study covers aspects such as coffee product attributes, packaging structure design, and labels. The findings indicate that the most suitable packaging type for the micro-scale industry is the Pouch packaging, while the packaging and label design will feature dark colors and include information about the coffee product and a unique brand.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kekuatan struktur sasis kendaraan kompetisi BAJA SAE menggunakan metode Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Simulasi dilakukan untuk mengukur tegangan Von Mises, deformasi total, dan faktor keamanan pada berbagai skenario pembebanan, seperti tabrak depan, tabrak belakang, tabrak samping, dan terguling. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa sasis kendaraan memiliki performa yang memadai dengan nilai tegangan Von Mises maksimal 263 MPa pada uji tabrak samping dan deformasi total terbesar sebesar 3,42 mm. Faktor keamanan (FoS) berkisar antara 2,0 hingga 5,5, mengindikasikan desain sasis yang mampu menahan berbagai beban tanpa mengalami kerusakan. Berdasarkan hasil ini, desain sasis BAJA SAE dipastikan aman, kokoh, dan memenuhi standar kompetisi. Kata kunci: Sasis BAJA SAE, Analisis Elemen Hingga, Faktor Keamanan, Tegangan Von Mises, Deformasi Total.

Abstract

Hydroponics training at the Indonesian School of Davao (SID) Philippines aims to improve students' skills in growing crops using soilless methods. Hydroponics is an effective solution for sustainable agriculture in countries with limited land. This training was carried out in three stages: pre-activity, implementation, and evaluation. The pre-activity stage identifies problems in implementing modern agricultural technology in schools. During implementation, students gain theoretical and practical understanding of hydroponic systems, including planting media selection, plant care, and nutrient management. Evaluation is carried out to assess the skills students acquire after training. Participants' response to the training reached 97%, reflecting high satisfaction and interest in the material presented. These findings confirm that hydroponic training can be an effective solution in preparing students to face the challenges of sustainable agriculture in the future. The results of the training show that students are able to manage hydroponic systems independently and understand the importance of environmentally friendly agriculture, as well as the skills needed to face agricultural challenges in the future.

Abstract

Proses manufacturing bodi depan/cap mobil listrik menggunakan sistematika yang diawali dengan pembuatan desain bodi depan atau cap dengan menggunakan Auto CAD, pembuatan master cetakan menggunakan plat siku pengunci, sterofoam digunakan sebagai bantalan dan vinyl mika digunakan sebagai lapisan atas untuk penuangan adonan fiber. Pembuatan adonan fiber yang dituangkan pada master cetakan untuk menghasilkan sebuah bodi depan/cap mobil harus dilakukan sesuai desain untuk menghasilkan cetakan yang rata dan ketebalan yang sama dan menghasilkan ketebalan bodi depan atau cap 2,5 cm.Selanjutnya finising dilakukan dengan proses pengamplasan dan proses pendempulan dengan teliti untuk menghasilkan sebuah bodi depan atau cap yang bagus tidak bergelombang atau berlubang. Dan dilanjutkan dengan langkah finising menggunakan cat warna silver dan biru yang sesuai dengan desain. Dan dihasilakan produk jadi yaitu bodi bagian depan/cap mobil listrik. Pemilihan bahan untuk pembuatan bodi menggunakan komposit sangat cocok untuk diterapkan dalam membuat bodi depan atau cap mobil listrik, karena bahan komposit relatif lebih ringan dari plat besi, dengan komposisi yaitu resin 3kg, talk 2,5kg, mat 1 gulungan dan katalis 2 botol, dan dihasilkan bodi depan/cap dengan berat 7 kg yang dan sesuai dengan desain yang telah dibuat.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate how the condition of the cylinder block affects the fuel efficiency of a Mercury 450 Racing V8 speedboat engine. As a vital component in the engine, the cylinder block is responsible for housing and supporting the cylinders, where the combustion process takes place. Damage to the cylinder block, such as cracks, corrosion, or wear, can lead to decreased compression pressure and gas leakage, resulting in decreased combustion efficiency and increased fuel consumption. This study used an experimental approach to assess the effect of different levels of cylinder block damage on engine fuel efficiency. The results showed that the condition of the cylinder block significantly affects fuel efficiency, with damaged cylinder blocks drastically reducing engine efficiency. These findings highlight the importance of regular maintenance and repair of the cylinder block to maintain optimal fuel efficiency and improve speedboat engine performance. The repair of the cylinder block gave an improved fuel consumption efficiency of 22.22% meaning the engine became more efficient in using fuel after the repair of the problem of sticking shells and oil leakage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the energy efficiency and capacity optimization of the TD 530 YML VK boiler after the occurrence of damage in the combustion system, specifically pipe leaks. The research was conducted by monitoring the boiler's condition before and after the leak, as well as after repairs were carried out. The methods used include collecting data on the leak, calculating energy efficiency, and evaluating fuel consumption. The results show that pipe leaks caused a 10% decrease in efficiency and an 11.1% increase in fuel consumption. After the repair, efficiency improved to 95% of the optimal condition, reducing fuel consumption by 5.31% for Diesel Oil and 5.26% for Natural Gas. The conclusion of this study is that repairs can enhance energy efficiency and reduce fuel consumption, although the performance does not fully return to the pre-leak optimal state

Abstract

Energi angin merupakan salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai pembangkit listrik ramah lingkungan di Indonesia. Artikel ini menyajikan analisis komprehensif mengenai potensi energi angin, perkembangan teknologi turbin angin, dan berbagai inovasi terkini dalam pemanfaatan energi angin. Berdasarkan kajian literatur, sejumlah wilayah di Indonesia memiliki potensi angin yang menjanjikan, dengan kecepatan angin dan daya output yang cukup mendukung untuk pembangkit listrik skala kecil hingga menengah. Penggunaan turbin angin baik tipe sumbu horizontal ataup vertikal menjadi kunci utama dalam konversi energi kinetik angin menjadi energi listrik. Inovasi dalam desain aerodinamis, jumlah sudu, penggunaan material ringan, dan sistem penyimpanan energi berbasis hybrid baterai-superkapasitor telah terbukti meningkatkan efisiensi turbin. Tetapi, pengembangan energi angin juga dihadapkan pada tantangan, seperti fluktuasi kecepatan angin, biaya investasi awal yang tinggi, serta keterbatasan infrastruktur dan teknologi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pengembangan yang terarah dan dukungan kebijakan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi energi angin sebagai bagian dari transisi energi nasional menuju sistem kelistrikan yang berkelanjutan dan rendah emisi. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis potensi energi angin sebagai sumber energi listrik terbarukan, mengkaji perkembangan teknologi turbin angin yang digunakan, dan mengidentifikasi inovasi terkini yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan pemanfaatannya. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tantangan dalam implementasi energi angin serta merumuskan strategi pengembangan yang mendukung optimalisasi penggunaannya sebagai solusi energi yang ramah lingkungan.
