Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) The demand for eggplant was increasing, but the availability of eggplant is low so it cannot be fulfilled. One of the causes of low eggplant production is due to the attack of wilt disease on eggplant plants caused by Fusarium oxysporum. Symptoms include wilted leaves, yellowing leaves and brown root and stem tissue. Control that is often done is to use pesticides (fungicides) which can cause environmental pollution. One control of Fusarium spp. wilt disease. with microbial antagonists. This research was conducted to determine the ability of isolates of rhizobacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens group (PF) and Bacillus spp. from bamboo, chili and ferns inhibited the growth of Fusarium spp. in vitro. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with isolates of Pseudomonas fluorescens group and Bacillus spp. each 4 treatments, control. Testing the inhibitory power of isolates of Pseudomonas fluorescens group and Bacillus spp. carried out by the challenge method and in vitro. Observations were made on the percentage of inhibition of rhizosphere bacteria (DH) after incubation for 7 days. All isolates of Pseudomonas fluorescens group and isolates of Bacillus spp. Has different inhibitory power on the fungus Fusarium spp. The isolates of Pseudomonas fluorescens group derived from bamboo roots from the Palem area (KPBP) (81.95%) were isolates that had the highest percentage of inhibition and Bacillus spp. derived from chili roots from the Guntung Manggis area (BGTP1) (70%) was the isolate that had the highest percentage of inhibition.

Abstract

Oryza sativa L. can be called an important commodity because it is used as a staple food. Farmers in cultivating rice expect high yields, but there are obstacles that cause yields to decline, namely the attack of the Brown Stem Planthopper (BSP) (Nilaparvata lugens Stal.) which can lead to crop failure. Farmers controlling N. lugens still use insecticides. Control by using insecticides is known to have a negative impact on users and the environment and can cause resistance, resurgence and residue. One of the safe controls is the use of Beauveria bassiana as an entomopathogenic fungus. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of B. bassiana cultured on various media in controlling WBC attacks. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments, namely control treatment without B. bassiana, control with B. bassiana grown on PDA media, B. bassiana grown on corn media, and B. bassiana growing on media. grown on rice media, given B. bassiana grown on bran media, given B. bassiana grown on husk ash and repeated 4 times. Observations were made after one application by observing mortality (mortality) every 24 hours for 7 days. The results of the observation that the highest mortality percentage was found in the corn media treatment reaching 47.50%, rice media 40%, bran media 18.75% while the lowest was found in the husk media, namely 15%.

Abstract

The productivity of cayenne pepper in South Kalimantan has increased in 2017 – 2020, to maintain the stability of cayenne pepper productivity in South Kalimantan, efforts are needed to prevent the occurrence of cayenne pepper anthracnose. Anthracnose disease caused by the fungus Colletotrichum sp. which is an important disease in cayenne pepper because it can cause crop failure. Farmers generally control anthracnose using synthetic pesticides, but the use of synthetic pesticides can have a negative impact on the environment and crop quality. Alternative environmentally friendly controls that can be developed are the use of organic materials, especially organic wastes which still have active compounds and have the potential to be used as vegetable pesticides. One of the organic wastes that can be used is jengkol peel (Pithecellobium jiringa). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of jengkol peel extract in inhibiting the growth of the fungus Colletotrichum sp. on chili peppers. The environmental design used in this study was a one-factor completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 concentrations of jengkol peel extract, namely T0 (control), T1 (10%), T2 (20%), T3 (30%), and T4 (40%) with 4 replications. The application of jengkol peel extract was carried out 3 times and the inoculation of the fungus Colletotrichum sp. done 1 time when the plants are flowering (50 hst). Observations were made every 7 days after the application of jengkol peel extract. The results of research observations showed that jengkol peel extract was effective in inhibiting the occurrence of anthracnose disease. The concentration of jengkol peel extract that was most effective in inhibiting the growth of anthracnose disease in cayenne pepper was at a concentration of 40% with the smallest percentage of disease incidence of 12.9%.

Abstract

The mosaic disease that causes TMV is a major pest of chili cultivation. Mosaic disease is significant because the losses it causes are quite significant. Environmentally friendly control of TMV can use PGPR. This study aims to study the potential of PGPR derived from reed roots, bamboo roots, kalakai roots and elephant grass roots in controlling TMV in chili plants. This study used a 1-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments, K1(–), K2(+), A + TMV, B + TMV, C + TMV and D + TMV. PGPR is made using reed roots, bamboo roots, kalakai roots and elephant grass roots. The results of the study confirmed that PGPR derived from reed roots, bamboo roots, melakai roots and elephant grass roots had the potential to control TMV in large chili plants and stimulate the growth of chili plants, namely increasing the height of chili plants infected with TMV, increasing fruit and production. PGPR derived from bamboo roots has better performance than reed roots, elephant grass roots, and kalakai roots.

Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a native plant known to tropical regions in Indonesia. As an indigenous vegetable, eggplant is almost always found in farmer's markets and traditional markets at relatively cheap prices. Even though eggplant is a vegetable that is popular with the public, it seems that the cultivation of eggplant plants is not as intensive as the cultivation of other favorite vegetable plants such as chilies, tomatoes, onions, and others. The main problem in vegetable cultivation currently being experienced by eggplant farmers in the Ironwood area is the attack of the yellow mosaic virus pathogen. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications so that there were 20 experimental units. The five treatments given were K- (eggplant control plants without treatment), K+ (eggplant control plants inoculated with yellow virus), P (eggplant plants treated with isolates of the Pseudomonas group flourescens from Palam and inoculated with eggplant yellow virus), B ( Eggplant plants applied with isolates of the Pseudomonas group flourescens from Landasan Ulin and inoculated with eggplant yellow virus), C (Eggplant plants applied with isolates of the Pseudomonas group flourescens from Landasan Ulin and inoculated with eggplant yellow virus). The results of research that have been carried out have concluded that administration of rhizobacteria isolates P, B, and C can induce eggplant plant resistance to eggplant yellow virus infection, but cannot trigger plant height growth.

Abstract

Oryza sativa L. is the main food crop in Indonesia. The need for rice continues to increase every year. Rice production in South Kalimantan in 2019 reached 790,449 tons of rice, then in 2020 it decreased to 677,105 tons of rice. One of the causes of the decline in rice productivity is the attack of the brown planthopper (Nilavarpata lugens Stall.). This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the herbal pesticide babadotan leaves on the mortality of brown planthopper pests on rice plants. This research was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The factors tested were the administration of a herbal pesticide solution of babadotan leaves at doses of 3%, 6% and 9% with a control treatment that was not given pesnab and a chemical control as a comparison. This study had 5 treatments and 4 replications. The results of the study showed that administering 9% herbal pesticide solution from babadotan leaves was effective in controlling brown planthopper pests with a mortality value of 80%.

Abstract

Shallots are one of the important vegetable commodities that have been intensively cultivated by farmers for a long time, including in the non-substituted spices group which functions as food flavoring seasonings and ingredients for traditional medicine. In the production process, various constraint were found, one of which is the attack of pathogens that cause moler disease. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Bintaro solution on the intensity of Moler disease attacks on shallot plants on peatlands. The study was conducted at the Phytopathology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru and in Tegal Arum Village, Landasan Ulin District, Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, from June to October 2022. The study used a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment tested was the application of old b intaro fruit, young bintaro fruit, bintaro leaves plus 1 control treatment. The application of vegetable pesticides was carried out by pouring the solution onto the surface of each shallot plant as much as 5 ml per plant, which was carried out 7 times with an interval of 1 week. Parameters observed were the intensity of the attack of moler disease, fresh weight of the bulbs, the number of bulbs and the diameter of the shallot bulbs. The results showed that the incubation period for the pathogen causing moler disease was 14 days. The application of bintaro plant solution was unable to suppress the attack of moler disease on shallots on peatlands and was unable to increase the number of shallot bulbs, but the application of old bintaro fruit was able to increase tuber wet weight by 41kg/ha and tuber diameter by 2%.
