Abstract

ABSTRACT Comparison of sweet corn and rice farm Income in Subak Delod Sema, Padanggalak Kesiman Petilan village, East Denpasar. Sweet corn as a farm commodities is a favorite food especially in town. Sweet corn cultivation has an opportunity to give high benefit if done by effective and efficient system. The election of research area is done by purposive because subak Delod Sema as a central of sweet corn in Denpasar. We take 35 sweet corn farmers and 15 rice farmers (opportunity cost)  from 177 sweet corn farmers as our respondent and we use Slovin Theory. Than 56 rice farmers (opportunity cost) with proportional random sampling method. The purposes of this research are for knowing farmer income, marketing process, and farmer problems. The result of this research show that real income rate which got by farmer from sweet corn farm operations are Rp 9,263,218/month/ha bigger that's all million that is Rp 6,727,102/month/ha (57,01%) get more by rice as opportunity cost Rp 2,536,116/month/ha. This situation show that advantages in the same wide area for sweet corn farm operations get more value than rice cultivation. There are two ways for distribution their sweet corn product such as: first, start from farmer as producer to collector further to consumer. Second, start from farmer as producer to collector than collector to retail in market further to consumer. There are problem faced by sweet corn farmer such as: climate change, exchange price, rare access to investor, and decrease of price information. Based this research we suggest to farmer that sweet corn farm operations as daily profession and more active browsing information in create farm operations. Abstract

Farmer Motivation In Asparagus Farms (Case Of Mertanadi Group Member In Pelaga Village, Sub District Petang, Badung District) Pelaga Village is one of the villages in Bali where most of the population work in agriculture. One of the crops that arecultivated in this village is asparagus. No studyhas investigated the level of motivation of farmers in cultivating asparagus in this village. This study aims to understand this. The study was conducted specifically on Mertanadi farmer groups that was determined through purposive method. The study involved 38 farmer respondents that were determined by using the Slovin formula. This study shows that the motivation level of farmers in cultivating asparagus is high with a score of 3,68. Intrinsic motivation is high with a score of 3,82 and extrinsic motivation is also high with a score of 3,54. The result shows that in the intrinsic factors, there are indicators with low category, namely the need for appreciation. Farmers must focus on cultivating asparagus plants so that they can meet their needs and their families’ so that they get appreciation from fellow groups and the government. In the extrinsic factors there are also indicators with low categories, namely indicators of other farmers. Farmers should cooperate with each other so that they can motivate each other to improve the continuity of the cultivation of asparagus in the future.

Abstract

The Marketing Mix of Salted Peanut of Cendrawasih Brandat UD. Monang Denpasar-BaliUD. Monang is an agro-industrial busines engaged in the production of snack ofpeanuts. Seeing the interest of consumers who tend to consume more salted peanutsthan any other peanuts, this study aimed to determine the marketing mix conductedby UD. Monang on cendrawasih salted peanuts in term of the concept of product,price, place/distribution and promotion and to identify the constraints faced by UD.Monang in marketing salted peanuts produck with brand of cendrawasih. Based onthe research result of cendrawasih salted peanuts produck are processed from rawmaterials of the best peanuts. The marketing mix carried out by UD. Monang on itsproduck was to provide three packaging in the form of plastic to make it look moreappealing to consumers. Pricing implemented by UD. Monang is the cost pluspricing method which set the price based on the cost added by the percentage of thecost. For small-sized plastic packaging containing 125 gram was for Rp 3.900, 225gram for Rp 8.400 and 350 gram for Rp 11.400. the company uses retailer as anintermediary in the distribution of products to the end consumers. Promotionalactivities used by the company was to use personal selling. Internal contrains facedwas the company’s performance in terms of the promotion was less effective.External constraints were that their competitors of similar products resulted in thecompany having to compete fairly tight.

Abstract

Competency Of Simantri Companion In Making Biourine In The Simantri Group InTabanan Regency. Integrated farming system (Simantri) is one of the superior programs of the Bali ProvincialGovernment to increase the role of the agricultural sector and support the making oforganic fertilizer. Organic fertilizers are in solid and liquid forms. extension agents play animportant role in increasing the competency of farmers in making liquid organic fertilizer.On the other hand, the competence of the instructor must also be adequate and understandin making liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine thecompetency of Simantri's companion in biourine technology transfer and dissemination ofbiourine technology in the Simantri group in Tabanan Regency. The sample used in thestudy amounted to 30 respondents Data obtained in this study were processed and tabulatedusing quantitative analysis methods.Based on the results of research on simantri companioncompetencies in Tabanan Regency, it consists of (1) Mastery of biourine technology showsthat the category is very high, this is supported by giving information, reaching a score of 133 which shows very high categories in the parameters of management. (2) Competenciesobtained from the application process obtained in using the tools directly that reach a veryhigh category with a total score of 120 in the usage time parameter. (3) Then thecompetency in disseminating biourine technology which reaches a very high category isobtained on the indicator. counseling with a score of 131 in the percentage parameters.Thefacilitator gave more training to the Simantri group, especially in mastering technology, theapplication process and also dissemination in the making of biourine, and it was hoped thatthe Simantri companion would give more information about biourine so that the mastery ofmaking biourine was better.

Abstract

The Contribution of Bamboo to Bamboo Craftsmen Income in Kayubihi Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency The wealth of Indonesian forests is so diverse. Forests provide substantial benefits for society. One of the leading forest commodities is bamboo. Bamboo provides many benefits for local communities. Communities in Kayubihi Village produce various types of bamboo handicrafts as a source of livelihood. This study aims to identify the types of bamboo handicrafts produced by the craftsmen, to analyze the added value of bamboo, and to analyze the contribution of bamboo to the craftsmen’s income in Kayubihi Village. This study uses simple random sampling technique, which involves 86 respondents. The analysis techniques used are both qualitative and quantitative. The results of this study indicate that sokasi has the highest added value among all products, namely Rp 87,774.73 per unit, followed by cake packaging at Rp 24,666.17 per set, and bakul at Rp 18,151.68 per unit. The contribution of bamboo to Kayubihi Village communities’ monthly income is 88%. It is recommended that governments help to market bamboo handicrafts. Craftsmen should continue to run and develop bamboo handicraft production by adding new innovations. Communities should work together for the sustainability of bamboo plants. Further research by students and researchers on the contribution of bamboo to the society’s income in Kayubihi Village is needed.

Abstract

Analysis of the Value Additional Processing Of Purple Sweet Potato in PO. Imo Syrup Denpasar PO. Imo Syrup Denpasar is the business processing a purple sweet potato into syrup and juice so as to be durable and provide value added of a product. The purpose of this study is to determine the size of value added of purple sweet potato as the raw materials of syrup and juice and to calculate provit level obtained the company. The research analysis used of the value added Hayami and BEP method with cycles once process production. The research results showed that 10 kg purple sweet potato become 18,75 L syrup and value added is Rp 59.660/L syrup, processing 10 kg purple potato became 15L juice and value added Rp 72.500/L juice. Advantages of gained for one of a production peocess is Rp.52.760 /L Syrup and foe juice is Rp 65.600/L. This effort is also supported by the acquiremwnt on syrup worth Rp.10.416.666 or in break event condition can be obtained by selling as much syrup 221,63/L with selling price Rp.6.693/L. At the minimum sale of juice or in breakeven points Rp.1.736.111 or to produce a much 126,08 L with selling price Rp.980,85/L. Financially PO. Imo Syrup Denpasar can be said profitable. The sugestion that can be given to company is do the promotion by social media. so that the people knows about benefit of and an existanceof juice and syrup purple sweet potato.

Abstract

Lumbung desa is a food institution in the village level that supports the food security improvement program (Desa Mandiri Pangan ) in rural area. This study aims to assess the social perception toward development of lumbung desa in Tabanan Regency.Survey method was used to collect primary data from 60 households through non proportional random sampling in Riang Gede Village, Penebel District and Belimbing Village, Pupuan District. By using descriptive analysis, it was found that the social perception toward lumbung desa development in study area fell into good category. It means that, the lumbung desa in the study area was required. Therefore, it is suggested that the local government should support the lumbung desa development progam.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to identify the role of Desa Adat Seminyak in managing economics institution in tourism area for example hawkers (pedagang pantai), peddlers (pedagang kaki lima), securities (keamanan), at cetera. This research was conducted in Desa Adat Seminyak in Kuta District, Badung Regency. A number of key knowledgable informan were choosen and data were collected through indepth interview method. The leader of Desa Adat Seminyak I Wayan Mara was one of the informants. The result of research indicate that the role of of Desa Adat Seminyak in managing tourism is very significant. To simplify the leader’s task, Desa Adat community performed a new institution that called BAPEDES (Badan Pembangunan Desa ). They looking for the potential ecomomics resource and maintained security condition as a whole. This one of evidences that the bottom-up development give better result than the top-down development. Keyword: Tourism, Desa adat, Managing. ABSTRAK Penelitian yang berjudul “Peranan Desa Adat Dalam Pengelolaan Kepariwisataan” bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar keefektipaan desa adat dalam mengelola kepariwisataan di wilayahnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Adat Seminyak, Kecamatan Kuta Kabupaten Badung. Dalam penelitian ini data yang dikumpulkan adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dalam menggali data dilakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap sejumlah responden kunci yang mengetahui tentang perkembangan desa adat dan pariwisata di daerahnya. Yang dijadikan responden dalam penelitian ini antara lain pengurus desa adat setempat, pedagang pantai, pedagang kaki lima, petugas keamanan, dan sebagainya. Dengan analisis deskriptif, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan Desa Adat Seminyak dalam mengelola kepariwisataan menunjukkan hasil yang significant. Ini merupakan salah satu bukti bahwa pembangunan yang bersifat bottom-up lebih baik hasilnya dari pembangunan yang top-down, hal ini karena Desa Adat setempat yang lebih tahu kondisi wilayahnya sendiri. Dalam pengelolaan desa adat ini, Bendesa Adat Seminyak membentuk suatu lembaga yang disebut BAPEDES (Badan Pembangunan Desa) untuk menggali potensi desa terutama potensi ekonomi serta menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban di wilayah tersebut.
