Abstract

The goal of this Community Partnership Program activity is to increase children's emotional intelligence as well as their English skills. This is accomplished through the use of storytelling activities, with the fairy tales being told in English. The transmission of fairy tales in English is at the request of partners, as there are no English subjects in the 2013 curriculum. In reality, in this age of globalization, English is critical. Parents, particularly at wealthy institutions, are adamant that their children receive English classes, even if it is merely through extracurricular activities or extended school hours. An increase in children's emotional intelligence and English language abilities in elementary school kids is the goal to be met. Wajo Regency elementary schools are PKM partners. as well as the professional development provided to instructors to help them enhance their digital literacy skills. The teacher is expected to increase the quality of his or her instruction in this scenario. Most teachers solely utilized blackboards and markers to teach before the training. Teachers should be able to generate engaging digital-based teaching media as a result of this course. The availability of storytelling activities employing digital fairy tales in English has been achieved as a goal. as well as training in the creation of digital-based learning media, which was attended by roughly 60 teachers from Wajo Regency elementary schools. The teachers were successful in creating learning films, which resulted in a rise in children's emotional intelligence and students' English skills at partner schools.

Abstract

Students can study in non-formal schools as well as formal schools, such as by participating in training to improve their grasp of a lesson. However, being able to attend the course is unquestionably costly. Some of the kids hailed from low-income homes, found it difficult to balance their studies with their busy lives at Islamic boarding schools, lacked enthusiasm for studying English and lacked English language manuals other than school textbooks, among other symptoms. Therefore, the goal of this service activity is to help students at the As'adiyah Sengkang Islamic boarding school improve and guide their English skills. This service activity is conducted using a fun training style that includes games, singing, and short chats. The result of this service is that students' English skills have improved as a result of this optimization and guidance, as evidenced by an increase in students' average English scores from 78 on the initial test to 87 on the final test. It can be concluded that using the training and direct guidance method to improve students' English at the men's boarding school, As'adiyah Sengkang is an effective way to improve students' English.

Abstract

Iron (Fe) is one of the elements that can be found in almost every place on earth, in all geological levels, and in all water bodies. In general, the iron in the water can be dissolved. The content of Fe ions in drilled well water can range between 5-7 mg/L. ICP-OES spectrophotometry is a type of ICP that utilizes plasma as a source of atomization and excitation. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference in Fe content between well water samples and PDAM water samples in the Pemulutan sub-district using the ICP-OES spectrophotometer. The type of research used was cross-sectional. The population in this study was well-watered and PDAM-watered in Pemulutan District. The sampling technique in this study was simply random. The place of this research was in the Palembang Health Laboratory Center. The results showed that the average difference in the examination of Fe levels in well water samples and PDAM water using the sda was 0.13198 mg/L for well water and 0.00445 mg/L for PDAM water. The conclusions were that PDAM water is safer to use for sanitation activities or consumption purposes than well water. The iron (Fe) content in well water is higher than the iron (Fe) content in PDAM water.

Abstract

Pemangkat is a coastal area in Sambas Regency which has a mangrove ecosystem. One of the biota found in mangrove forest areas is the Giant Mudskipper. This fish is often used as an environmental bioindicator due to its characteristics of living in the intertidal zone and being able to absorb and accumulate metals. Heavy metal pollution in marine and coastal areas has become a global problem that causes negative impacts on ecosystems, biota, and human health. One of the heavy metals that can pollute waters due to fishing and port activities is lead (Pb). Pemangkat is one of the centers of capture fisheries activities in West Kalimantan. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the content of the heavy metal of Pb in water, sediment, and Mudskipper in the Pemangkat mangrove ecosystem, Sambas, West Kalimantan. The Pb content in water, sediment, and Giant mud skipper samples was analyzed using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) at a wavelength of 283.3 nm. Accumulation of heavy metal in the biota was determined by the bioconcentration factor (BCF). The concentration of lead metal (Pb) in water and sediment samples was highest at Station II, such as 0.40 mg/L and 0.25 mg/L respectively. The metal content of Pb in Giant Mudskipper was highest at Station I (0.224 mg/kg). The BCF values for Giant Mudskipper at Stations I and II were 1.18 and 0.86. Keywords: Lead (Pb), Mangrove, Mudskipper, Boleopthalmus.
