The problems studied in this paper are (1) users opinion about service referenceÂ (2) the user need for service reference. To describe: (1) the user opinion to service reference and (2) the user need about service of reference. This study belongs to qualitative research methodology descriptive data were collected through interviews and observations of service reference. Therefore, sampling data analysis by fortunity. Based on this research, First, users opinion about the service reference, and (1) librarians often leave the room service reference, (2) often the information sought can not be found by pemustaka, (3) unstructured information sources, so it takes a long time to trace. Second, the users need for services of reference, (1) oral (2) written. The conclusions that can be made â€‹â€‹based on the results of the following research first, librarians should not have to leave because his presence is more needed than the existence of a reference collection. This paper discussed about librarians service quality toward users. The librarians of the Library of Padang State University were chosen as an object of a research. Data was collected through questionaires those were given to 40 users who were taken as a sample by using random sampling technique. The data was analized by using the Libqual+TM method. Based on the results of the research, it is concluded that the index score of satisfaction users (IKP) in each dimension of Libqual+TM are: (1) the ability and attitude of librarians in serving (service Affect-sa), in a value of IKP 12%, (2)facilities and atmosphere of the space dimension of the library (library as place-lp), in a value of IKP 13.80%, (3) the instructions and means of access (personal control-pc), in a value of 14.66% IKP, (4) access to information (information access-it) in a value of 13.15% IKP.Keyword: libqual + tm, service.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the design of an online catalog of the Library UNP: searching procedures, item information, colors and layout. Based on data analyzing, it can be concluded: (1) searching procedure in the design of an online catalog is still focused only on the search through the title alone and the lack of socialization of online catalog to the users, not on the details of the process of online books borrowing, and the lack of alternatives that leads title on the desired title, (2) the information in the online catalog is not yet clear and detailed, i. e. information such as the location where the books are stored, the classification of library materials have accurate information, and the lack of notification of the latest book in the library, (3) the use of color is less clear and make the users also less clear in getting information, and (4) layout on the composition of the title not neat in appearance yet. The purposes of this study were to explain the fit of retrieved information in Digilib the library application program with library material on rack at the library of Padang State University; and to find out the caused factors of the difference between the library material on rack and information in Digilib at the library of Padang State University. Interviewing and observation technique were used and observation in data gatheting. By using interview and observation result description in the data was analyzed. The results of this study are: (1) the information in Digilib was not appropriate with material library at rack and so the students felt a disappointed (2) caused factors of the difference between the library material on rack and information in Digilib at the library of Padang State University are: errors in data entry, unexistence of stock opnameÂ and wrong placing of library material on the rack. The purpose of this paper is to obtain a description of (1) the use of the OPAC at Strathmore University Library polytechnic Padang, and (2) the constraints faced in the use of the OPAC at Strathmore University Library polytechnic Padang and solving problems in the use of the OPAC at Strathmore University Polytechnic Library Padang. The data was collected through observation and interviews with the head, staff and pemustaka at Strathmore University Library polytechnic Padang. The findings of the study, namely (1) OPAC is rarely used because pemustaka not know about the OPAC and OPAC computers to access has not been specified, (2) dissemination of the Library OPAC done polytechnic Strathmore University Padang yet effective, (3) a computer to search the OPAC yet devoted to access the OPAC. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of automation systems in library cataloging materials in the Library of the University of Andalas. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive method, which describe the data relating to the implementation of the automation system library cataloging materials in the Library of the University of Andalas. To obtain the data used several instruments, namely observation and interview guides. The findings of the study is the application of automation to cataloging library materials not maximized because the computer often suffer damage to its hardware, data book yet fully recorded in the computer, the amount of hardware is less when compared to the amount of data library materials, management automation are not maximized in distributing data to circulation and OPAC, and the number brainware make fewer librarians work slow.

AbstractThis article discusses the making of Padang Panjang library promotion advertisement for children through motion graphic media. The purpose of writing describes the making of motion graphics to introduce to children. There are 6 stages of making motion graphic as follows: (1) concept or concept, is the stage before making motion graphic, (2) drawing or design, is the stage of making motion graphic more specifically visualized in the form of images, (3) Collection of material or material collecting, is a collection of material in the making of motion graphics, (4) assemblies or assemblies, which are made in several stages, namely designing, animating, compositing, and rendering carried out by using applications, (5) testing or testing the video made, (6) distribution or distribution, is the final stage of packaging and distribution of the product.Keywords: children;Â library;Â motion graphic.Â

This paper discusses the Making of Website Based Search Information Media at Padang City Police. With the existence of web-based media can be a means of liaison between Polresta with Polsek in city / regency. So that the provision of services and information from the police to the public will be faster. The method used is descriptive method. Data was collected through direct observation at Polresta Padang. After making observations, the next step is to design key points that will be included on the paper and the page will be displayed on the website design. After that, design a database table that will be linked to the website design. Based on the research results can be concluded steps of making media search information about crime based website in Polresta Padang as follows: (1) Creating database; (2) Make connections; (3) Create a web page consisting of web display design, create login form, Create User Input, Displays User data. Therefore, it is suggested to members of Police Precinct Padang to use web as media to search information Polresta Padang. The Web is an information search medium whose coverage is very wide and accessible 24 hours, and the information contained therein can be updated quickly and does not require a high cost.Keyword: information, website

AbstractIn this paper discussed about information seeking behavior of library users of the State University of Padang Postgraduate Library because of a lack of knowledge in finding the information they need precisely and quickly. Because not a few postgraduate users who feel confused in finding the information needed. This research question covers how post-market visitors' information seeking behavior encompasses the stages of their activities. The purpose of writing this paper is to describe the behavior of information retrieval of postgraduate library students at Padang State University. The method of data collection is carried out on librarians and librarians through observation, interviews, and library studies in the Postgraduate Library of Padang State University. Analyzing data is done descriptively.Based on analyzing the data, it was concluded that in searching for library information in the Postgraduate Library of Padang State University there are two stages, namely: (1) behavior of the user when searching for information with the user strategy in information retrieval, which includes: starting, browsing, and extracting, (2) meanwhile, the technique of searching information on librarians in the Postgraduate Library of Padang State University shows that in conducting information search, library users use information search techniques based on words and information search techniques based on the closest words.Keywords: optimization, competence, electronic archives.

AbstractBased on the results of the study, the following is concluded. The attitude of visitors towards library services in the Padang Panjang City Library. 1) the attitude of the librarian in the Padang Panjang City Library has been very positive, seen from the attitude of the librarian who is able to serve users wholeheartedly and help users when needed. 2) the visitor's attitude is very positive towards the collection services available at the Padang Panjang City Library. This can be seen from a collection of collections quickly so it is very easy to find the desired collection. 3) visitors' attitudes towards the facilities are also very positive as seen from the facilities at the Padang Panjang City Library, neat reading tables and reading chairs that allow visitors and make visitors comfortable visiting the Padang Panjang City Library.Keyword:Â Library, Collection, AttitudeÂ
